PLEASE keep buying from the retailers so I can keep buying from discounters...I've been in this game for over a decade...if you honestly think discounters are fake or somehow give you a different fragrance you have no clue what you're talking about. So yea keep spending all taht money at retailers...i love getting the same shit you got for half the price.
Research the import sites like Importyeti and Importgenius and see where the discounters are obtaining their bottles from. You'll find Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong as some of the locations along with the Netherlands.
Friends, all these are copies from the Emirates that you think are original perfumes. You in the US are too naive. Shake your heads and come to your senses😂
One problem is that you're comparing boxes and bottles that were manufactured several years apart. The houses change the design. What you need to do is compare the atomizer nozzle and inner assembly with the spray cap off to a bottle with a similar batch date purchased from an authorized seller. Doesn't Maxaroma charge list price for Parfums de Marly?
I was just thinking that. I just bought a Carlisle from pdm and on the bottom of box says 2015 my Haltane says 2022. My Carlisle that I bought from max aroma says 77%vol on box but on bottle says 81% vol . Maybe a miss print that’s why the discount it? Also I don’t got the number stamp on bottom. Maybe they did that on newer year releases? I compared it to my Haltane that I paid retail for everything else checks out fine
It's not fake but it is old and sometimes i feel the bottle wasn't kept in a cool dark place ... i have gotten bottles that smell similar, but something was off
Agree. I bought Tuscan Leather 100ml for 212 euro. The atomizer is messed up, most of the time squirts rather than spraying. I also bought the 100ml F* Fabulous for 290 euro. 100ml. Horrible atomizer and very bad liquid. Smells toxic compared to original shops. I would never suggest anyone to buy on discounters. Never ever. Always something off, most of the time is the liquid.
Just to shed some light on this, Maxaroma is 100% legit. They are also officials distributors for PDM. I actually went to PDM to ask and they said they actually are official. This is from the company. The just control their prices
They should be authorized to sell PdM as they're charging SRLP at Maxaroma. You should have asked PdM why don't they list them on their site as an official seller. They only list Bloomingdale's, Saks, Nordstrom and another store or two in NYC as authorized sellers.
I have been buying fragrances for the last 2 and a half years but then when I hear this I begin to think, are they real? I'm like everyone who tries to save some money. My favorite niche is PDM. I hpe I purchase the real deal. Thanks for the tip, that's good to know. Have a nice day. Be Bless
@tonymarinelli7304 yeah. Thank God it was only a 60 dahwuh bottle of colonia essenza. I won't buy 🔥 deal signs anymore from them. It's probably like a restaurant having "specials" on food going bad soon.
My issue with them is how often you buy something from them and turns out the don't actually have it in stock....then the wait game starts. I've waited weeks before cancelling cause they hadn't gotten it in yet. If they STATED before the customer purchased it, and you chose to wait, that's fine...but they don't do that.
Sometimes sellers will buy too much of something or for some reason it’s not selling as well as they thought they would. It’s a business, so they need to constantly buy the new fragrances that are coming out to the market. But what do they do with all the stuff they either bought too much of and or can’t sell? They sell them to the discounters for very cheap. Since discounters get these fragrances for very cheap, they are able to sell them for a discounted price. 🤙🏻
Don't forget that newer batches aren't going to smell the same. In addition, buying testers saves a ridiculous amount of money, and I would recommend most people to just do that. Most discounters are genuinely legit as well.
I purchased a fragrance a few years ago that is now discontinued. I remember it well as I went through a whole bottle. I recently purchased the same fragrance on a discount website and once I received it I checked the batch code. It was almost 4 years old. It didn't smell the same, similar but not the same. More like pencil shavings. Very disappointed as I can't wear it. It's a crap shoot when you buy from these sites.
Just got mine yesterday from max aroma and I notice the on the bottom of the box it says 77% vol on it but on the bottle it says 81% vol . Another thing on the bottle on the bottom it doesn’t have the number on it like yours on the side. But other than that I compared it out to my Haltane bottle that I paid retail for and everything else checks out. Did notice on the bottom of the Carlisle box it say 2015 pdm so im assuming this bottle is really old. So maybe that’s why and maybe it’s a miss print on the bottle.
It most likely is legit, but as you mention it could had been used and returned, which makes the main issue, how much juice was in it. Being that it looks like you can't see through the bottle, if you didn't use any from PDM bottle, you should have weighed them using grams, and if they only a few grams difference, it should be just about full. If there's a 10% or more less weight, than obviously you got 10% or more less juice.
I received a leaking bottle near the sprayer on a discounter. i guess discounter sell at a cheaper price due to some issues with the item that didnt passed quality standards.
Not always . I had been selling Amouage and some niche fragrances on eBay and Mercari and now starting to sell on Shopify and creating my own web page. Some time if there is a problem your discounter should tell it to its customers which I do and still a lot of people buy because it’s at least 30-50% cheaper than retail so why buy retail ?
I find Parfums de marly quality control is pretty poor and on the decline. Some of the paint can bubble or flake and they are cutting costs with new bottle like Oajan going from gold caps to now basic silver. Not to mention the fragrance % is now less , quality on brands such as Xerjoff is alot higher imo .
I’ve been wanting to get into this but haven’t found any reputable distributors. I understand if you don’t want to provide any real info but if you could point me in a general direction it would be highly appreciated 🙏🏽
Discounter fragrances seem weaker than house bought fragrances. I have always thought the discounters that sell decants give you weak juice. Almost like they decant half the bottle then refill it back full with perfumers alcohol and resell it for a new full bottle. Smells the same but performance sucks!

I’ve purchased from Maxaroma, and FragranceBuy as well and they were both legit. I prefer JOMASHOP though because they usually have things the others don’t and the prices seem to be the lowest.
If it’s not sealed from the factory it’s potentially suspect as you can buy a bottle take out the juice and refill it with h the juice from a 30$ dupe that smells almost identical and return it to the seller and whalahh you got a 300$ frag for 30$ minus the time spent 15-20 mins maybe .
