Subscribed last year so just a note to tell you how much I enjoy your channel. Been dabbling with all this stuff for 50 years now and its just great to see the information flow so freely these days. Probably have watched 75% of the channels you're mentioning here.
I learned alot from my elders and young guys like you, your classroom videos make me wish I had you as a teacher back in high school. Lake Speed and Ben Alameda are true gems too!
I'm just a small engine builder in Texas and you are spot on with your analysis . I worked in oilfield machining for a while and you can ask three different machinists advice on a job and get three different ways to do it. I would take their advice and try to meld it all together to be successful. Nobody is born with the answers, listen to those that don't mind teaching.
Always appreciate you and your take on what is! I was really lucky growing up in a neighborhood in the rust belt that had a lot of car guys, and a few really exceptional car guys. This was the late 70s, early 80s. A lot of young talent grew up here, and I was so young but tried to soak up as much as I could as a really young boy who looked forward to my license and ability to drive like the golden ticket to freedom. Watching your videos, and many of the other channels you mentioned takes me right back to those childhood days watching craftsmen perfecting their hobby, trade and interests while working on their own, and friends cars. Great, great stuff!
You're leathered and have wisdom like others who have been in this for a while, myself, in this business 40 years plus, been to the hospital twice, lungs full all aluminum dust. I enjoy your videos along with many others in the same business, only reason, there's not one who knows it all, so we go to trade and perf shows just to learn more. That's how we are built. it keeps you alive to enjoy more. Cheers, Brian!
Thank you for another GREAT video, great info. I like all the channels you talk about. I really do hope we get to meet someday. Keep up the good work, Brother.

Welding cast is a procedure. If you don't kno don't try to. It will fail. Special rod's, absolutely must heat the area and then insulation to cool slowly afterwards. There's a shop in Nevada, IA that can weld anything if you're ever in a bind. Used to be called Williams Cylinder Head but I believe Arnold Motor Supply bought them out. Fixed some 409 heads & a 455 Olds block for me back in the day.

@SalterRacingEngines good stuff. I'd like to see someone test something: we know radius seats on the intake can flow better but will make less power. The sharp cuts need to be there for the fuel. Why not take this another step and introduce-make a sharp burr say .080-.110 upstream from the seat? Fluid dynamics shows the air may even turn better going over a sharp edge. Always telling them that they may find a better way to set up a part for a particular machining process than I showed them. I would smooth straight areas a the corners. I’d rough cut so when air hits that rough cut it will brake up or atomic

Not atomic. Brake the air up into thinner particles
Not corner but the bend area rough cut other places
