I get that you don’t want to bring too much, but I think she’s stepping on him here for nothing more than the sake of doing so. He’s good, and good ones have a style. If you drum it out of them to break their spirits for the sake of practice rather than to help them interpret more effectively, you’re making them a function of your own ethos and not the music’s. The music wants you to be a certain amount of brave, always. That’s what music is.
I don't think he's good at all. Where is the vibrato? In my book, this is a lackluster performance. Go listen to some other recordings of Mozart. Try the Mozart #4 with Heifetz. I'm not a fan at all of people who do period performances, mostly because they are playing constantly out of tune. The pitch may be lower, but the intonation doesn't change the placement of the fingers on the fingerboard. A lot of people go into that because they can't play in tune.
@@BestAmateurViolinistI don’t know if this is what you intended, but you sounded very rude when saying this. Some may like his style, some may not, but you don’t have to hammer all his “imperfections” into his skull. Constructive criticism is perfectly fine! But you are just kinda being rude.
What can I say? Sometimes you hit a nerve that you didn’t even know was a nerve. I’m sure this lady is a consummate musician. I just question her instructional approach, and I don’t see any point in trashing a student’s honest efforts, unless you’re just looking to use someone else’s honest process of learning to establish your own value or authority.
Does it sound good? Yes ofc. Could it sound better if he follows the guidance of someone who has more experience with the instrument? Yes ofc. No need for all the comments dissing her
@@kennethbradshaw967 imo performance at a high level shouldn't be about a performers 'style' however you would define that for the individual unless it's a piece you wrote yourself you are attempting to play the piece as close to what the composer composed adding anything unnecessary not in the original comp should be considered failure as a performer

There's a couple cellists that do a super cool thing. They play the first time through as normal 'cookie cutter' as you put it haha. And the second repeat (time through) they add all their extras. It's really cool! And I love how you can hear the difference in style and while it's still the same piece it makes it so much more
Kiddo you want CRISP you want to make it sound like you’re really flying. Think Key & Peele basketball hype skit amounts of REAL flying but like in terms of like sound right huh 💋
What your instructor does mean is to apply enunciation of consonants in violin-speech music-speech Mozart-studies. I’m sorry but Mozart really was and still is a bit of an assh0000le. Good luck, little munchkin ❤
It's out of tune first of all. Secondly, you don't use harmonics in Mozart. Thirdly, all down beats occur on the downbow. That was the rule of thumb for violin playing and it's in Leopold Mozart's treatise. Leopold was Wolfgang's father, just so you know. She should have much better students than this... Although he is very cute.
The piano is about half a step flat, hence the out of tune thing you’re talking about. Also, when a violin is tuned down as much as a half step, it can alter the positioning of the notes on the strings due to string tensions changing. This is why both of them sound equally uncomfortable and out of tune playing.
Why dont you just keep all of these thoughts to yourself, in no way is this helpful or necessary. She has students so she can help them improve thats why students are there, to LEARN. And everyone has a different style of playing not everyone has to not use harmonics, play all down beats on a down bow, everything you put in the comments I have seen are just unnecessary. These are what you want to hear and see but everyone is different so obviously you will be upset but that does not mean you have to correct anyone or comment on anything about anyones playing thats not your place. And I find this comment rude some might not but there is no need for a rude comment, it would’ve been fine if you didn’t put it in stern words.

Amazing and.great...
Wow, very nice student
From first few shots I really thought that was Theresa May
As if she’s good at anything
Why can I imagine Hilary Hahn like this as an old master?
i hope she will never teach Bach, she makes it sound like if it was late romantical repertoire

Play with Amadaety
At what point is it just stylistic recommendations and not actually improvements.
I think it depends,, its just the student showned were already skilled.

It sounded so much better after her recommendations so what are you talking about

Why is it baroque tuning #perfectpitch
Ok but can he play Smoke in the Water tho?
