On the last day of summer vacation in 1962, friends Curt (Richard Dreyfuss), Steve (Ronny Howard), Terry (Charles Martin Smith) and John (Paul Le Mat) cruise the streets of small-town California while a mysterious disc jockey (Wolfman Jack) spins classic rock'n'roll tunes. "Wow. He's really fast isn't he. Yea. But he's stupid" that is such a true statement.
One of the best early roles of Harrison Ford career
"Your car is uglier than I am!... that didn't come out right."
More than anything, that's the line that made me fall in love with this movie.
I love Harrison Ford doing the Jim face when she says that
I wish they'd done more with the character in the cowboy hat. The guy seemed like a good actor too. Oh well.
He had potential. Wonder where he is now?
@@markg7030honestly I can't 🤣😭
He reprised his role briefly in the American Graffiti sequel (as a cop!), but after that, it's a mystery.
😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂
One of his best roles.
That Harrison kid is going places.
I always liked the careful placement of the songs. Street racing to "Do You Wanna Dance?" About as good as it gets!
yep, and the wolfman howl right as they stage at the light. The movie is such a masterpiece.
The scene is done so well, that you know even after Falfa blows through the light, it ain't over quite just yet.
"Yeahh but he's Stoopid." Dude killed that part
such a cool movie with john milner played by paul Le mat
something very authentic, organic about this.
The formula hadn't been established for teen films. They were free
Wasn’t til seeing this that I realized Harrison Ford and Steve Martin resemble eachother
Fave scene, fun to run through what brought Harrison Ford’s character to that point
I always wondered what he would’ve actually ran in that car, because the mk 4 big blocks hadn’t come out yet. I’d guess either a 348 or 409. That car sounds so good.

Somewhere in the comments someone gave all the specs
They were like gunfighters of the old West talking sh@#$ and showing off …beautiful…
that is the best racing scene.
Puedes ver esta escena mil veces y darte cuenta lo que es Cine en mayúsculas. Lo visual acompañado de un diálogo/guión tan realista como genial para retratar una época y hacerte sentir nostálgico. Magia 💫 que tenía el cine de antes...
This is a definite classic.
Anyone who has street raced in the old days, understand this scene
The best 4 minutes that's ever been recorded
Love both cars
❤
@@Francine.larabee.timmins.ont. can you believe they are now owned by the same person. All it takes is money honey
That Chevy could do the Kessel Run in 11 Parsecs.
Here’s Like Han Solo or Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) WE LOVE YOU 🥰❤️
1:56 - 2:38
More exciting than any Fast & Furious movies after Tokyo Drift, tbh :3
Sometimes I watch Milner vs Falfa and the Supra vs Charger videos all in one go
I had such a crush on Ron Howard. After seeing this, I decided I was in love with Paul!
Falfas 55 Chevy sounds awesome!
327 with a cam, headers, a tunnel ram and duel quads
@@ANOCKSWRONGGGG it was an l88 427 :)
@@lathynnelms5874 what did I say about the car? I don't even remember
2:20
That is *definitely* the most *authentic* V8-engine roar I’ve ever heard in a movie so far…
Other than *”Fast & Furious”* , that is…
02:32 he made the jump to lightspeed
Ah, the 60's. When you could go drag racing without seat belts and a 12 year old girl by your side, and nobody says boo.
Milner had all he could handle in Falfa’s 55. In real life it’s not even a race. That 55 was the real deal.
Not true. That '32 is over 1,000 pounds lighter, on paper the '55 should get it's doors blown off.
@@dirtfan05 you're not even close man . That's the '55 from Two Lane Blacktop , not only is it gutted , it has a fiberglass flip front end and doors with plexiglass windows in them . 1000 lbs no way , more like 650 lbs .
It’s a drivers race….Milner’s been racing a lot longer….he knows what he’s doing……55 gets out of sorts off the line….32 hooks and goes….Milner’s got more experience…..Falfa’s a newbie…..55 is a tub….big block is heavy…tube axle ..probably doesn’t have drag shocks in front….Milner’s the better driver…😀
@@paulciprus9582 you've made a lot of assumptions , now here's the facts of the matter . Front suspension on the '55 consists of coil over shocks and a four bar to locate the axle . That heavy big block has aluminum heads on it to drop weight . Not only was the car gutted , it also was fitted with a fiberglass frontend and doors , plus plexiglass windows bringing it's weight down to around 2850 lbs . Milner's car weighs in around 2200-2250 lbs . Early Ford suspension sucks big time when it comes to racing , watch closely, there's little to no weight transfer when he launches . Milner even admitted to Toad that he was getting beaten .
@@paulciprus9582 Thank you for the history lesson that I of all people don't require . However you're a bit mistaken on your time line . There were Corvettes with aluminum heads before '62 . Fiberglass body parts were very much available for '55-'57 Chevies in the early sixties , as evidenced by the replacement fenders on my next door neighbor's '57 Belair. The die cast model of the '55 was made with a dual quad 409 under a flip front end . I'm surprised that you haven't tried to claim BS about the coilovers . But maybe you already knew about " Ohio " George Montgomery showing up at the 1960 U.S. Nationals with AC Delco coilovers under the front of his Willys gasser .
Falfa's car is one of the leftover '55 Chevy's from the movie "Two Lane Blacktop". It had either a 427ci or 454ci Big Block engine which didnt exist in the Era this movie was set in.
Looks like a john hughes movie.
This movie is beyond great. Bravo George Lucas!
Yes❤
Jolie❤
This movie isn’t on Disney+ but I think it should be!
327 Chev in MIlner's and a 454 in Falfa's 55...!
Falfa's car did the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs.
Notice, no Hemi 413 or 426 around,
That 55 Chevy is fast, but it can’t make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.
Fastest field cars around
How does no one realise that the boy is Rick May?
I think Tommy Lee Jones would have made a good bob falfa too
Hahaha……….
George Lucas will always be one of my favorite directors & I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan.
Star wars has been great when i was a kid of thirteen. That is what i was thinking as i rewatched it a couple of years ago. With a smile.
What is Your Life
I wonder if any of those muscle cars can beat a Nissan Skyline R34 Twin Turbo with 1000hp if you brought that car back in that time
The acting is just painful lmao
It’s cheesy but it’s so much fun, lmao
Jaded party of one.
1:09, is she staring at the camera? LOL
not at all
