I was born in the fifties and its true, most people just weren't demonstrative. I never doubted that my parents loved me, because they showed me by their actions.

Now that Charles himself has become King he must realize how difficult his mother’s life must have been with such young children. I was born in the fifties as well and my parents were always very demonstrative...hugs, kisses and "I love you" were constantly heard in my home, as well as spending time with us, both inside the house as well as outdoors. Different people express themselves differently.
If we are riled by what we know H has done and said, can you imagine what's happened behind the scenes that we don't know about. That's why William won't have anything to do with him, we just don't know the full story. H needs to be cut off soon before he starts behaving like he's the King if anything happens to King Charles.

I imagine it is a relief to William to be finally free of a very needy brother who does not take guidance.
It appears that William has a lot of support from family members who genuinely care about him and will be there for him in the coming years, so why would he need to confide and ask for support from a brother who has turned his back on him, trashed him and his wife, and whose erratic and self-serving behavior has shown he can't be trusted.

Meghan wanted the big wedding to rival that of Prince William and Princess Catherine, then she and her husband had the nerve to say they were 'forced!' She wore a bright white gown, not the one approved by the late Queen, wore an absurdly long veil which didn't match the dress, but was designed around the Spencer tiara she assumed would be handed to her, not asking the Earl for permission! She was also supposed to curtsy to the late Queen during the ceremony, but just waltzed by with a smirk on her face. Too bad throwing someone in the Tower isn't allowed any more.
I am the same age as Princess Anne and my parents weren't at all demonstrative. But I was taken well care of, always well fed and clothed and felt 100% secure.

My husband and his brother have been estranged since 1992. Our children didn’t meet their cousins until their Grandmother passed in 2011. They were never curious about their cousins because we never talked about them. It was a non-issue. When they met, it was again, a non-issue. They were cordial to each other. They became Facebook friends. But there wasn’t a need to become friends other than that. No one is considered cool. We all live in different parts of the U.S.
I don’t think the Wales children will be keen to be fast friends with the “cool” cousins in CA. In fact, they might find them odd.

As an American myself, I found it outrageous that Harry didn’t say no to the questions about if he was considering citizenship in the US. He can’t or he has to give up the titles and his place (and his children’s!) in the line of succession. You cannot be a Prince and be a US citizen. In fact, I'd strike him off my list and never talk with him ever. William will feel better not having Harry around him and his family. Just from watching and hearing Harry & wife, they would irritate me and get on my nerves . Many people dislike their siblings. Harry did something unprecedented when he attacked his family who did nothing wrong and are still unable to defend themselves. He did this for money. As someone who has been bullied I know how much this hurts. The internet seems like an impersonal environment but this may not always be the case. Instead I encourage others ( to do what I usually do ) who are not impressed with Harry behavior to stop giving Harry attention. Harry does not deserve our attention. I wish everyone all the best. I think Harry can be successful in California if he is willing to learn and work.

I wouldn't trust what H+M are telling their kids about the cousins. I can't imagine H describing his upbringing in glowing terms. He's probably telling them George gets everything, and the others get scraps, but you get to be anything you want.

I adore and admired Queen Elizabeth. She was stoic by nature and there's nothing wrong with that because that was simply her nature. I think it's unfair to use her work as an excuse for her relationship with Charles. Charles was no different in his parenting, except he wasn't King when he volunteered or chose to travel for Royal Duties instead of spending time parenting teenage Harry after Diana passed or even spending time with his grandchildren with William. Even William admitted he wished Charles would visit his children. Again, that's just his nature.
I think Harry had alterior motives for rushing over for the 12 min. meeting.
