Writer/director/producer M. Night Shyamalan returns to the captivating grip of The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs with Split, an original thriller that delves into the mysterious recesses of one man’s fractured, gifted mind. Following last year’s breakout hit The Visit, Shyamalan reunites with producer Jason Blum (The Purge and Insidious series, The Gift) for the film.
While the mental divisions of those with dissociative identity disorder have long fascinated and eluded science, it is believed that some can also manifest unique physical attributes for each personality, a cognitive and physiological prism within a single being.
Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy, The Witch), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him-as well as everyone around him-as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.
For Split, Shyamalan and Blum reassemble their core team from The Visit. Their fellow collaborators include producer Marc Bienstock and executive producers Ashwin Rajan and Steven Schneider.

I can't wait to see this movie .. at the end of January it will get to my country, Italy...but I hope to see him in a romantic comedy one day..he's so ironic and funny..he would be perfect ....with me as his co-star, of course...........maybe in a parallel universe... Scary indeed, chilled me to the bone. I know this is an old thread/interview, but I watched the movie again today, and I'm blown away by McAvoys talent.
The dance scene with Hedwig was brilliant, really gets under my skin. Also love the way Hedwig ends his sentences with "Etc"...just a little kid trying to be BIG.
One thing I want to mention is how much I disagree with one of the critics who said the childhood flashbacks of the protagonist "Casey" made him uncomfortable.
He said her childhood abuse was not relevant to the story and I couldn't disagree more.
It was her childhood abuse that made her a survivor. As uncomfortable as it may have been for this critic to acknowledge, victims of childhood trauma ARE special in some ways, and the Beast knew it too.
If her trauma saves her life or redeems her in any way, that's a WIN for any victim.
VERY relevant to the storyline.

i watched this on big screen and my mind was blown ,i had no idea till the end this was on the back of one of my ol time favs unbreakable and the ending when i saw Bruce in the caffee i totally screamed out loud omg that was insane , he should have been givin award after award for this film
