    One company I worked for would do door hangers while doing a job. We would put them on the house on each side of job location and the three homes across the street.

    Hi Mike I've watch your videos so many times and I've actually taken a leaf out of your book . What you call trucks in America we call vans in UK I max out one van with work to the point there was a waiting list of people wanting work doing . Until I bought another van to get rid of the waiting list but now the second van is nearly maxed out . Even pricing of jobs i have changed and increased . And to be honest it's helped massively increasly and on top of that customers are still wanting work doing . Looking forward to seeing more of your videos really helpful in so many ways 😀

    This is a good video for me to see today
    Especially the last part about budgeted hours
    This was my most productive year for revenue but my worst year for expenses all because of poor budgeted hours bad suppliers and projects that went way out of hand and ended up costing me way more money than they were worth

    16:41 Mike I’m in this predicament now. This is our first year in business. Still going kind of strong but with all the big projects we’ve done this year I feel like we don’t have much to show for i. Some of the clients we did get said we were still on the higher side haha

    This is what landscaping companies don’t understand you can cut yards for 20$ a hour with a company or you can branch out on your own and get 75-150$ for that same yard on your own but 50-75$ yards at a group does add up but people don’t like paying in nc

    Absolutely awesome advice! I've somewhat done this intuitively as I grew up working minimum wage jobs and I know how to live frugally! I've been weighing up whether or not to buy a chipper. Yeah I WANT it but is it really a NEED? I'm very small scale at the moment. Just myself gardening, trimming hedges and garden clearances etc but the main reason I'm doing alright is I've kept things simple! I have a backup of each tool and I haven't decided to hire anyone as I know there will be a period where I'm making less money as I try to expand! Plan is to do this for a few years until I have a good selection of retuning hedge customers (my highest paying work) which will fill up the autumn and winter and then I have a bit of money behind me as I take on someone else..
    I think many people overspend and its sooooo easy to do!!
    Appreciate all the advice

    Door hangers, again are not allowed in all municipalities. Check with the municipality before spending money on door hangers.

    Hey Mike we are mainly a gardening maintenance focus , no mowing. Some plantings and mulch install. We are just under 500k, debt free 3 employees. I do find it hard to simplify as every garden bed can be so different plants etc.. not sure where to from here. Kinda thinking just keep it going but get the system down..

      @lawnmowing8143 26 дней назад

      Standardise. And don't get picky customers who want too much. I clearly state that we do maintenance. We aren't gardeners who do a bunch of jobs requiring a lot of knowledge as that gets hard when you have employees. Keep things simple. Each yard gets the same treatment.

    3:22 in my area it’s mostly people 60 years old and up. If we did solely online marketing I can bet I wouldn’t have half the business I do considering some of my clients don’t even own a computer.

    From your experience Mike, what is the success rate of door hangers? I always see google say 0.5%-2% at MOST, which means like 13,000 door hangers potentially just to have 100 clients. What have you seen?

      I think you can gain more personally. I’ve used some of mikes tactics on giving instant quotes on door hangers. I haven’t even put out 250 yet & I’ve gotten 6 clients & 2 of them were from one door hanger. Went from a leaf clean up to a sod job sold. I would also look at the income the neighborhood brings in..

    • @xbebe
      @xbebe Месяц назад +1

      You can easily do 1000 in a day. So you’re telling me, in 2 weeks you’ll have 100 clients. Thats pretty doable. Depends how motivated you are

    • @tgnuma2
      @tgnuma2 Месяц назад

      @@xbebe On average, you can hand out 60 door hangers/hour, google likes saying 2/minute which is 120/hour but unless you're running while hanging flyers like Mike did, that is complete delusion. 100 clients is not the issue. We have 741 currently. Just wondering about his success rate. We haven't done a ton of door hangers. I may stick someone on a walking route though with a few thousand and track what we get.
