I love the different perspective on this show. If you want to watch real fans of HotD then there are plenty of channels for you. These guys are coming into it fresh and less seriously but they're never looking to dislike it.

@@ericsantucci6934 I don't think so. I just think people are very precious about the thing they like and they see a guy like me and my friends making some jokes to make each other laugh and they think we're not taking it seriously enough. But we are, and we're having fun watching this show.

I usually enjoy Hector’s commentary, almost always. But I get the sense that he isn’t used to content that takes things from history, especially medieval Europe and the ancient world. He’s treating everything from a 21st century perspective. I guess that’s fine, but it’s hard to enjoy content that draws from medieval or ancient history if you keep judging characters’ decisions and attitudes based on our views today. 😂

Yeah that's a fair criticism. Kinda seems like he just had to buckle up and watch something he didn't want to watch "for his job" and the lack of enjoyment/resentment comes through in the reaction which in the case for this type of work is the "final product".
Love how these have almost become a HOT D advent calendar counting down the 10 days before the S2 premiere. Such a fun refresher.

Otto, the bearded guy in green, was suggesting the king wed Princess Rhaenyra to Prince Aegon, the king's new son by his 2nd wife, Alicent. Alicent is Otto's daughter, so Otto is trying to become grandfather of the next king.

While its understandable your views on the strike, I think a little bit of context would do you good in regards to these shows. Both HOTD and ROP, while having American distributors, are considered British Equity prodcutions. British Equity was not part of the strikes which were soley with US based unions. In fact, laws in the UK made it illegal for SAG/WGA members who were part of BE productions to participate in strike activity. They literally would have been fired. So they had no choice but to continue with the projects and the unions gave them a pass to work on the projects without any type of reprecusssions. The showrunners were both on set during this time and while they weren't able to make any changes in the moment, notes were taken so that when the strikes ended, given the large window they had regarding principal photography ending to episodes airing, they could make necessary changes.

Yes, checking out the family tree chart might be slightly helpful with remembering everyone. Most time jumps have to be cuz the main story line of show is the "Dance of the Dragons" war coming for the next few seasons so hang on to your hats cuz the jumps will come quickly. Character setup has been going well BUT for the most part GRRM usually loves to write characters in more grey than clear black or white. Definitely for
The Targaryens! This is why you may never feel able to root completely for 1 person. Also, you know how family drama can get.🙄

I thought I would point out in regard to King Viserys using stairs to get off his horse and not being very active in the Hunt etc., He has a flesh eating disease which you saw in the first Episode where they ended up burning it to try to stop it spreading which didn't work, it puts him in constant pain hence the drinking all the time to try to ease it, At this point it's taken two fingers and some bits off his back and as the season goes on much more.

😊 the boys dig the show. It’s just at the same time. They realize it’s a fantasy show so they like the way the plot develops and the pacing but you know for them. It’s come on. It’s a fantasy show come on. By the way, I am totally laughing at the fact that you guys are cringed at how old the the princess is and they’re trying to like pawn her off into marriage and also the marriage of their own family members but the problem here is that is how this family line was. They believed in purity of the line so they would keep it within the bloodline instead of marrying outside.😮😮😮

Actually, Rhaenyra should have been less rude to Lord Lannister. Yes, he was obnoxious, but as the heir to the Iron Throne and future queen, she has to learn how to graciously handle obnoxious lords and ladies and keep them on her side. Lord Jason had her father's permission to court her, that's why he was homing in on her. And Rhaenyra would be hopelessly stupid to think that she could get away with not marrying; a girl (or boy) in her position has to marry and it's usually their father who picks the spouse.
