I love that Brittany and Tina covered for him right on the spot - Brittany especially, seeing as at the time, she joined the Glee Club specifically to spy on them. That's common decency in friendship right there.

@Van Bonfire lol this is two years too late, I TOTALLY agree with you! imo, as an older viewer now lol is that almost all characters on glee were not good people, I just think that the message of glee was "uniqueness" which they portrayed well, besides showcasing TONS and tons of other kinds of problematic actions of the characters :)

Or, in other words, he was 100% making his son's life harder. The fact that he didn't know if he could trust his father not to be homophobic was the reason he was pretending to be straight.

Right the first time I watched this I was oh boy here we go!! Little did I know what was to come from the iconic father that is Burt!
I find it funny that BRITTANY is the one with the best poker face for lying. Didn't hesitate or sound nervous or trip over her lies. Sure, it was easy for Burt to tell it was a lie even before she tried to claim the kicker was the smallest one on a football team (LOL, trying to come up with something false to fool a former football player LOL) because there was NO lying their way out of that, but all the same I'm still impressed.

I felt this. It’s scary and embarrassing and just very awkward when your parents see something like this and just knows without you telling them
No one in my family knows with me telling them but I think there's been multiple instances where my mum knew so I have a feeling she knows. It's scary when you don't know if they know or not. It's like there is no closure.
So out of continuity to see flashbacks of Burt having tea parties with his son, and then being weirded out by this encounter, and then telling Kurt he always knew. THAT BEING SAID.... Coming to terms with who your kid is, and really trying to work towards "getting it" as opposed to "accepting it" isn't easy. I love that Burt is struggling just as much as Kurt is to be HONEST about the reality of things.

Now I’ll be honest, I’m not and og glee fan, I found out about it in 2014.. I saw this exact scene on a tv while on a cruise, and I was like, “this is iconic” so I looked on the tv to see what show it was and I watched it when I got home, and I am so glad I had found out about this show because I probably would not have found this show if it wasn’t for this. And I love this show, it’s 2020 and I’m still obsessing over Klaine, and this whole show overall.
