Gil-galad nan Edhelchír dim linnar i thelegain: Im Belegaer a Hithaeglir Aran ardh vethed vain a lain. Gariel maegech Gil-galad, Thôl palan-gennen, ann-vegil; A giliath arnoediad Tann thann dîn be genedril. Dan io-anann os si gwannant A mas, ú-bedir ithronath; An gîl dîn na-dúath di-dhant, vi Mordor, ennas caeda gwath.
Fiction is a mirror to real life because we cant create what we dont know, thats why movies/books etc reflects ours feelings, emotions etc. So,maybe thats why we care for fictional characters, because they represent real life, is universal truth been told in screen/paper. Want an example? Pick a paper and draw the most strange alien from another universe that u never ever saw, you will draw it with characteristics you know from stuff you have seen in your life. We make what we know, no matter what.
Gil-Galad was an Elven-king of him the harpers sadly sing. The last whose realm was fair and free, between the Mountains and the Sea. His sword was long, his lance was keen, his shining helm afar was seen. The countless stars of heaven's field were mirrored in his silver shield. But long ago he rode away, and where he dwelleth none can say. For into darkness fell his star, in Mordor where the shadows are.
You might want to change the description for the "countless" stars are addressed, not "boundless". ; D The countless Stars of Heaven's Field were mirrored in his Silver Shield!
+Jasmin Mikaelson if there was an alternative lotr at 15 years or 18 for thats sake, we could have witnessed this deleted scene where SAURON literally sets gil-galad ablaze by holding him , and transfering his 2000 degree body temp to gilgalad...wht a gruesome scene tht would be,,,no Wonder why tghey skipped this scene in consideration to the youngsters...
Damn, Gil-Galad always was a favourite of mine, and poem soo good.
