    Luka literally is the PERFECT Superstar. He’s an alltimer with no ceiling but also Super marketable, Super Popular, relatable personality, shines in big moments, aura, killer mentality, trash talking you name it. he is the Face of the League going into next Season😤💯💯

    A really funny thing is that the Suns who had the #1 pick in Doncic's draft just hired the person who coach Luka on the Slovenian National Team and still didn't draft him

    • @TheIcemanthomas
      @TheIcemanthomas 29 дней назад +1

      The suns are NOT the team that messed up. Yes they could’ve had him. But they got DA who helped get them to a finals and played pretty well. Sure it didn’t work out long term. But technically it wasn’t the wrong pick. Now the kings? Yeah they messed up. lol

      @@TheIcemanthomas Agreed. The Suns had Booker already at that point and needed a center so they got one as any team in that predicament would. Kings messed up so bad lmao Luka was taunting the GM a few months back still haha

    I'm not a close follower of basketball, but I hear that the youth basketball in Europe focuses more on teaching proper technique and fundamentals while in the USA, the youth system is more about just playing more games and tournaments.

    In the NBA players have to enter the draft. If they are not selected by a team then they can be signed as a free agent. Teams cannot horde the best players and get them without using a draft pick. Also players must be one year removed from high school to enter the draft now. You used to be able to go straight out of high school (Lebron, Kobe, Garnet etc) but they changed the rule. You don't have to go to college though, you can play in the G-League or professionally in another country.

    To Daz's question about taking a player outside the draft. Yes, you can. Today Yubusele from France signed with the 76ers, after his strong Olympic and Euro showing.

  • @PHXNKVHXLIC

    Suns should’ve taken Luka at 1 and their organization would look different
    And there are things called Eurostash draft picks where teams draft an European player while still under their Euroleague contract so once it ends they immediately go play for said NBA team that drafts them

  • @deonlepharaoh

    Dennis Smith Jr wasn't necessarily the reason luka didn't immediately start at point guard.....
    He started at foward initially because Dirk was injured when the season started so he just took dirks spot in the lineup until dirk returned....and smith was traded to new york to get porzingis and hardaway jr.

    As an American... I'd venture to guess the 13 year olds here in sports will have a little higher "Basketball IQ" than those in countries that play less basketball, but the talent he had would be able to be cultivated to a higher higher level than the average basketball player here, at least at a younger age. Personally, I think those types of guys have a higher capacity for learning the game to go side by side with their talent and genetics. Those types are typically able to dominate as they go from adolescent, to amateur and so on.

      You also gotta remember that his exposure to the game of basketball was greater from a young age than for most American youth too, despite him not being American

    Blokes! Genuine question, in your opinion why hasn't NBA basketball or basketball in general taken off in the United Kingdom like it has any some other non US countries like Spain or even now South Sudan? Asking because I would love to see the UK represented in the international competitions like FIBA and the Olympics. I understand soccer is the #1 sport in most countries but it seems the UK could easily make a name for themselves if some of their best players could break through.

  • @stephensharp3543
    @stephensharp3543 29 дней назад

    I am sure they knew who he was growing up. You can enter the draft until you hit a certain age. In the usa, after highschool you have to play a year in college or overseas then you can enter the draft.

    Since I am a American how does the soccer system work in Europe and the UK do you have to play in university to go pro or is the system different than the us like football baseball basketball in the us you have to go to university to be considered by the pros

    Finally got someone decent next to him in Kyrie (who btw everyone and their mom fckin wrote off) and oh would you look at that. Made the Finals just like that. AFTER missing the playoffs just the year before while adjusting to the Kyrie pairing.
    Oh and know where he was, before the year they missed the postseason? In the WCFs.

      “He” has the most first team all nba’s by a point guard since the 21st century started
      yes as in
      of every point guard to ever touch the court in the last 24 years, including curry, Luka has made first team the most
      He’s also already approached a top 20 all time peak individually
      34-9-10 is statistically the highest PRA in the last 70 years
      He also holds the record for most points per game ever generated in a single season
      He simultaneously had one of the most efficient rim finishing and volume shooting seasons ever at the same time
      Hes also made it farther in the playoffs as a first option than most ppl in the hall of fame

    There are a lot of factors obviously, but honestly I would probably take a 14 year old kid in Europe who plays for a pro team over a 14 year old kid living here who just plays for his high school and AAU.
    The euros a lot of the time are more fundamentally sound, have better coaching, better understanding of the court and angles for passing, etc.. the americans [and canadians, north Americans as you said] tend to be more athletically gifted, probably more talented players overall.. but everything is about them.
