With the Middletons William can just be William, which is what he needs from his partner. As such, he was able to open up to them about the realities of the Royal Family, about being the Queen's grandson. They have been good in-laws to him, which I think is what he needed in order to understand his grandmama.

I love the fact that he's been invited to join the family in watching the Queen's speech, and yet he just talks over the first part. 😅
This is where William learned everything. Service, duty, and selflessness! He learned right!
And his dad learned consumption, attitude and selfishness.

It isn't my desire to start yet another Diana vs Charles/Camilla debacle, but I would never use empathetic and intelligent to describe King Charles III. Perhaps emotional and more human, impulsive and true to his desires.

The actress playing the Queen did the voice tone and speech patterns quite well.
She also played Wallis Simpson in "The King's Speech"

Brilliant acting by all concerned in the clip. Every little detail is so carefully done.
She made so many incredible speeches.

Of all scenes in the Crown, this one seems like the biggest stretch of artistic liberties.
William always called Princess Margaret “Aunt Margot”. Never Princess Margaret.
I wonder if they included this mistake so casual viewers wouldn't get lost thinking Aunt Margot was someone else

I think she was destined at birth to be Queen. I doubt Edward VIII would have had children even if he would have dropped Wallace and married a nice aristocratic lady.
When she was born she was "in line to the throne". Which means if no additional people are born they will eventually become the monarch.
It was reported that Edward had the mumps which most likely made him sterile, so if he remained as king, George would still be first in line while the queen would've been 2nd and eventually become queen, it just would've came later.
@@commodorezero she was in line for the throne but she wasn't the first in line for the throne, she was third, after her uncle and father. And if her uncle didn't abdicate and had children, then after his children and grandchildren.
@@richie9308I read that it was Wallis who was sterile. She had 2 husbands before marrying Edward and didn't have children with any of them. They couldn't all 3 have been sterile.
So, if Edward didn't marry her, the history could have been different. Personally, I glad he did. He would've made a terrible king.

The actress playing Kate also looks nothing like her which is really sad considering how well they casted William, Diana and the other royals. She doesn’t even try to act like her. None of that warmth or enthusiasm in her.
