I heard there's a programmer in China who developed that ability to sit in chairs in video games. Maybe they could hire that guy for how many years it would take to implement this state of the art technology.
With the new depth-map system used on in-game sprites, such a feature probably isn't too far off. The main problem with sitting on chairs in vanilla is that you have to choose the parts of the 2d image that should render over and under the 3d character, respectively. The depth map system potentially solves this hurdle.
I’ve noticed terrible performance issues when I was clearing out zombies from Louisville in my no zombie respawns playthrough. The lag was so bad from all the zombies streaming out of the high rises that I thought my game might crash. My PC isn’t that great but it can run a lot of other games easily. I am very excited for that boost.

I feel like build 42 has an unexpected perk, which is: it's gonna make the game much more enjoyable for those who like to play it as a survival game, no zomboids. I do it sometimee, when I want to relax a bit, but it can get boring after a while.
Every thing is spot on, except for these things: Weapons & weapon parts-Absolutely Love It! Hunting-Really Enjoyable New media lore and story telling-Really Enjoyable (for all those lore enjoyers) Breakable Fences-Nice to have (Adds to realism and is just good.) This is from my personal opinion, everyone’s tier list is different.

One thing I wish they’d do is not focus so much on the woods survival stuff when the game is about zombie survival, some of us don’t want to run off to the woods and I get we still don’t have to, but where’s all our new stuff? Seems like the forest frolickers get all the attention 🙃
1. Performance 2. Lighting 3. Basement/Skyscrapers 4. Gun Changes 5. Hunting And the Meh's: Pottery, crafting, blacksmithing. (Im more interested in exploring the world and looting it, not crafting teacups and samurai swords 50 years later)
1. Animals-until zombies start murdering them. 2. Performance 3. All the crafting- cause I just can't with Hydrocraft rabbit holes anymore. 4. Storytelling- that will hopefully come with some sort of endgame/quests-something to do after you have a fortified base. 5. Farming Overhaul A lot of the "new" stuff just doesn't feel very new when mods have already added those things to the game. Weapons, bags, clothes, animations, jobs/traits, map expansions, music, farming, moodles, etc....all already modded into the game and my guess is that the mods will be better than whatever devs integrate into the game. So all the time and effort they are putting into developing these will not pay off since people already have access to these things and have already modded them to their liking. The biggest problem is that they are trying to perfect the game in EA but keep moving the goalpost of where 'perfect' is. And at this point, the finished product will NEVER live up to the "hype" of waiting years no matter how good it is or how much stuff they add. Duke Nukem Forever currently holds the title for game longest in development (15 years) and when it was released everyone was like "15 years for this? Big effing Whoop. Wasn't worth it." I fear the same thing will happen to PZ. They'll finally release it and their fan base will give it about a week of "Finally done, thank gods" posts before the "Big Effing Whoop" starts.
@Awpenheimer it's one of my biggest annoyances. I get I can't see but since it's a top down game it makes it look so janky. Even if it just was once you seen something it stayed Grey like a memory thing would have been better
Just finalized cure for zombie virus on a hardcore pz server. Next thing a maxed out sports car for a fun car. I am ready for 42 but still having a lot of fun with the current version.
as long as sandbox settings can be tinkered with, every update is great as you can remove what you dont like. i just have a problem with the idea of blacksmithed weapons being better than loot you find. if you look at games like minecraft, after diamonds became aquireable by villagers, minecraft lost a good reason for mining. while i enjoy the villager system, the update about how only certain villagers could give you certain enchantment books is great because that means you have to explore again. but i dislike it for the reason of how simple it is to just have a vanilla villager who could do it all. every update will be a give or take, it would be great if the scale was something along the lines of: simple wooden tools that break easily < simple hammers or knifes you find < blacksmithed tools < rare loot like katanas or large machine guns. but if the sandbox menu will still be able to tinker with these, i am more than happy.
Foraging biomes is underrated because it's not understand that will fix map construction-fishing-farming-spawn, it's much deep than foraging and it's true to the procedural generation. It's huge
@@RepostGuy101what an L take....these things add more flavor to the game, and guess what - you don't have to do everything. That's the beauty of it, different players can do different things and have fun
i love starting a new run completely naked in the forrest trying to survive not only the zombies but the elements aswell. atm this playstyle is rough and is missing a lot of features. its looking like in build 42 my prefered way of playing will be lot better! i cant wait for experimental.
I spoke to a pjz dev called RJ and he told me there was this whole genetic system for interspecies cross breeding like different breeds of cows and theres gonna be a genetics system
So, How do zombies interact with animals? Do the zombies attack them? Do the animals fight back? Do they run from zombies? Will the zombies chase them? Do animals make noise, and if so does it attract zombies? Will having a herd of Guard Cows and a bunch of Watch Deer be the new meta? How about Assault Chickens? Automatic animal powered kill boxes? 1. Animals 2. Hunting 3. Blacksmithing (Better Spears, Unlimited Long Blades, Better Axes, Craftable Sledgehammers. Crowbars?) 4. Farming, depending on how its done. They could easily ruin it as a reliable food source. 5. Toss up between skyscrapers and basements. Also, can I get cows up to the roof of a skyscraper? How about raising chickens in the basement? I`m worried about the Fishing changes. That`s usually a major source of food on most of my play throughs. This looks like it will take a lot of attention to play the mini game. Bows and crossbows would be at the top of the list if we knew more about them. Occupations, Skills and Traits. Well, they do need to be rebalanced, and some just need to be outright fixed. The Axeman trait from the Lumberjack doesn't seem to add the full 25% to swing speed, the Aiming and Reloading skills are soft capped at level 5, the visual portion of Sneaking doesn't seem to have any effect at all, etc... Some occupations are basically worthless, and some are overpowered. Yes these all need to be fixed.
Will be very interesting to see the interaction between zombies and animals.. Fishing definitely will be more hands on now, maybe you'll want to mix in some trapping + hunting!

Great video man
thanks bruh! :)
Animals & Husbandry
Hunting
Lore
Basements
Player Vocals
Vocals might just be quality of life, but it beats pure player silence quite a bit. I’m excited to explore more lore and read the information previous survivors have left for me.
Is that aquarium in the back of your mic? Very soothing(i dont know if i wrote that right, i meant calming alike word) to listen, the content is great and reassuring about every thing that the gonna add up, keep on goin!
@@gwnz9753 yeahh got 2 big ol’ aquariums next to me haha, thanks for watching!! :)
Changed Meh to "Sure"
Change Not a fan to "Okay"
Each of us have our own preferences. Like ill put vocals to Top Tier. It's a foundation for future updates
I mean with the amount of features coming, it's insane! No wonder it's taking a while lol, hype hype
Just started the video and already hitting like, Zomboid is life
@@lukebargodao haha, thanks!!
Craftable sledgehammer is CRAZY
Let's pray that those two laptops with the goods are not stolen....... again.
I feel like build 42 has an unexpected perk, which is: it's gonna make the game much more enjoyable for those who like to play it as a survival game, no zomboids. I do it sometimee, when I want to relax a bit, but it can get boring after a while.
Basements have a lot of potential, ESPECIALLY if you’re able to expand upon them by digging tunnels
Every thing is spot on, except for these things:
Weapons & weapon parts-Absolutely Love It!
Hunting-Really Enjoyable
New media lore and story telling-Really Enjoyable (for all those lore enjoyers)
Breakable Fences-Nice to have (Adds to realism and is just good.)
This is from my personal opinion, everyone’s tier list is different.
I'm also an animal lover, and I love them even more when they are well done.
You clearly like the game too much to do a fair rating 🤣 good video!
‘ Instead im in a shed ‘ i feel you bro
I absolutely HATE the idea of breakeable fences! therefore they go up in my top 5. I like emersion, and the indestructible fences kinda... breaks the elusion.
They remind me of that TWD Prison episode, epic
You don't think 200+ people pushing could knock down a chain link fence?
@@saikogosuhi think that’s where they got the idea
We have such content withdrawal in the zomboid Fandom that we have tierlists for features that haven't even been added yet
4:28 HANDMADE WELL HANDMADE WELL HANDMADE WELL
I am watching every single zomboid video i can find. B42 hype is KILLING ME
same I can't wait!!! gonna be awesome
Cant wait for someone to make a mod that allows you to play as tf2 characters with the new vocals. Tf2 always finds its way into other games
Step 1: choose doctor, step 2: name yourself doctor sex, step 3: fiddle around with the character creation, step 4: find a frying pan.
I mean technically we already have the engineer
Soy Tf2!!!

The Gravel Wars have spread to the realms of Rivals of Aether, Lethal Company, Valorant, and countless others. There’s no telling if it’ll ever truly end when fought on so many fronts
Gosh i love how much they put into just one update
2:13 That was Tommy Vercetti for sure
ngl hunting will make getting food & maintaining a good weight SO easy if deer give a realistic amount of venison. like, a deer should probably last one person at least 2 months irl.
Putting fences breaking from hordes in meh was evil, that deserved nice to have
animals, very high building, basments, new lightning system , optimalization and crafting all S or above tier. Because they are fundamental changes to the engine and modding. So modders have a lot more tools to work with . it's new era of modding. This game will be something completly new when it's comes to moding community 😊
I wonder if theyre gonna make animals vicious, like wild dogs and rats eating your food until there is none
One thing I wish they’d do is not focus so much on the woods survival stuff when the game is about zombie survival, some of us don’t want to run off to the woods and I get we still don’t have to, but where’s all our new stuff? Seems like the forest frolickers get all the attention 🙃
Maybe we'll get better stuff than just forest expansions in the next build, just gotta wait until 2027.
@@Hayzoid more like 2037
Insanely rare loot is gonna be fun af with some of these features, good video tho
in all honesty bows and crossbows will be a game changer especially if you like stealth.
For realll👌🏽
Hopefully can expand the basements to make underground bunkers
1. Performance
2. Lighting
3. Basement/Skyscrapers
4. Gun Changes
5. Hunting
And the Meh's: Pottery, crafting, blacksmithing. (Im more interested in exploring the world and looting it, not crafting teacups and samurai swords 50 years later)
That is what vanilla needed for a long time ago
Lighting is the big one for me makes the game look entirely different and much more pretty to look at
I can't wait to get the upper hand on the zeds with my 480Hz monitor
Id ask if you plan to update for unstable release but it'd probably be cooler seeing that as build 42 settles in.
1. Animals-until zombies start murdering them.
2. Performance
3. All the crafting- cause I just can't with Hydrocraft rabbit holes anymore.
4. Storytelling- that will hopefully come with some sort of endgame/quests-something to do after you have a fortified base.
5. Farming Overhaul
A lot of the "new" stuff just doesn't feel very new when mods have already added those things to the game.
Wasn't worth it."
I fear the same thing will happen to PZ. They'll finally release it and their fan base will give it about a week of "Finally done, thank gods" posts before the "Big Effing Whoop" starts.
3:45 also not mentioned with improved lighting you can see trees and small blockages dont fill your screen with straight line black bars from blockage
love that! big improvement
Kinda crazy how much they put into new lighting when the power shuts off like 8 hours into gameplay
i mean you can play in sandbox and change that
Poisoning some woa boa sounds a huge update for me
as long as sandbox settings can be tinkered with, every update is great as you can remove what you dont like.
i just have a problem with the idea of blacksmithed weapons being better than loot you find. if you look at games like minecraft, after diamonds became aquireable by villagers, minecraft lost a good reason for mining. while i enjoy the villager system, the update about how only certain villagers could give you certain enchantment books is great because that means you have to explore again. but i dislike it for the reason of how simple it is to just have a vanilla villager who could do it all.
every update will be a give or take, it would be great if the scale was something along the lines of:
simple wooden tools that break easily < simple hammers or knifes you find < blacksmithed tools < rare loot like katanas or large machine guns.
but if the sandbox menu will still be able to tinker with these, i am more than happy.
Worth he addition of animals there is exactly one question that matters...
When Dog?
Foraging biomes is underrated because it's not understand that will fix map construction-fishing-farming-spawn, it's much deep than foraging and it's true to the procedural generation. It's huge
i think the moodles will be polished by the time of the release
pz amazing ! waiting 2 years on b42 !
best devs on steam !
Putting basements and skyscrapers so low is a crime
Light is the most important, it will try to solve like 3 big bugs haven't fix in years.
Never let bro cook again
PZ is starting to look more like Stardew Valley.
yeah i didnt buy it just to play a downgraded stardew valley
@@RepostGuy101so then don’t farm or do anything they added, they didn’t change the base game much
@@RepostGuy101what an L take....these things add more flavor to the game, and guess what - you don't have to do everything. That's the beauty of it, different players can do different things and have fun
@@ChristoffRevan I would argue that no take is an L, just another opinion that you don’t like and that’s fine.
@@RepostGuy101 Dude you just love talking shit don't ya?
i love starting a new run completely naked in the forrest trying to survive not only the zombies but the elements aswell. atm this playstyle is rough and is missing a lot of features. its looking like in build 42 my prefered way of playing will be lot better! i cant wait for experimental.
Yeahh seems b42 is built for you!!!
They said it will release this year so we must be very close.
I spoke to a pjz dev called RJ and he told me there was this whole genetic system for interspecies cross breeding like different breeds of cows and theres gonna be a genetics system
That sounds crazy! Can’t wait to mess around with that
Damn it's a zombie game bro devs be cooking fr fr
@@_RG99_Zomboid is more a survival game with zombies than it is a zombie game, to be honest.
@@_RG99_after this update you could literally just turn zombies off, play a forest map and you would play the best survival game ever
pray for fluffies hair to get updated
So, How do zombies interact with animals? Do the zombies attack them? Do the animals fight back? Do they run from zombies? Will the zombies chase them? Do animals make noise, and if so does it attract zombies? Will having a herd of Guard Cows and a bunch of Watch Deer be the new meta? How about Assault Chickens? Automatic animal powered kill boxes?
1. Animals
2. Hunting
3. Blacksmithing (Better Spears, Unlimited Long Blades, Better Axes, Craftable Sledgehammers. Crowbars?)
Fishing definitely will be more hands on now, maybe you'll want to mix in some trapping + hunting!
it's been confirmed zombies aren't going to attack animals, zombies being present would raise the animals' stress level though
the noises animals make will attract zombies, but the zombies won't interact
Inventory management is going to be hell with this update Ngl 😭
Yeah NGL just waiting for them to re-add pushable furniture and NPCs
I'm sure my grandchildren will enjoy those features
Breakable fences is huge to me
