Found my first basement in the new build......i am going to be as vague as possible about the basement. Tv recorder, bed, red lights. The devs are wild. 😮
The fact that your "happy place" as you put it, is in a bathroom with a rubber toy is very intriguing. Intriguing indeed... lol, on a real note, love your content man.
Just found an event house - it was a Dungeons n Dragons game. Gaming dice (D20, D4, D8, etc) and comic books scattered across the floors, even an "RPG manual". Pretty funny.
Echo Creek was definitely how the devs planned to showcase the animals because they knew people were likely going to dive into a new location. I’m not upset about it because I got to pet a piggy.
Echo creek was a zone made for newer/less experienced players, there's almost no zombies there and the ones that are there are grouped up in avoidable hot spots, there's basically all the loot in the game spread across it, and its abundant in farming plants and animals for long term food plus a river for fishing, its just the noob zone with everything really.
I currently can't play the new build right now but i will soon. But thank you so much for picking the new profession and doing gameplay of it. I really wanted to see how well it was
Regarding the map at the intro, you say how so many new players jumped into their first game and had no idea where they were in relation to the rest of the map- But it's worse than that. A LOT of newbies thought that the place they selected to spawn was the entire map- Like, If you select Muldraugh, Muldraugh is the map you play on and if you wanted to play in Riverside, you had to start a new save and select riverside. So many newbies had no idea that the map is as enormous as it actually is, that you could travel between all the spawn towns and even more. Further, The big map is the first in-game representation of the map and I think it will lead to a lot less people relying on the zomboid map project, because there's now an in-game way to view all the connecting roads n whatnot. I 100% love the new big map they show during the spawn selection for that more than anything else.
Yay I was so sad when I watched the video on the other channel and it hadn't been posted here yet :) watched the review before work today and I just finished so I'm going to relax and watch before bed now :)
A metlaworking punch is a spike like object that u use to dent the metal with a small indent so u can drill a hole without the drill bit walking around the metal. It ensures ur hole u make is exactly where u want it
Muscle strain is something I found it to be okay and a welcome balancing maybe, just the default value might be a little too high (using it on a lower value like 0.6 feels fine to me) Picking fights feels like it has more weight now, and with stealth being more reliable too it's interesting to decide between engaging or sneaking past

Have they changed how easy it is to find guns. 30 min in and I have 6 m9, with 6 unopened boxes ammo. 2 pump shotguns, 1911 w 5 reloads, hunting rifle with 3 boxes of .308?
I always play with extremely rare loot and 12 months later so i didn't find anything at all. Extremely feels like insanely, now. But when i tried for the first time, with no 12 months later, even with extremely rare loot i was finding many items
I've never played the game.. curious question. Could one pick up a radio, turn it on full volume, place it somewhere and use it as a diversion in a pinch?
Does anyone know how to stack the wooden crates you create in the building menu? I know in b41 i could do it but seems i cant stack in b42 despite there being room
So I wanted to know - is the new zombie distribution in? I haven't really noticed a change, still the same to me - big clumps in random areas and so on. Thought it was meant to have changed?
It feels significantly more packed in urban areas than it did before, I genuinely have a hard time navigating compared to build 41 without running into hoards. Especially in larger buildings, they are flooded.
Yes, and it's way different to before. Echo Creek is mostly quiet due to it's rural location, you won't find many zombies on roads unless they're in wandering groups, and downtown areas are significantly busier.
Just to be sure, I can still switch between B41 and B42 right? I got my best game still running with an insane base, a prison BearBus straight out of Mad Max and a plethora of QOL mods that I'd hate to lose... Not while I'm still alive and on my way to Louisville (I never managed to reach it so far. This is my "see Louisville and die" run)
I'm pretty sure it's called "Cluedo" everywhere except in the USA and Canada, where they probably though "Cluedo" sounded too Mexican (it's meant to be a mash-up of "Clue" and "Ludo", BTW).
Yeah, not being able to use running water sucks. It is pretty silly that water in the recipient used in the receipe is also not considered, like when adding pasta to a cooking pot, even if the cooking pot is full of water you need ANOTHER pot with water to complete the recipe!
and i personally prefer the new moodles because they scale better with higher resolutions, like 4K. those old moodles were tiny and hard to see, and were also in a weird sort of pixel art that doesn't look good if you just increase the size of the moodle visually.
Installed build 42 last night. My title screen is still the original one, and I am unable to view any magazines, newspapers, or any other ingame media?
They fixed the title screen because people were complaining, and most magazines are not viewable yet. or you may have not enabled it correctly, but this is most likely the reason
I think muscle strain as a concept is hugely relevant to untrained people forced into new, high stress environments and using tools in new, often unfamiliar motions. However, not as sure how fun this constraint will be to manage in a game. For sure though, we can each find a happy place on the muscle strain slider, from 0 to 1. In 25 years of training HEMA (longsword, arming sword, staff, spear, dagger, baton, poleaxe, as well as some found-object practice), I have been significantly in and out of shape 3 times, or else ran into sport specificity deficiencies when I picked up a new tool. Early on, the stress of entering new, unfamiliar competitive formats caused me to misjudge and mismanage my strength, and I frequently ended up exhausting or straining myself b/c I didn't know my limits well enough to realize when I was close to those limits, under stress. If I had to learn how to husband my daily limit of exertion this way, it'd definitely make the zombie apocalypse more of a run and hide thing, making tough decisions and gambles on whether to spend some of that physical capital on trying to knock out an isolated zombie before more get dragged into the fight. Seems really cool, but I'll have to give it some hours to see how it plays!
Im always using high thirst in my builds i know its kinda op for +6 when u can just always carry a water but damn they nerfed it so hard they should like +2 or 3 instead of +1

Echo Creek was a bit of a letdown for me, my character was clipping through half of the furniture in the houses. Hopefully it's because of the shoddy, rushed release of B42 and it'll get fixed....maybe....at some point. Also, if they (eventually) get around to 'upgrading' the controller support in the same way that they have 'upgraded' the firearm aiming, I'd rather play this game with a pen and paper.

@@valinorhelena I have no mods, I deleted everything and installed fresh game on build 42, so no added content. The reason you cant wash the bandage is just because its the beta and unstable. It says in the beginning that some features will be unavailable. I believe that would be one of them
I have to say it everytime someone says that. The cost of a house is proportional to income levels. If you in the 90s, you wouldn't be making the income you do today. You would be making about 1/4 what you make today....hence your 190
OK, I opened this can of worms, so here I go.... Housing prices are not a global price structure. If you bought a house in rual anywhere, they were way sub 100k. Because the home prices were reflective of the income potential of the location. We judge the past based on today's understanding. If you were to buy a house in San Francisco in the 90s, it would be an easy 1mil...at least. Because at that time the computer industry was in its boom and there were extremely good paying jobs. The internet of the 90s is not what we have today. You couldn't work as a streamer then. Internet ran at 48-56kb/s. It would be a really bad pixel stop motion production. So you would have to work the jobs of the area, or move to the job's location. If it was in an area of high paying jobs, then you would have paid alot more. Then there was this huge migration flux we have seen over the last 15-20 years in every western society. Putting massive demand on resources. More folks looking for work, keep wages lower. More people buying houses, raise prices. Today's world is not the same. There was no opportunity to reach out to a global audience for your job unless you lived in a very expensive city.....and earned that bigger pay cheque to compensate for those costs. The reason rual properties now are so high, it because of the income potential brought in from the internet, and the massive pressure from influx of people restraining the local economy. So yes, in the 90s, the price of a home was based on the income potential. But blanketing that statement globally is unrealistic. And that's why I feel I must say it everytime someone says that.
@mratomicduckvods defending is not what I'm doing. I wish we could go back to the 1700s so nobody had to pay for land in North America. But then I realized what we would have yo give up to have that opportunity again. I AM happy for you to buy your first home. You have alot of good things happening in your life over last year. I mearly am trying to clarify the misconception of applying today's financial reality to 30+ years ago's. The internet is a major game changer to the value of location.
Take the items out of your backpack to fill/use them....Empty container in inventory, right click water source - fill, not that hard man. Nothing about this need fixing. Don't blame the game because you don't know how to play.

Choosen map doesn't matter, the character skills/stats, or the scenario the same. I tweaked the graphic options in many different ways, and reinstalled the game from start too. Build 42 just doesn't want to work for me ^^
edit: After the update on saturday the game finally works. I have no idea what was the issue though.
Did you turn off all your mods?
@@valinorhelena I have no mods, I deleted everything and installed fresh game on build 42, so no added content. I also used resolution calibration for the game and my display monitor, changed the graphic card setting etc. It always ends with black screen while I can hear the gameplay in the background (when I tried CCDA I heard as my character cought fire and died while I couldn't see or do anything in the game ^^)
Older AMD cards just don't work for now btw
@@Damien-ms8nt I have AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT. I don't think it's that old already ^^ And after watching many yt videos and changing everything I could the game still didn't work. Not untill they gave and update 2 days ago.
@Lezeroth unfortunate, but glad it's working. Was just saying since I was aware of older cards having issues similar to those you described
1-:03 queue everyone clapping
Knee pads are also minor uncomfortable it says so in the info
Not a hyperpolyglot gigachad, just a fake
The reason you cant wash the bandage is just because its the beta and unstable. It says in the beginning that some features will be unavailable. I believe that would be one of them
If you don't know yet, you still can wash the bandage though, just need water bottle in your inventory.
I miss the new start-up images. Who cares if they are AI!
People who prefer human art
Tom-AH-to
so many map symbols and still none of a car or truck 🥲
I have to say it everytime someone says that.
The cost of a house is proportional to income levels. If you in the 90s, you wouldn't be making the income you do today. You would be making about 1/4 what you make today....hence your 190
"The cost of a house is proportional to income levels." sry, but plain wrong
In 93 it's way closer to 1/2 than 1/4th at 2.3% yearly.
Crazy that you're defending people having to wait until they're 40 to get their first home that they truly own tbh.
😂the man in the project zombiod picture is hugging a long haired bearded woke man
Ok.
Take the items out of your backpack to fill/use them....Empty container in inventory, right click water source - fill, not that hard man. Nothing about this need fixing. Don't blame the game because you don't know how to play.
dislike so far. Not a fan of the new (?) push over animations, the zeddeathsounds are less satisfying,
i can´t sterilize in boiling water anymore, something every PZ player does in the first 5 min.
Nothing heard about the npcs. Great new furniture pieces, cool locations and much more difficult to raise your headcount.
Interesting new crafting stuff, but... no updated zombie loot :(
We´ll stay with B41 a while :)
Tbf nobody was expecting npc’s
@mrcheese5383 I love the courage to put the Open Beta for all to test out. That's how it should be. I m comming from 3months of bandits day one 😎
