Amish life looks so much less hectic and stressful than going to university and struggling in the job market. It looks so nostalgic with the wooden, covered bridge and riding in a buggy. It's cool that Miriam and her Dad are so knowledgeable about Amish history. With mobile telephones, at least they're small, easy to hide and there are no wires. It would be handy for parents to call their children and say, "Dinner is ready! Where are you?"
Hi everyone, i talked to amish guy before, they are so nice and good talkers. I was surprised cause was the first time i talked to them, and now i know a little more about them, miriam looks very pretty.....have a nice day.
@nurseally1976 Happy you enjoyed. Just got off the phone with Jack. He said he wants to do more videos to share his life, and wants to do an Amish Wedding part two !
great video always wanted to go on the amish ride in lanaster pa but never get that chance time always get cut short surprised they let you video tape them but again theyre changing little by little too keep up the good work
Life before computers and technology seems so SLOW. Everything moves so fast in information era. Got 8 different things trying to grab your attention at any moment. This life looks a lot calmer, you can actually look at someone else and talk to them.
Im really fascinated about the Amish people. Did you leave them and where are you living now? I am from the countryside myself, in a place in Europe and I am a little bit old fashioned, so I am a big fan of the Amish way of living, it would be a dream come true to see or experience the Amish way of life some day.
lol! Okay. I see. I live near lancaster, PA but my religion is pentecostal/apostolic. I have always been fascinated by how you live. Fascinated by the fact that among all the things in life that's going on, you still stick to what you believe is true... which should be that way for all religions. You're just different from the outside appearance, I think that's what I'm trying to say.
@ohiodeerhunter21 Sure is. Married with children too. Funny, there's a new Amish dating site going around, probably saw it on youtube, that is using her picture without permission. Anybody know how I can remedy this for Jack. I never saw him so upset.
"stuck in time" seems like a bit of an inaccurate description of the amish. they're extremely frugal and extremely pious and extremely communal, and even though those are somewhat old qualities, as people they seem completely modern. in fact with things like community-based economics coming back into fashion in the "english" world, you could say that the amish were, in many ways, a couple hundred years ahead of their time.
The Amish life looks so much less hectic and stressful??? There are things they do that they will probably say IS very hectic and stressful. The one I can't understand is not using a car but having to use a horse and buggy or walking to whereever they need to go. I know all Amish do not share that tradition, but I know many still do. That has GOT to be hectic and stressful. Also, not using electricity.
Jeremy Clarkson explains the "Horsepower" situation quite well actually. If you go to /watch?v=zylGvJz9DmI and start watching from 1:27, that is where he begins his lession on "Horsepower" :)
If you try to figure anything out, you will eventually be confused. Amish, like any religion, is a 'fruit basket' - people pick and choose what they want to believe, and what is conducive for their survival. Many Amish and Mennonites are changing their ways simply because they don't want to be homeless, and all it takes is to just change their church.

Miriam and her father seem like lovely folk.

Thank you for your comment. AmishJack has a great family. I always love producing videos for them. Keep your eye 'peeled' for a new video soon.
I love her driving. She did not use the whip at her driving.and she talked to the horse lovely.
"Do you have a cell phone?"
"We're not supposed to have cell phones!"
"That's not what I asked..."
".... yes, I have a cell phone..."
Great little video! She was a wealth of information!
My great uncle had a farm in Amish Country, he grew corn. I learned how to walk there.

I'll tell her what you said. She loves to hear the comments.
I very love her driving because she didn't holding or use the whip at her driving.
As a matter of fact ,whip is used to activate the horse while driving.,It is not at all harmful
Miriam, You're beautiful for an Amish lady.
And you're very complimentary for an idiot.
@@Highley1958 Compliments are good. You must have a low intelligence level to not be able to understand a "beautiful" comment.
i really like this video if it gets taken off pleas put it back on.

@AppleSouffle Oh yea, it's less hectic, but there's a catch, an Amish Waylay, if you would.....but, it's all free-will.
@Intocable8306 But how about the smell, that goes along with the hoofs.

How far can the horse go before it tires?
+Jim Papay ...no one knows, it's relative to the horse.
It doesn't tire, it has hooves
Depending honestly on how fast the horse is running or walking per mile!
si alte adaaha of amish sinn
Yeah but how much Horsepower?
Jeremy Clarkson explains the "Horsepower" situation quite well actually. If you go to /watch?v=zylGvJz9DmI and start watching from 1:27, that is where he begins his lession on "Horsepower" :)
Amish Uber Service
I'm confused. I thought Amish weren't allowed to use computers??? I'm assuming some amish believe in using the computer and some don't?
I'd like to take Miriam for a ride in the back of her buggy.
sie ist alte adaaha of amish

Yeah, but poking and jabbing at the earth all day to make crops grow must get tiring.
Wearing a covering and dress doesn’t make you Amish. No distinct accent and Meyer isn’t an Amish last name. Nice try though.
