actually Siem Reap that is siem Rath in Thailand meaning under siam colonize before French colony. Basically Siem Reap even been land of Thailand.
@@Krit001 Siem Reap means Siam Defeated or Siamese Leveled to the ground. This was a civil war in the early 1500's time frame when the Khmer king defeated the Siamese army that tried to invade the area. After that, the Khmer king named it Siem Reap. There's no such name as Siem Rath, only fabricated story to cover up the true history of what happened.
The name Thailand never existed until around 1937-1939 when the new name came about after so many Chinese (TAI Chinese) living in the countrty with the native Khmer people. Both Thai and Cambodian citizen are Khmer descendants with different groups of Chinese immigrant from China mixed in. Remember, real history are being suppressed by the corrupted elites so they can control society to their advantage and keep people in ignorance. Think out of the box instead of believing in your controller or government. Blessed it be!

Its good you went with a company like Ibis, done professionally. A lot of negative due to tourists not doing any homework on crossing plus that area isnt regulated properly like the airports.
There are always pros and cons no matter where we are. Can't compare Cambodia to their neighbors as it has come a long way since the civil war was officially ended in 1998. The country has only been developing within the last 20 years. Be open minded and be kind whenever possible as life is short to do the things we don't love doing. The border crossing at Poipet has improved a lot, especially after the train from Bangkok now goes all the way to the Thai Border village Baan Khlong Luk and not only to Aranyaphrathet.
In old times it was a real hassle for Farangs with a lot of scammers along the way from Aranyaphratet station to the actual border. Scammers even had set up a fake "Cambodian Consulate" there.
Now from train you go directly to Thai border control and then to Cambodian border control. Easy, and no hassle.
With the coach service it looks similiar (never took the bus).
Have a nice stay in Siam Reap and of course in Nakhon Wat/Nakhon Tom.

I think you made a good choice by choosing a reputable Khmer bus company, as they will take you to the destination. The problems I've always encountered here in the past is when the two countries use their own bus companies either side of the border, even though it's one through ticket. Probably applies in other countries too - use a bus company of the destination country. The best choice though is to fly if you can get a decent price fare. I heard the train now operates to/from the border but it doesn't go to Siem Reap. You'd have to change to a bus/taxi at Sisophon or Battambang
Yes! Always try to go all the way through… we had it in some Eurasian countries where you have to organize transport on the other side of the border to continue (like from Turkey to Georgia) and it’s always an issue 🤣🙏🏻 Giant Ibis was really great and easy to use

The visa for us was 40 USD - that is including the services from the Company. If you go by yourself I believe it’s 36 USD… unfortunately you have to pay in USD and the money has to be in perfect condition 🙏🏻 good luck on your journey!

I’m Cambo -American, watching from Massachusetts. I would say you are much safer to travel Cambodia than in the United State. I noticed a lot of Thai people bad mouthed Cambodia. Evidently, they have not travelled outside of their borders. Life is too short, explore and enjoy.

My wife is Cambodian. Far nicer and not lazy. It is fun to support her growth as she supports mine. Thailand has pros and cons but Cambodia can be safer ..police enforce laws better and much better air quality in provinces. Major to us us together away from humans except family.
