This is a truly excellent video, and when I heard "we could be free, finally" and saw the images you picked on screen, I got an idea for a fanfiction (tumblr style, sort of) in which both Thor AND Loki fall off the bifrost, end up under Thanos' control, try and fail to take over Midgard, and then, partly freed from Thanos's control, went on a mission to destroy as many infinity stones as possible before Thanos got to them (them being either the stones or Loki and Thor). So I'm really excited about that :) Also, in writing a tumblr-style fanfic, I kept watching this over and over so that I could get ideas of how the fic should go starting at the end of THOR and continuing all the way to THOR RAGNORAK's equivalent in the 'fic 'verse. Every time, it was just as good as before -- in fact, it got better with repeat viewings -- and thank you so much for sharing it with us!

So, I came back here just after having rewatched 2 scenes from the first Thor movie: the scene where Thor asks Loki (through The Destroyer) to take his life in order to spare those of the other people, and the scene where they are both hanging off the broken Bifrost bridge and Loki says, "I could have done it... for you... for all of us!" only for Odin to say "No". It's an ill-timed "no" which doesn't make much parenting sense. Odin is, however, just stating a fact (because obviously Loki couldn't have "done it for you - for all of us"; he is not yet willing to sacrifice the outward display of power and self-aggrandisement at this point, since he hasn't yet made that journey as a character). However, come back to this after Infinity War (2018). What Thor does when he offers his life up to the Destroyer in Thor (2011) is exactly what Loki does with Thanos in the first 10 mins of Infinity War (2018). Essentially Loki substitutes himself for his brother while simultaneously reconciling himself to the identity of being Odin's son and realising that true power and kingship comes from the willingness to make sacrifice. In one brilliant move he engineers Thanos' choice and makes Thanos kill him (knowing that Thanos will spare Thor since he only kills one of each pair), and thereby saves Thor, makes amends for his behaviour in Thor (2011), and is finally found "worthy" himself, as Odin's son. The unseen dramatic presence in the first scene of Infinity War is actually Odin. Odin would have been proud that BOTH of his sons attained the same lesson eventually. It's a very powerful scene, well acted by TH. Loki knows what he's doing right up till the end and his last words to Thanos are calculated not just to needle him but are consistent with having learnt this lesson: being a "king", or a "god", is not about forcing people to kneel to you a la The Avengers (2012) or what Thanos was doing in Infinity War, but it is the act of self-sacrifice and substitution which is closest akin to the behaviour of a God. Soooooo.... Loki FINALLY grasped "worthiness", or "king-ship", in that last act of his life. He died Odin's son not just in name but in nature: he 'did it for [Odin], did it for Thor, did it for all of them'. In the words of this video, Loki IS finally "free". (This would of course have led to his becoming a somewhat redundant character had Loki lived as he can no longer be the antagonist, so the Russo brothers in one fell swoop closed that Loki arc with a bang and provided the emotional setup for Thanos as the new Big Bad. What a feat of storytelling!) Methinks I am leaving too many comments of the same nature in various places on RUclips, but I find it quite mindblowing.
