Great video - don’t be too hard on these Marshalls dude - they get a briefing in the morning telling them what’s what and they are just following direction from above - it’s all insurance, litigation, risk assessment nonsense. Great editing dude really slick.
Yer i have a lot of respect for the marshals and what they do. Just the way they spoke to me put me straight on the back foot. He basically said I couldn’t film or take photos anywhere on the premises not just the pit lane wall which wasn’t right. I did head up and speak with the race control afterwards and they explained what’s involved. Just a lot of box ticking and paperwork. Just wanted to film some race cars from all angles
What a turnout of cars that is - love the Anglia with the eco boost! We are having similar issues with a misfire on the Anglia also now running the same ECU - will need to look into the same sensor as this car to show all 4 cylinders. Thank you 👏🏻
@@mikefpe it’s SR20DET - more setup for road use and drag racing but recently got the ecumaster setup as well - just getting through the teething issues. (Anglia is my dads also I just try and help)

I rarely get to see my customer engine builds in their new homes Mike - great to see my Ecoboost and Steve with the Angle box - looks like it's working nicely 🙂

This stuff they,re saying you can & can,t do is beyond the pale but is,unfortunately,yet another manifestation of the chill hand of "elf & safety",litigation etc.Perhaps you should visit some hillclimbs which,thankfully,are still fairly ok in this respect.It,s not the fault of the marshals who do a great job & are just following instructions although there is always the odd "jobsworth"! Did they allow you to go to the toilet?!!!!!!!!
Silverstone sucks as a circuit layout since they changed it so they could keep F1 money coming in. I guess the F1 money still isn't enough if they feel the need to rinse everyone. One track I have zero interest in visiting, much less driving on. Good luck to them, I guess lol
They are a big set up with big overheads so yer it ends up costing for everyone who visits. That said I don’t think I need to pay them anything to get a bib. Just have to have my own insurance. Which will cost me
I think steve is thinking big wing and front splitter. Need to be careful as wings on anglias always look a bit odd. Will be function over form I think.
In regards to the eco-boost engine management, is anyone ditching the D.I and just running Port injection yet? I've seen at least one D.I platform (maybe Bmw, can't recollect) use blank off plates in the head or just leaving the D.I injector in, but redundant, and have good results. Seems a way easier solution. Just looked up the MBE D.I ecu.. man it's pricey. Not Syvecs pricey, but still.
That would be my route. I even dreamt up using a 1 ltr eco boost in my Anglia. With a suck through su carb on the turbo. Locked off cam timing and a daewoo Matis 3 cylinder dizzy on a belt drive. I’d call it the un-ecoboost ecoboost 😂😂😂

Sorry Mike, but take a step back, u've driven track if every doofus with a camera or whatever drops it on track then .....if I have to explain.....plus surely if your a Guest of a 'Well Recognised ' competitor you'd have a Lanyard with a Pass, makes the Marshal's life easy dude, unfortunately there is an element selfishness within your response to a person volunteering to maintain safety. Beautiful cars.
I should have said I totally respect the marshals and what they do. On this occasion however it was the way I was spoken too and what I was trying to get across is what the difference between me standing there with a camera or standing there with a camera and a bib on.
Unfortunately a lot of tracks in the uk now 100% including silverstone & Brands hatch are marshalled by old men / jobsworths that work for passion and nostalgia, not for a wage. Great for them! bad for people trying to get a foot in the door whether that be a photographer or a novice racer Even worse for Joe Public. They’re killing the vibe and the sport.
I should have said in the video how much respect I have for the Marshall’s and what they do. But that little interaction really wound me up. The dust has settled and I will look properly into getting public liability cover as I’m dedicated to getting as much decent footage as possible. If that means ticking the right boxes then so be it.
Yes I completely agree 99% of Marshall’s do a great job and in all forms of motorsport safety first has got to be top of their agenda, but also a little common sense in situations like yours wouldn’t go a miss, I had a equally bad experience with a member of MSV staff they behaved completely inappropriately to the situation and when I spoke to the manager they was very apologetic and a little embarrassed.
Look how much more respect they have for there foreigns as opposed to USA and how we treat ours😂 most of these fords we never even got, everything’s is so backwards it’s hilarious
