I like the way that each instrument is playing at different pace and a different melody but at the end of the day it all harmonizes perfectly. It's kinda like the gem community metaphor. Each of them us unique and has its own role but they work perfectly with each other. But there is also something deeper. This feeling of longing for freedom, or the feeling of curiosity, desire of self-discovery. It's really hard to explain.

Phos started off as one melody, and so many things happened in their lifetime. it is still the same song, at the very end, but the melody is no longer the same. phos is still called phos, and will still identify as phos. but what originally made them who they were was changed so much, that the original version--the original melody--no longer exists. you can hear the melody undergo changes throughout the song, and it leaves us with the final pattern.

Their metamorphosis and how they ended up is both scary and intriguing. It's surly is the best study of Theseus's ship in modern pop-culture. If we replace broken parts with spare ones is it still the same Phos? And if not, at wich point they've become a new identity. I cannot stress enough how very complex of a character our little sentient rock is.

Honestly the best instrumental for an anime opening I've ever heard. The first minute or so is especially incredible.
