Oh my God there was so much angst. I could have lived without some of the angst! But the music is still my favorite so I get to relive those moments over and over again every time I hear one of the songs! FML

+hickoryhop Yup, time and time again I am disappointed and shocked from poor live performances, this one is no different (altough the singing is one of the worst I've heard).
Me neither,it sounds awesome,In 2010,2011 and 2012,they played like they wanted to sound more live! I love all live versions of Black hole sun,but this is special,it's sounds like a studio version
hickoryhop yea i was thinking the same thing, I've looked all over and their live version is so flat and unenthusiastic. I've heard they hate this song and never wanted to release it but that just sounds like one of those pretentious moments where artists criticise the song that made them iconic... like fuck though... it's the song that lead many people to become soundgarden fans, play it properly for them.
Some people have precious soul, and when they die, you start to believe in God, only because you don't want their souls to vanish forever. Chris Cornell was one of them.
I love the song and I miss Chris. when this song was number one on the radio, I was 13 and was in a boat accident. My foot was cut off. On the way to the emergency room the only thing I remember was this song on the radio. It helped me stay awake. Thanks Chris and why’d you do it.
Everyone hating on the song, but I actually prefer this over the recorded studio version. The slow tempo gives it such a melacholic and lost feeling, and even though Chris said there wasn't any real meaning behind this song, he did say that it definitely wasn't supposed to be happy or optimistic, so I think a slower tempo like this actually makes sense..
That very first three words of the song "in my eyes" are without a doubt the hardest part of the song by far. (if you're singing the official studio version). I wonder how many times it took Chris to hit it just rather right in the final version. I love watching all the live versions of this song, just to see how he navigates the first three words, and of course, I love the song and he has the most beautiful voice I ever heard

At least Kim didn't saturate this performance with heavy effects ( chorus and tremolo)in each verse , so this is close to the studio version ( kind of slow though)
Wesley Gamarra kim used a leslie amp during recording and used a hughes and kettner rotosphere to emulate it live, educate yourself before you talk shit!
Soundgarden is and always will be Frontmen Kira and Justin, drums Matt Cameron Kimmy on guitar and Colin on Bass...TOUR FEBRUARY 2019 SPREAD THE WORD JUSTIN AND KIRA, we will Kimmy
This song captured the 90s vibe very well, through the eyes of youth angst. It was a wild time to be a kid.

You could do better?
Some people have precious soul, and when they die, you start to believe in God, only because you don't want their souls to vanish forever. Chris Cornell was one of them.
Beautifully put. We DO miss him badly...
That’s it 💜
❤
God is out there. Maybe this song is biblical.
Some of us awaken to the "I AM". We are the one spoken about in Scripture.
1995: when the sleeves of your t-shirt absolutely, positively HAD to come down to your elbows.
damn you got a big fucking head
It's a longsleeve, not a t-shirt. ;)
Were you even self aware at that time?
it can happen to anyone

Were they able to reattach it? Sorry if this question is offensive
What happened to your leg afterwards?

The true meaning is for the world to just end and be washed away and for everything to end bc somehow that’s how people feel
The guitar and drums are mean in this performance. And I actually like Chris’s slower tempo
What the fuck. This footage is so good, especially for 1995
Matt used to be such a creative drummer. Now he's just a "drummer" in Pearl Jam.
Nobody asked
agree... a monster in SG
I don’t know where they went in this performance but my god I’d want to go there too

There drunk hahaha..this is why Axel freaks about cameras cause when u have a night like this no one would know
implying this is bad which is not
How could they have the same Sound guy throughout their careers struggling with 2.5 for like ten years... Unreal
What do you mean by 'struggling with 2.5'?
Presumably 2.5k or 2500Hz of feedback that you can hear on a lot of their 90s recordings.
Guitar shines through on this version. Love it.

Best live version of this song
Bamstarter This and live at MTV 1996
and in london 94?
no one sings like you anymore
great solo :s
Chris going lazy on the vocals while the rest of the band brings it. Love every member, but let's be real here...
Suicide doesn’t take away the pain it gives it someone else
Sorry for stupid question but is that a Duo Jet that Chris is using ?
Yup and he used one for the music video to
Not the same man ,or performance.. warning sign right here
Cameron was excellent in Soudgarden, while in PJ he was just another drummer
Soundgarden used to bring the best of them all
Pearl Jam's music has always been very pedestrian compared to the music Cornell created...
Especially slow
He sounds as if he dragging his lyrics
a bit.....just my opinion.
I see nothing wrong with this performance why our people saying their lost? It seems fine to me?
They went off by the end
Derek Charette they went off by the end I know it went bad fuckin christ no need to rent
Derek Charette man, you’re a loser
I rather hear a drunk Soundgarden than any of those trash bands man. Jesus, Dave Mathews Band?!? Really?
Derek Charette machine gun kelly??? Really??? Dude I’d rather listen to soundgardens worst show than machine gun Kelly’s best
Best live is this Chris Cornell - 12) Black Hole Sun (Argentina 2007)
by far, the best is in london 94
how did you do that

Kick drum is definitely off, sheesh

Inevitable que el batero de Soundgarden no me haga recordar a Dave Grohl en la epoca de Nirvana
La batería me asesina...
He was lost af
no, they are on beat, its just 2% slower
O
Uhg.
Cornell sounds beyond fucked up in this
Ummmm??? 😕
This is the most grunge song of grunge
hardly...🤣
This is awful. They sound tired and bored
damn very slow tempo....the band were lost,,,
what a waste
lol this is within 3 BPM of the studio version sooooooo youre dumb.
This is one of the worst drum performances I have ever heard from a pro band.
Guns N' Roses plays it waaay better than themselves
They have a version of it? Probably hot garb but I'll try it out
FUCK ME, THIS IS BAD COMPARED TO THE RECORDED/ MUSIC VIDEO VERSION - LIVE BANDS IS A MYTH ... MOST OF THE TIME
Chris reminds me of Kurt so much its almost scary they are the best frontmen in grunge Always 🎸🧍🎸🙏💋💋💋🌚🌚♥️🔥💯🥰❤️🔥🎸🙏🧍🌚♥️♥️♥️♥️
