I am floored that you guy didn't touch on what happened to her in 2003. It was the first Evo that I ever went to, back in the golden age of the FGC (the year before moment 37). Ricki and Daigo were playing 3S on the big screen, far into the tournament. The very last game, one of the most tense I've seen before or since, they both had a pixel of life left, trading full screen fireballs and pokes until the time ran out. Tie game - Judgement. Characters turned paddles, and fuckin Ricki won. She jumnped out of her chair and started pumping her fists. She beat Daigo on the big stage, crowd erupts. Well...as it would happen, the officials thought of this and made it public before the event that any Judgement would result in the round being replayed. Basically they'd start the game over, and they would set up the second round again (Ricki up one, no super bar for either player). Daigo went full Daigo and beat her pretty handily. I was in the crowd that day, I'll never forget it. ruclips.net/video/HvTywRL3-bw/видео.html Ok one more - if you've ever heard "what are you standing up for??" from anybody in the FGC, that came from her too. In SF4 she was playing Wolfkrone and he had a premature pop off thinking his ultra would kill, and it didn't. So he sat back down quickly to try and knock the last bit of life and kill her, and she came all the way back. Just destroyed him. Afterwards, she stood up quickly and punked him, and said "What are you standing up for??". ruclips.net/video/KsmykJiCceg/видео.html Some of the greatest classic FGC moments were because of her, and she's finally getting the spotlight. I really enjoyed the doc, but if you'd allow me a critic, the segway from 3S to SF4 felt weird 'cause the narration goes from saying that the FGC was in risk of ending to saying that the popularity of the genre was surging without some development in between. Also, there's a 9 year gap between 3s and SF4, but the way the story is narrated makes it seem like their release was not far apart from each other, which can confuse someone not familiar with the story. I feel like that undermines the argument of the FGC's uncertain future and diminishes the impact SF4 had when it was released.
