    Green Goblin in Spider-Man (2002): *slaps Spidey on the back and chats to him like they're hanging out by the office watercooler*
    Green Goblin in No Way Home: "I'm going to break Spider-Man psychologically, smash his lego, then feast on his organs while he's alive".

    I really like Michael Giacchino's music in these Spider-Man films. I agree that the music in the original Raimi trilogy and James Horner's in Amazing Spider-Man really are quite memorable but when I saw this movie on release day, I was singing Michael's main theme during the credits and even humming it to myself on the drive home.

      I'm so glad they used Horner's TASM theme instead Hans Zimmer's bland ASM2 theme that sounded like he farted it out after 5 mins.

Although the scenes are quite similar, no way home's fight is really messy and dark, you never get a good look at the action while spider-man 3's is always readable and really well lit, the colors pop, it's easy to follow, it's still a joy to watch.

    "Peter has the BRIGHT idea to contact Dr. Strange" I like that dig :D People are so stupid in this movie, not a single motivation makes sense. The first scene sets it up perfectly. With his identity known, people close to him are in danger. What does he do? Put every one in even MORE danger, the bigger the threat is getting. When he has 5-6 villains against him, he puts them into a room with his aunt and gives their only weakness to his girlfriend, while not allowing her to use it...

    • @Solarstar10

      It's almost like Peter is a young kid, being overwhelmed by basically everyone calling for his head on a pike, and that he'd want to go to the one person he knows could possibly fix it. Your latter criticism is fine. But it makes complete sense that he'd ask Strange for help in this situation. How was he supposed to know that he'd open a literal multiverse?

    I really feel like I saw a different movie than most people. No Way Home has all the same flaws people complained about in Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 2 but people ignore them here because of nostalgia from those franchises. There are great moments but this is a terrible movie.

    • @Lucas43434
      @Lucas43434 2 года назад +1

      I agree. Spider-Man 3 suffered a bit from having too many villains and not enough time to develop them, but No Way Home is much worse in that regard. They didn't include Venom and Hobgoblin, so why waste time with Lizard? Why did Sandman and Doc Ock take off with the other villains when their motivations aligned more with the heroes at that point? Probably just because there wasn't room in this movie for so many characters. It was very messy in my opinion,

    • @orinanime
      @orinanime 2 года назад

      @@Lucas43434 hobgoblin has never been in a Spider-Man movie.
      Sandman leaves because he's paranoid and fairly simple minded and doesn't trust this Spider-Man, is confused and doesn't want to die, which is what the other villains have been telling him will happen.
      Doc Ock doesn't leave with the villains. He flees the scene when the conflict starts. Has a realization and then comes back to help.

    It felt like an enjoyable Saturday morning cartoon. I really loved watching this movie, but I was well aware of how "childish" the plot all was. I can only imagine what Martin Scorcesse, whose already railed on the Marvel movies for being "well made amusement park movies" would think of No Way Home. He'd probably roll his eyes at the Saturday morning plot of "getting the thing, that turns the bad guys into good guys and then opening the portal that brings more good guys to help fight the bad guys so we can fix the thing that helps us make bad guys into good guys". Hahaha, it was a stupid plot, but I loved it.

      Comic books are not always serious to begin with. They have loads of campy moments. To bring these pages into live-action will never be a true Scorsese-level art. Sure, Mr. Scorsese can opine, and I understand where he comes from, but I would rather prefer campy comic book movies which are faithful to the source materials. You may say, Nolan did with Batman. That's because Batman is that type of hero. No superpowers, but has a sharp brain, and very much one of us.

    Now Way Home was awesome….FANtastic. A sequel that is as good as the prior film is uncommon, usually they make the prior film worse. One that improves prior movies is almost unheard of…but to make 7 films, over 20 years with 3 actors, better films? A first.

    I was lucky enough to avoid too much promotion around this movie, so its many reveals genuinely surprised me (and my theater audience was great too; there were Endgame-level cheers). Many movies these days are love letters to the past, but few have done anything quite like No Way Home. The villains are served well, I thought, and it even does a good job improving some characters. I agree that the story is thin (and the ending doesn't make much sense), but this is the type of movie where the nostalgia is amazingly done, and elevated the entire experience.

Spider-Man means so much to me, and is my favorite Marvel character by a mile(like Batman for DC), so this movie got everything spot on and brought out the little boy in me(at 34 years old now, it made me feel like when i first seen Spider-Man from 2002 aged 15). The ending was truly wonderful, and seeing all the characters together was a joy i didn't think i would ever see happen. I was one of the few that loved Spider-Man 3 out of all the Spidey movies, and still do. But No Way Home may just have dislodged it as the best live action Spidey to date, and one of the most superb comic book movies ever. This along with Ghostbusters Afterlife has brought the magic back into blockbuster cinema, compared to most woke crud lately.

    Tom's Peter was Danaerysd. The jump to murder was cringey. Only reference were the other Peter's talking about their regrets but Tom has no development in that. Just straight to murder. The destination made sense but the journey there non existant. The villains besides Sandman and Lizard were treated amazingly. They weren't one dimensional like most marvel villains and this one remembered that. Although the Goblin guilting Peter to kill him was also cringey because how could anyone fall for what he was told? A misuse of the goblin in my opinion. Or the introduction of all previous spiderman characters just so they can use them again and kill them off. Like seriously just because the Flashpoint paradox did that formula doesn’t mean you have to do it the same way. Come up with something new, creative but do not heavily rely on nostalgia please.

    I am a huge Spiderman fan ... but I do not give a crap about the MCU. Homecoming and Far from Home were terrible and even worse than the 70´s movies with Nicholas Hammond. The tone, athmosphere and the sci-fi elements are totaly out of place in the Spider-Man world. After reading the spoilers I was intrigued and decided to watch it. The movie got really good at the halfway point and it was a great experience watching it with a crowd at that point... but the first half was terrible like the previous two Spidermanmovies. So this movie is honestly a mixed bag.And honestly I am already having a "Force Awakening" effect: The nostalgia wears off and you realise that the movie has nothing else to offer.

      In terms on box office it won´t be a flop. In terms of "quality" however I have to agree with you. This movie is just like Force Awakens. A lot of people are going crazy for the crossover/nostalgia stuff right now just like they did with all the nostalgia in Force Awakens (Han Solo and chewiei n the Falcon e.g.) . Heck, I even enjoyed myself in the theatre ... but nostalgia wears off after time when you realize how bad the movie overall is.

      I grew up with the 90's spiderman cartoon, where Peter is smart and cool. When Lee created Spiderman, he didn't like how serious and void of humor superheroes were written, superman and batman never joked around or made fun of the villains. Lee's Spiderman was constantly wisecracking and joking around.
      So far haven't liked any of the Spiderman movies, they always make peter a humorless nerdy shy simp, that's always fighting with athlete abilities but never used genius mind.
