- A brand New Rotary Rake?!?
Our first ever ROTARY rake has arrived.
Our second piece of New #Hay Equipment from the Massey Ferguson Team and our local Lauf Equipment Dealer has shown up.
Shawn Meyer spent the day getting the Massey Ferguson RK 662 TRC Rotary Rake with us. This rake is PTO driven unlike our wheel rake; the ground speed does not change how the rake preforms (unless using excessive speed). This allows us to change their ground speed depending on field conditions without effecting the windrow formation.
Keaton is learning right from the get-go.
To learn more visit with your local Massey Ferguson Dealer, or reach out to Tom, Terrance or Zack from Lauf Equipment in Jefferson City, MO.

Snail Mail Chronicles of Kayla - Wieczorek Farms 30770 Hwy Y Perry,MO 63462

Awesome product thank you Massey for letting Kayla and family demo this for us hope to see one at my farm store soon
If he wants to work, let him work! No reason a kid cant work with their parents at a young age. The equipment is way more safe than it was 30 yrs ago. He'll be just fine!
Exactly!!!! And I feel a lot more confident sending him on his way in a cab tractor - so it’s all worked out with this year.
With the rotary rake don't be afraid to rake half a day sooner than you would with the V rake, especially with alfalfa, you'll save leaves raking while it's still a little green and it will still dry in the windrow.
Yes!! That’s what we’re finding out
Yes Massey thank you . I love watching hard family working and allowed to use state of the day equipment.
It is relaxing watching them work close. And accomplish there goals!!
Rotary rakes are gentle on the hay, you should really enjoy it!! I usually run at a much lower rake rpm but high gear so you can move fast but be easy on the hay.
Congrats on the new addition , I really like the looks of the new rake . Once Keaton masters it that's going to really increase y'all's production . Like I said before....you've got the Dream Team Rollin now. Be safe out there and God bless .
Can’t beat that sunset. Beautiful!!
Sunrises and sunsets. My fav time of the day!
Sure do like the new equipment, I bet you do too. Outstanding. Let farmers be farmers, which includes their children.
Kayla, great to see the Massie at work. The rake seems to be doing a great job. Hope you will get a break with some much needed rain.
We definitely need a rain day (or a week!!) but at this point I think we’d all even take just a few hours of rain.
G’job guys, great to see MF letting y’all test some equipment 👍🏻take care
Well here in north Texas we got your rain. May is one of the wettest months and by the end of the month the rain stops. Not this year. We have over 2" and over areas in the Dallas Fort Worth area more. Humidity is very high. My glasses fog up when go outside. The humidity is adding around 10 degrees to heat index. Thursday/Friday possible more thunderstorms and rain.
Got a funny for you all. My daughters has a 22 lb golden doodle that the three grandsons adore. My daughter has a raised bed vegetable garden. She drops the bugs etc. into old oil. Friday my wife was over there building cabinet draws. The dog (Millie) comes in front outdoors and throws up a bunch of bugs. Everybody is freaked out. My daughter calls the vet and send picture of the bugs. The vet says they are dead cucumber beetles. Millie ate the oil and dead bugs.
Fantastic video, love the windrow a rotary rake leaves, does seem to dry faster too.Thank you for sharing this Cayla
Sure wish I could talk you into sending a couple pictures of the sensors on the 1842. Trying to install the simple bale with no support

Hey there kitty I hope you’re doing good and I’m glad to see you’re back
Good video. Nice steady camera. No dizzying panning.
Thanks!!! Glad you enjoyed it. More to come as we get into 2nd cut grasses in the next several weeks
Another great video love watching y'all bring back memories of when I was younger we had cows around #200 Holstein in one field around #50 at our house it was always feeding them or doing fence work hope y'all have a wonderful day keep it up beautiful hay take care just decided too comment finely ❤❤❤
Nice work guys the rake dose a great job , looks like the farms going red hey Kayla, that tractor sound quite inside , so many things on and inside the cab , looks like a easy tractor to drive and operate, yep let kids work were they can ok God bless your farm and you all , we got plenty off rain here in Australia were we live at the moment, hopefully your get some coming your way Kayla cheers
She’s so quiet & SMOOTH!!!! We definitely could use some rain these days.
All kinds of neat things to play with, you’re so lucky. Lots of buttons and gizmos to learn about. The rake looks like it’s doing a good job, lot more moving parts than I’m used to.
Take care and enjoy!
Definitely so many buttons. But the more hours I spend in there. It’s getting less and less overwhelming and more and more of she’s so NICE -- I may never wanna get rid of her 🫣🫣
I help my neighbor and good friend with his grain farm and they have all that button and touch screen stuff. Way different than my older stuff, no screens the tractors still have levers. But it gets the haying done.
You guys will love the rotary rakes, they do such a wonderful job. We had a few showers in our area on the 18th, I hope you guys did as well. Another great video keep them coming!
You will love that rake
Congratulations and enjoy
like the way the new rake works my fav rake was ford 3 point 5 bar you could make a neat windrow but that new one fluffs it better hope you all get rain we are little dry here 60 mi n kc good luck GOD bless
Keep on keeping on…my wife and I both own business and our CPA says you we can pay our kids up to $12,000 a year in a college fund and right it off, so we do she has a photography business and I own a trucking business/farm
allways enjoy your videos
Excellent video and its good your son is learning the trade another pair of hands ✋ is useful
Thanks!! He’s always been right there with us. Just a little more hands on each year.
That new take sure looks like it brings up the hay. Hope it helps. Love all your videos and content.
👏👏👏🚜🏴
😁😁😁
Nice rake but that a lot of wheels to maintain. I also have a rotary and they are great for fluffing the hay vs. a finger rake which tends to wrap the hay which reduces drying after raking. The rotary's also take allot more maintenance and are expensive to operate, at least mine is which is a Fransgard TI-4000. I like the 3-point hitch model as you can just pick it up at the end of a windrow if needed. Good for smaller fields. The rotary also does not do well next to a ditch etc. like a finger rake which just glides over it. Pro's and con's to everything. Nice farm.
Rake goals!!! 😍
Hi Guys! The "Massey" Rake is a German Product.
Made by Fella in Feucht(Bavaria).
German High Quality😊
Wszystkiego dobrego. Pozdrawiam z Polski 🇵🇱.
I started baling hay way before I could get my drivers license at 15!
Being as we round bale everything for speed as to baling, transporting, stacking. under cover...... I know that rotary rakes are more than other conventional rakes...... When I say speed....... When I talk about speed...... Raking is at 12mph, trying to stay ahead of 2 Balers running at 8 to 10 miles and hour..... Getting the Hay into a package we can later convert to small squares as needed is what we strive for......Our sales are to Corporate or larger feed stores in our radius of operation..... So the fresher the bales in a bundles look the better they sell...... We allow the stores to use our trailers to sell out of.... Which speeds DROP and HOOK time on deliveries......
It definitely all depends on the Hay Market & Clients. Jason delivers a good chunk of ours still into stables and hay lofts… I think it’s why it’s so cool to see other operations work. We can all be farmers but in such a different way!! Even making hay.
In the Beginning, we were Row Cropping Cotton And Peanuts, Until we were offered a begining in the Hay Business by a land owner with large acreage of long established Hybrid Coastal Bermuda........That start was profitable enough to encourage us to convert to equip to Plant(sprig) harvest and sell only hay......
We are in a drought in Central Minnesota 3 tenths of rain since we planted corn on May 8 . First crop of hay was good . But fields are not green up
Ours are dying …. Turning brown. We’ve barley even been mowing the yard. Maybe once every few weeks 🫣🫣🫣 our silage corn is not looking promising
Great video. Just had a question and was wondering if you ever tried one of those bale bandits in stead of the accumulator 🎉
Hey!!! So over the years we’ve obviously looked at them but to be honest. We just can’t justify it. There’s no “real” need. Jason’s rule of thumb - why change something that’s been working for years (9 now)
@ChroniclesofKayla very valid point if it's not broken down fix it
I agree it's good to have the younger generation to get involved is agriculture.
Might explain the difference between a Tedder and rake
Congrats on the new Rake hope it works out well for you. Just out of curiosity do you have a Krone dealer in your area?
Kayla do you feel like the Baylor absorbs that fluffier hay better? It kind of looks like it from just being an observer?
YES!!!! That’s part of the whole Rotary Rake Position. Getting the windrows Fluffy & High. Instead of “balling - or Roping” the hay up - it just lifts it really nice. The baler can eat. .
I started my son driving tractors hauling hay at age 4. Now i never get to drive the tractors.
If someone wanted to buy some hay. Do you sellby the bale or by the ton
I have the same square baler that you all do just wondering does the new rake help make the Baylor work better also I don't know if you do round or not does it help on those also I've been looking at 1 but I haven't made the decision to get one yet thought I might get your opinion on whether it's worth it or not
We no longer do rounds - but I definitely see a difference in the baler being able to run a little faster & eat more with the RK662 now vs our wheel rake.
👍👌❤️🇨🇦,,
🫶🏼😄❤️
Why is it working with pto at 600 rpm, 2100 engine rpm
We was still trying to find the sweat spot with the baler on the new tractor - Jason really liked that 570ish mark - it also depends on the hay you’re in and the conditions of the ground - -
Did the hayday rotary rake experience convince you to get one of your own?
John Deere's suck! Masseys look good!
and no 1000 pto like in the beginning
Your a good wife
