Crazy to think that the crown Vic is now a part of a “retro fleet.” My agency still has like 25 of them left in use. I actually spent all last week patrolling in an unmarked Vic. Wish I could’ve kept it instead of getting my caprice back from the shop!
ShockAndAwe417 The Caprice is crazy fast I’m sure though. I do understand. I have a former police crown Vic that I do enjoy driving. I can see why you enjoyed the Crown Vic. Here in Naples Collier county still uses a lot of the P71’s.
Ezra Bridger Debatable. It definitely handles better and is quite a bit faster, but everywhere else it’s worse from my experience. Caprice isn’t as comfortable, the V6 ones we have breakdown all the time, and there isn’t as much trunk space.
My first FHP patrol car was the 92 Mustang. Second was a 1994 Caprice LT1. Third was a 1997 Crown Vic. Fourth was the 2002 Camaro. Fifth was the Mercury Marauder……loved them all.
my uncle was CHP until he retired in the early 2000's, so all the way from the 70's, 80's and 90's we would take a trip to his place every x-mas, he always had a pursuit vehicle and it was always the best part of the holiday when he braught whatever it was he was driving that year home for me to check out, big block Plymouths and dodges, mustang's and Camaro's plus the odd caprice/crown vic.. RIP Uncle Richard! (That's Officer Dic as he preferred! hehe )
Hey Nick, I am gonna try to keep this short. Simple civilian over here, no police ties, really appreciate your videos. I am not sure who they are focused at, but to me it's refreshing to see you presenting law enforcement in a simpler, we are all still humans light. I know our climates have changed and a lot of shows depict the bad in cops, but it's true, you all have a tough job, and we just need to remember that just follow the law and be respectful of law enforcement. And for the record, the Crown Vic is nice and all, but I am from the era where it was sick as hell to see those 5.0 troopers hauling ass to catch someone!!!!! Hell when I got pulled over in my younger years, during the ticket, I asked if I could walk around the car, the trooper laughed, waived the ticket and showed me the inside of his mustang, thank you officer!!!
A buddy of mine that has now retired from the FHP drove one of the Mustang LX 5.0 for years here in Santarosa County Florida and man was she fast for the time period, I absolutely loved it!! AH THE MAN TRANS!!
A co-worker of mine when I was in Orlando had a '92 Mustang 5.0 that he modded to just over 1000 HP. It got a lot of police attention even when it wasn't moving.
Real New Yorkers remember when the nysp had those Camaros as well. They would haul ass on the taconic state parkway and had real handling advantages over most cars with a seasoned veteran behind the wheel!
I was at Patrick AFB in FL from 1988-1989 and those 5.0 Mustangs rocked. FHP and Brevard CO had us train with them often. So much fun. Thanks for the Retro (aka OLD GUY) video. This retired gent enjoyed the ride.
NICK YOU ALWAYS CRACK ME UP AND YES I WATCH 100% of all your videos. I served 25yrs as a LEO and miss it so much. I have to watch videos and do a lot of other things to stay up to date.
The city I still serve in bought several of the retired FHP vehicles in the late 1980's to continue service. Those vehicles had been well maintained and served with our police department for several more years. We received 3 1986 Caprice's, 1 1988 Crown Vic, and 2 1986 Mustangs. One of the Mustangs was purchased by a local car collector, and restored to the original FHP Black and Tan, and still is on the road today.
Great segment, great series. Definitely got the production down tight. Come up to the Sunset Coast and do some agencies around Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater. Well done.
my personal favorite of the Trooper liveries...especially the Caprice 9C1 of the 90's and the Crown Vics with the dog dish hubcaps. Anyone remember the CHip 1979 Z28? or the late 90's Volvo?
👍Great work Nick; awesome content!👍 I still love the Federal Signal JetSonic/JetStream lightbars!❤️ They were very _”sleek”_ at the time & had super light output with all the internal mirrors. I worked on 100s of these back in the day when I had my own business as an emergency vehicle upfitter.
I GREW UP IN BRADENTON FL, never knew about that cool fact that the very first academy was there , also I remember those 5.0's and SS Camaro's they were bad ass and fast AF
At the end of the day, the Crown Vic is without a doubt, the winner. Filmed in Miami, bruh thats my HOME! Parents survived Andrew in 1992 and literally changed everything. I dig the videos and the great outlook you have with police! My car is a 2005 Crown Vic Police Interceptor, MORE IMPRESSIVE is that my car CAME from the Miami Police Department!
DEAR NICK YOU SHOULD DO A COP CARS EPISODE WITH THE MISSOURI HIGHWAY PATROL IT WOULD BE A BLESSING THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HARD WORK YOU PUT IN TO YOUR VIDEOS.
He says believe it or not at the Crown Vic. being the most requested car on his channel like in disbelief . The simple answer is It's a really beautiful looking car, slow and basic but very good looking especially in the rear end!
I know the state of Alaska is quite far from Florida hah but the Alaskan state Troopers are probably one of my favorites and I think that would be a cool video to do.
I lived in Florida for 45 years and I never seen a Camaro FHP Near Lake Mary I seen a FHP pickup. It had the perfect FHP color scheme and had front and rear ka band radar....and thru the years I seen FHP motorcycles in Orlando and Jacksonville
Biggest problem with the 5.0 Mustangs is that in a high speed collision, they had a tendency to split in half just behind the driver’s seat. Made for easy extrication of the victims but not for good outcomes. 30 years as a Paramedic, and yes, I saw it myself several times.
Great intro, Nick! Awesome video too. Love these cars. The Old FHP Car is my favorite. I have a old FHP Mustang patrol car on my channel during a car show. Kudos. Well done. Stay safe, Brother. Oh...I'm a big Nascar fan. Chase Elliot #9 is my driver!!!
Hey nick you should do a two videos in the great state of Va with the VSP a FCS Fauquier County Sheriff and then a Video in the Nation Capital Washington D.C.
I'd like to see an episode with LSP or Mississippi highway patrol but I don't think those cars are as entertaining as FHP or anything but overall very nice video
@Nick OFF Duty The LT1 V8 1994-1996 FHP Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 should’ve been in that group such a great squad car 10 times better then the Crown Victoria P71
Thank you both for the great videos, tough choice , The mustang was a cool looking police vehicle, the Camero was probably very fast, but the crown Vic was my favorite , but I wish I had the 39 ford
Nice I have a 1989 mustang 5.0 coupe with a 351w really really fast it’s on my channel as the 5 speed been another thing to worry about I think shifting just comes natural
1. Did you stay til the end of the video??😱 AND
2. Which would Police Car would you have preferred to patrol in??
Yes.
Camaro.
Nick OFF Duty camaro or vic

I mean...Kinda is..The body style has been around since 1998..Its pretty old.
@@canine_xs8516 earlier , the only made slight changes to the early 90's one.

Caprice is far better than the vic anyway.

GET BACK TO VLOGGING
R J I AGREE WITH YOU MANE
You should do Georgia state patrol, they have some awesome vehicles and I believe they also have a retro fleet 😎👍
Hell Yeah!!!
My first FHP patrol car was the 92 Mustang. Second was a 1994 Caprice LT1. Third was a 1997 Crown Vic. Fourth was the 2002 Camaro. Fifth was the Mercury Marauder……loved them all.
That Mustang 5.0 SSP was my favorite cop car when I grew up during the 90s. The CVPI will always be legendary and we can't forget that.
And we cant deny it.

p3th3t1c I think that CHP had the *best* pursuit vehicles! Awesome that you got to ride in some!
Cool uncle I bet
The Camaro is such a huge part of my childhood. There was an officer who lived in my neighborhood who had one. I absolutely love that thing so much!
Ford crown vic is still on duty i like that car
That ending (total end) killed me.
Great Video Nick, Lt. Camachoo thank you for your service , and soo sorry for Trooper Vickers.
Thanks Luis! and yes thats what kinda held this video up a little. We wanted to respect the loss of Trooper Vickers.
I wish they brought the Mercury Marauder 😍
Now THAT was a cruiser.

Same. No formal LEO ties, but I love seeing the police in a more informal way, and I love seeing all the gear.
Yes Finally! This is awesome, you should of showed us the light pattern on the Crown Victoria FHP.

Real New Yorkers remember when the nysp had those Camaros as well. They would haul ass on the taconic state parkway and had real handling advantages over most cars with a seasoned veteran behind the wheel!
Hope you’ll do a Texas agency soon.
Edit: preferably Texas DPS 👍
I absolutely adore the classic FHP Ford in the beginning. Love that flathead V8 Ford. Such an amazing car.
I remembered those Mustangs when I vacationed in Marathon in the early 1990s, beautiful cars. Loved the Jetsonic lightbars, also used by NCSHP.
I was at Patrick AFB in FL from 1988-1989 and those 5.0 Mustangs rocked. FHP and Brevard CO had us train with them often. So much fun. Thanks for the Retro (aka OLD GUY) video. This retired gent enjoyed the ride.
Dying to see Broward sheriffs office and Miami Dade police department!!!

I moved to Florida in 1994 so those 5.0s were very common then. Nice to see one again!

Absolutely awesome intro brother! "THE RETRO FLEET IS COMING!" I love it!
Man I remember seeing those FHP 5.0’s as a kid! 😍
And weirdly the crown vic will always be my favorite police vehicle

5.0 in this fleet, but my fav will always be the 1972 Dodge Polara, now thats a beast.
I love that huge blue Federal beacon that the FHP used to have.
Awesome! If you ever make it to Minnesota I'll show you my ultra rare 2016 Impala Classic sqaud.
My 2003 Vic is still a blast to drive. 129k runs like a champ.
Here comes Nick again with amazing high quality content. How do you not have at least 100k?
OMG! WELCOME TO CALIFORNIA NICK!!!!
Thx for another awesome video. Hats off to you Nick & Lt.Camacho. Greetz from the Garden State.
Side note: police package Camaro is actually a B4C.
Also, they need a gofundme for a headliner and sunvisors in that Mustang or something?
Back then we all rewind back to old school
DEAR NICK YOU SHOULD DO A COP CARS EPISODE WITH THE MISSOURI HIGHWAY PATROL IT WOULD BE A BLESSING THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HARD WORK YOU PUT IN TO YOUR VIDEOS.
Hey nick off duty you should do gsp Georgia state patrol I love their cars
Those Camaros were a lot to handle on the roads at speed. Quite a few of them ended up wrecked back in the day.
Bro, I've been waiting for this video for a minute now.....Bless you brother!
@Nick Off Duty. FHP NEED TO GET A FEW HELLCATS! THOSE ARE THE BEST.😍
He says believe it or not at the Crown Vic. being the most requested car on his channel like in disbelief . The simple answer is It's a really beautiful looking car, slow and basic but very good looking especially in the rear end!
Long live the Vic a true heavy duty workhorse
After a very long time, this is what i've been waiting for.
Absolutely amazing editing! Keep up the great work brother! And as I'm watching the ending, aww yea! Expansion time! ❤
I wish I was smart enough to be a fhp trooper.
Next FHP video has to have an FHP Mercury Marauder if they still have any.
NO WAY! Bro, fantastic job on the video. And CHP! WOW!
Keep up the great work! Subscribed 4 life!
I would still take the vic any day over all of them.
After the camaro
98-11 Crown Vic. Or Fox Body Mustang. Not in the video but i also.loved the late 80s box Caprices
in my country those rotating lights are still in use and they said they would start to replace those lights in 2071.
I know the state of Alaska is quite far from Florida hah but the Alaskan state Troopers are probably one of my favorites and I think that would be a cool video to do.

Can't beat a classic.
Freakin incredible. We need to stick a 353 inside the ford deluxe and bring it back into service. Riding in style.
WATCHEED TIL THE END OF THE VIDEO!!!!! YES!!!!! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR CHP!!!!!! #NodSquadRepresent!!!!!!! ⚫️🔵⚫️
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT HEARD HIM SAY CALIFORNIA 😭😭😭😭, omg soo excited!
Even though it didn't have air conditioning that 39 Ford is still pretty awesome
Nick you always put on a good show, my favorite is the crown vic classic. #nodsquad
Thanks Alex. The vic was def my favorite marked car to drive.
Been waiting for this video! It's worth the wait.
Beautiful cars!
Yes and its finally here!
@@NickOFFDuty I can't wait for the CHP fleet video, even though I live in L.A and see them all the time. 😆 CHP did had mustangs back in the day.
Nick your. So cool 😎 and I just what to say, your best keep it up😍
First, the Smart Siren is from Federal Signal. Second, the Mustang is definitely the best vehicle .
Great vlog nick! Keep them coming!!

Yeah interesting enough because the academy is now in Tally, i wonder which year it changed.

yep, FHP likes to make an entrance I guess? lol
Glad to see your beard’s coming in.
Love it! Keep up the good work Nick!
Thanks Ryan!
That Jetsonic was 1980s tech. The 90s were strobes including a strobe Jetsonic without the Siren.
I like how he fall to the ground during his intro.
That was EPIC!!!!
Finally! Finally! Finally! Feel like I've been waiting forever for this. Thank God it's finally here! 🤣😁😱
lol woohoo
@Nick OFF Duty The LT1 V8 1994-1996 FHP Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 should’ve been in that group such a great squad car 10 times better then the Crown Victoria P71

Hello from LCSO FHP has the best looking paint livery hands down
that Bebop and hand signal stuff just messed me up!!!!that shit was funny😂
How could the Mercury Maurader not be part of the retro fleet?!?!
You think of police, you think of the Vic. No questions asked.
My favourite one will Always be the '95 Chevy Caprice 9C1 with the LT1 engine, but out of these, I'd probably take the Vic
Damn you, i was about to go to sleep and this just popped into my sub feed.
