In this episode, now streaming on the Criterion Channel, we paid a visit to Nashville to meet the fine people behind this hub of Music City movie culture.
Always worth the 2 1/2 hour drive to see the one-of-a-kind movies they get! Love 'em! The first screening I attended was "My Neighbor Totoro" during a Miyazaki month. The entire theater was packed of kids and families watching such a pure and perfect film. I'm fond of my "Frances Ha" experience 'cause it was the first new release I saw there (that no theater in my neighboring state screened). My favorite one, however, was a midnight screening of my all-time favorite film: Scream (1996). Also, seeing Todd Solondz's Wiener-Dog in a small, packed screening room the weekend they reopened was quite an experience too ;)

I had my first and only (so far) experience with The Belcourt is 12 hours of terror in 2018 and I can't wait to go back.

Yeah, I'll have to make the trip on up there. Maybe I'll bike up the Natchez Trace to get there. It'll be worth the journey.
