Nothing but respect for KIX. They were without a doubt one of the hardest working and hardest rocking bands to ever grace the stage. They always delivered on all levels; if you left a KIX show without a smile on your face there was something seriously wrong. I have the greatest memories from having the pleasure of seeing these guys many times over the years, they will be missed and never replaced.
That’s no lie very underrated I’m 55 years old in February and I am honestly still praying for my dream but I’m going to rock out and give all the Glory to God because he would be the reason it comes to pass
First band I ever saw LIVE! Odessa, TX in the 80's opening up for Great White and headliner Tesla. Those were the days!!! Still sound just like they did back in the day. Thank you for this post.
Love these guys!!! I was born and raised in Maryland!!! Kix to me is definitely a hometown treasure. I'm 56 and had replace a couple of my cassette tapes to CD's. I don't know how many remember Hammer jacks or Wilmers park? Steve is definitely a great front man. I hope nothing but the best for the whole band. They will be missed!!! It's time to enjoy themselves!!! And as a lot of people comintend.... KIX was definitely an underrated band. But we still have memories!!! THANK YOU !!!
The title says last show in Minnesota. I think that's what they meant, their last show in Minnesota... not specifically their last show ever. That happened at Merriweather Post Pavillion.
heard Scarlett fever on the radio while on vacation in Cali. Mid 80's, i was like 14/15, mind blown. Never heard of em on the radio on the PNW. Came home and picked up both their cassettes and everything after.
Saw them a few times recently, just a great show. Sad to see them call it a career, but I've enjoyed the band over the past 40 years and consider myself lucky to have seen them live.
They have a ton of songs. In Maryland, where they are from, they were fairly big and got a lot of radio play on 98 rock. Unfortunately, they didn’t really break out mainstream and what they did achieve was through constant touring and hard work as one of the best kick ass live bar bands. Their longevity finally got them onto some rock cruises and rock festivals which helped popularize them beyond the East coast of the US. I have seen them at least a dozen times, at least 8 times at Baltimores legendary Hammerjacks bar and they are a great live band. Thanks for the music and memories to the dirty boys of the underground, Kix.
I wish I could have seen this concert. I am from Minnesota and live in Arizona. I have never seen Kix live, but their music will always play in my heart.
Yeah...there was a little person next to me & people were always talking to him, dancing with him & one guy, I guess, was even tickling him! What is wrong with people??
Dude still has the gift God blessed him with I am praying that my dream comes true and ya I’m 55 years old but it’s a passion I’ve always had since I was 4 years old and saw Elvis 🕺 I knew right then what I was supposed to do. But I think I will have my dream come true soon because I don’t party I just like to rock out I’ll leave the drinking and drugs to the dumb wokesters.
Melvin, again a big thanks! I really like Kix. Took the time to search for tickets but they went fast or the show was far away like in Minnesota. ;) Even looked for tickets for the last show in Maryland but that show is sold out! I've been fortunate to see Brian in Rhino Bucket but their shows are now few & far in between. Another great job filming!
Dont close your eyes was kinda sad to listen to tbh, blow my fuse rocked... great show kix, one of my first shows in the 80's in a small club and they were fantastic.. these guys will be missed
in October, Kix and Keith Urban are being inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame…Kix took Keith out on their tour before he even had a record deal….cant ya hear Keith playin n singin on Cold Blood in the jam?
It’s so weird I used to be able to sing like that but I haven’t sang or practiced in a few years and I have forgotten how to even get the pitch. But it’s honestly funny I’m able to sing and I sound like bon Scott? Its so weird I bet it’s all the smoking cigarettes? But I’m practicing a little bit I’ve ordered some equipment so I can get my sound board set up when I can afford some good loud PA speakers and a good heil mic and I’ll be practicing all the time!!! And enter some contest and see how I sound to the audience that is if I can get a band together!!! But I’m disabled and I don’t care if I limp on stage and off stage as long as I’ve made one person have a awesome time it’s going to worth it to me!!!
HUGE KIX fan here. Have seen them every year at M3, KIX-mas, etc. And I was there at Merriweather for the final show. KIX are one of the most underrated rock bands of all time. So glad I grew up in MD where 98Rock played them all the time. Interesting to see how different the set list was for this Hinckley show than the one this past Sunday night. And, no offense to Brian, but man...he butchered the beginning of Hot Wire in this clip. No matter, though. I've seen dozens of KIX shows and they never disappoint. So glad I was there to see the final show.
Without Donnie purnell and Ronnie 1010 younkins they have truly had their balls clipped!!!They should remaster and repackage Midnight Dynamite the way they did Blow my fuse!!!!!!
Best of luck in retirement one hell of a band who worked hard grinded it out and became a bigger draw than most bands who sold more albums back in the day. If he isn't down for retirement Brian Forsythe would be an awesome addition to any band from that era needing an axeman
They're old. I've been seeing them since 1983. Over the last few years they've had to tune down the songs in order for Steve to be able to hit the notes and even now he's beginning to struggle on some of the harder to sing ones. He wants to go out while he still sounds good instead of overstaying his welcome. Not to mention that Jimmy had a cardiac arrest, Steve has neuropathy, and Brian had a STROKE earlier this year.
Jimmy was going to call it a day regardless. Steve just doesn't want to do it anymore. And Brian's stroke had nothing to with his health or how he lives. The want to protect the band's legacy instead of being one of those bands that has 1 or 2 original members.@@stephenmystery8313
Age and health issues. They still kick butt live but due to aging Steve doesn’t think he can hit the high notes anymore, Jimmy and Brian have some health issues, non stop touring is hard, and they want to retire on their terms while still good before they are an embarrassment like quite a few bands that continued way past their prime.
They said Ronnie 10/10 Younkins was gonna play guitar on the last show. Really let down about this. He’s the original member not that short guy playing guitar that’s filling in for him.
I'm assuming the decision to play would be Ronnie's & the band would definitely want him to be there. Last show is in Maryland on 9/17. Hopefully, he'll show. I'd like to see him with the band one last time again too.
Their last show will be in Maryland later this month. This isn’t their last show! Ronnie will be with them then. And bob is a phenomenal guitar player and guy to talk to.
@@whippoorwillholler740 i thought this was the last show my fault. I watched an interview with Ronnie a few months back and he said he was going to the last show

one of my favorites band from the 80s! long live KIX!
THANKS for sharing !!! Long live KIX!!!
Thanks for posting this. First time I heard Cold Blood in '88 I was hooked. So many good songs from an underrated band.
No, not an "underrated" post on youtube. Don't be that guy. lol

Glad to see the drummer recovered from that scare on stage a few months ago, these guys have been on the road for several months now.
Not their last ever show, they closed out with a hometown show in Maryland.
Are they retiring? I love kix. First show I ever snuck to as a teen.
@@illegallyblonde232yes they played their final show on Monday night 9/17/23 in Columbia,Md 🤟🏻😎

Blows my fuse that these guys didn't get the recognition they most deserved. Damn. Their fans know though.
Wow they still sound good
Seen them on blow my fuse tour in KC
They where awesome
did not know they were still around... very under rated band. love them as a kid

Pretty damn good for how long they have been doing this. I heard their management company screwed them over back in the day. Great band.
Set ended right in time to go punch in at the Walmart 3rd shift distrabution center.🥳💩throw my poo!

Sad audio.
Last show was At Merriweather…..
And they really miss the edge of Ronnie and Donnie ……
Last Show? umm... What about last night (9/17/23) in Columbia MD?
The title says last show in Minnesota, which it's the last time they play Minnesota... not last show ever.
Wonder why they are packing it in ? Seems like they pull a big crowd anywhere they go.

Too bad Kix didn't play their early 80's songs.. When I saw them in 1981 , They packed power now they look like they are playing a wedding
40 years...40 YEARS changes alot of things.
You mean anything off Cool Kids and Kix? Guess they forgot those two. At least they did Midnite Dynamite material.
Only 1 hr ?
They were not the headliner.
Music sounded great, not so much on the vocals, but he isnt young anymore.
something DOKKEN should have done 18 years ago.
Yes, since Don can’t carry a tune anymore. Loved them, but it’s not Dokken without the original lineup and age and smoking ruined Don’s voice.
