HELPPP I WAS WORKING THE DAY WE HAD TO SWITCH BILLY BOB OUT FOUR TIMES (Hi, I was the employee standing with my head down on the stage because I was so done!) I was recruited very last-minute to paint the masks and after painting two for Billy Bob and neither of them fitting well, I was ready to throw the towel in. 😭 Luckily, we were able to borrow an original Billy Bob mask that looks better. I also fixed Dook after that unfortunate Crispy Dook incident. I was so frustrated I could have cried lol As for the refurbs, we're working closely with Aaron getting that up and running! We're hoping to get new official cosmetics AND fix air flow issues so they don't tear up as quickly. There's also going to be a lot of mechanical refurbishments in the coming months. We're running on what we have for now, but we have people here who care SO MUCH about the band and want it to work the best it can. I'll also defend BBWL with my dying breath. Getting new parts and things is not as easy as it seems, since at the end of the day, we're still a locally owned business in a poor state. There's only so much that can be done on a tight tech budget. I beg everyone to have some patience- trust me when I say, again, that we want it to run perfectly just as much as you all do! At this point, it's not a matter of neglect because we pay a LOT of care where we can, it's a waiting game until the new refurbishments can start.
Very cool to see you visit these places! I’ve had the blessing over being able to visit all three of these in person (with me living close enough to Pineville to go every once in a while), so it’s great to see you visit them too! Also, fun fact, but the Pizzacam currently at Pineville actually originally came from Fairfax, Virginia (which we know based off its serial tag). It was sent to Laurel at some point and replaced their original Pizzacam, and then got put into storage and installed at Pineville like you said.
That’s amazing because i live in Illinois and when i found out that there is a recent new anamatronic show with my favorite characters from an old franchise made me so excited. I have not visited there however but in my bucket list i do plan on seeing them. Just one day i will.
4:57 Billy bobs wonderland actually had an obscure "3rd" location in Spokane Washington. They had a rockafire until around 2016 but that show was sold to scadia golf and games for parts. The location is now called “wonderland family fun center” but they still have a few Billy bob items left such as the walk around costume. Pretty interesting that not a lot of people know about it. Edit: Added quotes around 3rd since I dont think the first 2 location owners had any part in this place. There is very little history on it
while its true wonderland had a rock afire explosion at one point and had a similar name, they weren't owned by the same owners of billy bobs wonderland lol, that's just straight up misinformation
@@cycl0ne Interesting. I am pretty certain It was called billy bobs wonderland for a time. It opened in 1993 according to all the sources I can find. Their old tickets also used to say billy bobs wonderland on them. Although its possible it just was a common name for these places even though the original owners of the well known BBW may not have been the original owners here. I remember them having plastic cups for coins that also said billy bobs wonderland on them. Not trying to spread missinfo
I came here to say this! I grew up in Spokane in the 90s and we would go to Wonderland for SO many birthday parties, soccer team parties, summer days, etc. Back then it was called "Wonderland Golf n' Games" but the Rock-afire Explosion show was alive and well at the time. I was enamored with these characters throughout my childhood and would run to the little podium with the buttons where you could select a song, though I was also slightly frightened at times when I would peek under the curtains and see them sitting still, especially as they started to fall into disrepair...
I got a chance to finally see the Rockafire at the Volo and I nearly cried. They were so wonderfully restored and moving so fluidly. I'm beyond happy to see them in a place where they will be taken care of and appreciated for years to come. The show tape they were running didn't have Rolfe originally, but they altered the show just a little so he made a silent guest appearance and hit his cymbal in time with the music. It was appreciated getting to see them all! I fell in love with the band 10 years ago and never thought I would be able to watch them perform in person, and so so perfectly too.
i have been out of the rockafire fandom for like 2 years so it's such a shame seeing billy bob's wonderland go back to being in bad condition after it was so recently restored... the masks look AWFUL, and mitzi's hair being in curlers during operating hours is wild. i heard about the volo museum having a show in storage but i'm so glad to see they're actually showing them to the public now, and they look really good
I remember seeing my local Chuck E. Cheese take down the animatronics there, super disappointing when it happened. Glad to see there are still some locations that have their animatronics.
Today, only 4 Chuck E Cheese locations still have their animatronic band. 1 in North Carolina 1 in Springfield, Illinois. 1 in LA, California And 1 in New York state.
i had such a wonderful time chatting with you man, it was truly a pleasure. if you ever come down to pineville again don't hesitate to let me know, we just got a brand new bunch of shows that debuted at our reopening that i would love for you to see!
Because of this video my wife and I took an impromptu trip to Illinois to see the Volo museum. It. Was. Incredible. I highly recommend visiting especially if you have an interest in animatronics or automated instruments. In addition to the Rock a Fire band they also have a working "the beagles" setup and a ROOM of drum organs and player pianos. Not trying to sound like an ad for the museum, but if not for this video I would have never known such an amazing collection existed near me.
Wife and I just visited Volo museum just for the rockafire explosion exhibit. Thankful to live a so close to the legacy location chuck e cheese in Springfield IL
Don't mind me, just copying your route for my bucket list. Shame my closest 3-Stage (Springfield) doesn't have the memorabilia Pineville has, but good to know! Road trip time!
That up close shot of Mitzi with her curlers still in is so silly to me. Looks like she just wanted a girls night but she had to come to work and they weren’t done yet.
i nearly SCREAMED watching the volo museum appear on my screen. i used to live less than an hour away, in wauconda, so its awesome seeing it make an appearance here. very glad they're keeping the legacy of rock-a-fire alive !!
I remember asking if you’d ever show your animatronics on a twitch live a few years ago. Really cool to see that they’ve become a staple of this channel!

There’s a Chuck E. Cheese pizzeria some where in my town that still has active animatronics except chuckie is missing an eye and has his head cracked open
i remember being a kid and my parents throwing me a birthday party at chuck e cheese and hiding under the table because the show started and the animatronics scared me to death. i'd give anything to see them now that i have a kid, she loves stuff like this! thank you for your videos!
Thank you for going around to these states to come and show them for us and telling us the history CEC (imo) is being super careless with their marketing choices when it comes to the animatronics I’m at least glad we have those few locations left and happy to still a Billy bobs wonderland still in operation
I grew up around Sacramento. I had no idea until a few years ago how lucky I was to grow up around so many chuck e Cheese. With 2 stages and working animatronics till the very end. San Jose, Roseville, citus heights, Arden, and elk grove. And soon the water park cal expo
Oh my word, Billy Bob scared the living daylights out of me back in the 80s when I was three years old and I never went back until Showbiz became Chuck E. Cheese and no longer had animatronics 😂
Thanks for persevering the history, I still take my child to the samw Chuck E Cheese that I went to and I try to explain to her how cool the animatronics were. The place got a recent remodel and the last Animatronic of just Chuck E and the swan ride were removed.

Growing up, Mom never let us have a party and invite friends but she did take us there. It was always a disaster where we'd leave crying because we hadn't spent all our tokens, she had no interest in video games and was probably getting a headache, had seen the show at least twice already with the last of the pizza.
