Wow, you are living the dream, so cool seeing young people hustle, but at the same time recognise where the line is and not burn out. All the best for you!
Gratulation zum Exit! Gönn dir deine wohlverdiente Pause, bin gespannt was als nächstes kommt. Kannst du dir vorstellen, irgendwann in Deutschland zu gründen oder wird es für dich immer USA sein? Btw, stabiler Bizeps 😄 Grüße aus Frankfurt!
I don't understand how you were able to raise that much money when giants like Thomson Reuters and Lexis Nexis have HUGE products in this domain, so much so that these products are literally mandatory in Law school in some courses. I remember seeing a survey from Stanford that 90% of their students use either Westlaw or Lexis. What an achievement honestly it is like getting funded for a taxi cab service. Bravo!
For sure, but these two tech giants are not known to be innovative, nor do they have access to the best engineers so they struggle to keep pace. Thank you 😊
Gratuliere zu deinem Exit! I wish you a great relaxing time and lots of inspiration for your future endeavors! I am currently (not financially) in a similar situation... Enjoying life before delving into the next exciting chapter of my professional/entrepreneurial path. Cheers!
I am quite surprised, to be honest, and good luck to you. I mean it is a very uncommon decision, but I do believe being open to new adventures is that exciting as well. I am currently working on an idea as well, and your videos are constant reminder to keep going, so thanks. By the way, it is so funny how yu pull out that potato. was not expecting it😂😂
sounds like an exciting new journey! the sky's the limit❤😊 excited to see vlogs of your travels. Suggestion: you should surely visit Australia and the Caribbean
Thank you for the suggestions. I actually just booked a trip to Bali, so not too far from Australia :) And if time permits, might also make a stopover in the Caribbeans
Congrats on the exit! Are you ever planning to share any more details about the exit (maybe in some future videos)? I'm unfamiliar with how these things work with VC funded startups. Like, do you get a lump sum and they buy out the company ownership from you? Is valuation determined from the total funding received? Is your advisory role a paid role? It'd be really cool to hear about these things from someone with firsthand experience. :)
Thank you. These are all very good and valid questions that I wish I could answer in more detail. But yes, in general, that's roughly how it works. There is definitely some connections between total funding and valuation. Otherwise, if you took a, let's say, $10M investment at a $10M valuation, you would end up without equity in the company. The goal generally is not to sell away more than 15-25% of your company during each funding round, so your valuation should be at least several times higher than the amount of funding you received. Too much to explain in a single youtube comment :) And yes, I still get paid by the company
RUclips algorithm showed me this video. You have a great demeanor and kind presence! I have real estate startup where we are really innovating in the homeownership space. It doesn't require tech now but I have a tech vision in mind for it. Raised about $700k in the last 15 months since starting and still own 100% of the operating company. Would love to connect and see your thoughts. It may interest you maybe not. I'll shoot you a message on linkedin!
Mr. Bosch, can I please see the case study about Volkswagen, Rolls Royce, and BMW? I am in Canada, and I'm in my second year of law school. Started doing a corporate law class in September and I feel like knowing how this occurred could help me become a better practitioner in the future.
Hmm I don’t have the case study anymore, but there should be lots of records online about this, including news articles (such as the one shown briefly in the video)
I think this is what happened, but legally probably he cannot say. This is what happens in this world the business people takeover the visionary and innovative people eg. Steve Jobs and now Samuel. But all that aside its a plus point for Samuel because now he can take time off and find out what he wants to do.
@@SamuelBoschMIT Oh sorry about that Idk I made assumption because of the blurred section part my bad also samuel love the videos big fan from Canada 🇨🇦
Honestly, Emily strikes me as a really fake person. I know she acts all nice, but she seems to be really full of herself. Also, I checked her instagram and she edits her photos to the point where it looks nothing like her. Just compare what her face looks like in unedited old vlog videos vs her Instagram. These are two different people. Obviously, it's her good right to do that. Just shows that she is really fake
This is going to be a 🔥 Part 2 to hear the actual reasons you left a company that you alone turned into being millions worth! If your deal allows it😅 Next thing will sure be as exciting! Enjoy your time off, you never know how much of that you have left.
First video saw on that channel : Subscribing. Didn't have such a cool background ( in term of education ) just did Supinfo which just a paid IT school that do not go deep into the fundamentals just making you a user of US tech to implement in french companies basically... Let's see what that Bosch guy do next. I will try to create a startup too. Way harder lol but hey. let's see.
In general, if you're doing a PhD in a STEM field, I think it might be easier to first use your OPT and STEM OPT for a startup. But you should consult an immigration lawyer, as I am not one
but how do you avoid upsetting other stake holders, including the investors, given that they committed the financing in part due to the team, not just the concept?
That's a long story for another time. I have a very good relationship with most of my investors and they've been incredibly supportive of me in this transition.
Genieß die nächsten paar Monate bevor du etwas neues suchst Samuel, du hast so viel gearbeitet und musst auch mal bisschen deine jungen Jahre genießen ;D
Dude, dropping out if the PhD was a dangerous thing. It gave you a corporate safety net in research that pays well. Startup failed and now you are probably going to be a full time youtuber
!I recently sold some of my long-term position and currently sitting on about 250k, do you think Nvidia is a good buy right now or I have I missed out on a crucial buy period, any good stock recommendation on great performing stocks or Crypto will be appreciated
I managed to grow a nest egg of around 120k to over a Million. I'm especially grateful to Adviser Ruth Ann Tsakonas, for her expertise and exposure to different areas of the market.
Without a doubt! Ruth Ann Tsakonas is a trader who goes above and beyond. she has an exceptional skill for analyzing market movements and spotting profitable opportunities. Her strategies are meticulously crafted based on thorough research and years of practical experience.
I'm new to trading, and I've lost a good sum trying out strategies I found in online tutorials. I would sincerely appreciate any recommendations you have.
i think you should take a break, go for camping, hiking, or whatever you like to do. just take a break and chill bro
Trust me, I will 😊 You’re about to see many nice photos from my sailing trip in Croatia, followed by San Francisco, New York, etc hehehe

Tolles Video❤ Denkst du es lohnt sich auch in Deutschland so ein AI-Startup zu gründen oder lieber im Ausland(Schweiz/Usa) wegen besserer Bedingungen?
Do you want it to be successful? USA is the only answer.
Wenn du die Wahl hast, würde ich nach Amerika gehen. Aber sonst ist Deutschland auch total ok und du kannst dort auch super startups bauen

why is dropping out of a PhD a dangerous thing? if he becomes a full time youtuber he will be richer than any PhD struggling in academia right now
