now i can go round looking at ingredient lists of products i’m never gonna buy but feeling smart asf doing so 😎
Just taking notes for my oily skin
1. Look at the first 5 ingredients--good for oily:
-Salicylic acid
-Niacinamade
-Glycerin
-Willow Bark extract
-Jojoba oil
-Green tea
2. Online resources
3. Be careful w/ the sensitive of ur skin
Willow bark is basically just less effective salicylic acid, it's only suitable if you have sensitive skin. Furthermore my ranking would be 1) Salicylic Acid, 2) Benzoyl Peroxide, 3) Azelaic Acid, 4) Retinoids like Adapalene, 5) Lactic Acid.

My mental health completely plummeted during the pandemic, and with that I started losing motivation to take care of my skin. Obviously, that caused me to breakout really badly, and due to my skin picking caused by OCD, I picked at everything and caused a hell ton of hyperpigmentation all over my cheeks. I started watching Hyram's videos again not long ago, and decided to start trying to take better care of myself again. I bought a Niacinimide serum, and started cleansing twice a day again. I've already seen so much improvement, it's insane. My confidence is finally coming back, and while it's not perfect, my mental health is starting to improve too. I honestly can't thank Hyram enough.

Its better to know yourself
There are some apps but they end up fear mongering.
Just search the product with the ingredients at the end, google will help you from everything more easier and faster.

Love that you did a video on this!! Kudos! I'm surprised I haven't come across a video like this before. I always use inci decoder! I wouldn't buy a product without first putting it through inci decoder to have a better idea on if the product would actually work for me.

Hey Hyram! Could you do a video about truly beauty?
I think this video is a good intro to the basics. Just remember not to take it too literally, understanding formulation takes a lot of knowledge.
With #1, that’s a bit over simplistic imo as it greatly depends on the recommended usage rate. Ceramides are used in small concentrations yet still very effective. Same goes for humectants.
It’s also important to understand it’s not just about looking up what ingredients claim to do - those are just marketing claims. I see a lot of influencers reading down the list of ingredients and repeating the benefits they found on Google but you want to actually establish what ingredients have evidence and at what concentration.
It’s also about how the ingredients work together to achieve the goals of the formula.

In this video it’s mentioned jojoba oil is good for oily skin (which I have). I have 100% jojoba oil that I use for my nails and body. Can I also use it on my face? (it says so on the bottle but I’m kinda scared 😅) please help 🥲 I’ve only used jojoba oil that’s been mixed up in some other skincare like a moisturizer or something, never just in pure oil

Actually, for anyone who got into oil cleansing through carrier oils, Hemp Seed Oil was always known to be better for oily skin.
So it doesn't surprise me that Bubble's moisturizer is light and absorbent.

Not necessarily! A higher % of an active/ingredient doesn’t not equate to a better product. For example, niacinamide has a sweet spot of 5% concentration and percentages higher than 10-20% can be irritating to skin.

Well, what else could he have said? It's not like you can know what an ingredient does just by looking at it's name, obviously you have to look it up if you don't already know. There are thousands of ingredients, he can't just sit there and google in our stead.

Willow bark IS NOT salicylic acid, it's salicyn. In order to convert it to salicylic acid you need to digest it
