    Eric, your dad and Jim should write a book about the Aerostar

      It has already been written. Stars And Commanders. Written by long time Aerostar owner Dave Duntz. You can purchase the book at www.starsandcommanders.com

    I worked for a Piper dealer back in the 70's and fell in love with the Aerostar. Speed, range, useful load, no critical engine, etc. is fantastic as long as you aren't 6'6" like me. It was and still is my ATF airplane.

      The only factory produced Aerostar that does not have a critical engine is the Piper 700P with the counter rotating props. There were only 25 made. Aerostar Aircraft/Machen has STC'd a few of their Super 700's with the TIO-540-U2A and LTIO 540.

      @@AerostarPilot Ahh, thanks for the clarification. I fondly remember seeing the 700P on the ramp, it looked like it was doing 200+ kts standing still. It must have been a C/R as I remember the Piper demo pilot remarking about no critical engine. I love your videos, I watch every one. Thanks.

    Was just in this plane a couple weeks ago. I think the interior is pretty amazing since it’s original

      There is still a lot of work to be done. The annual hasn't really been started yet. Just a list of things the the first look has uncovered.

    Great video whole lotta ones! Do I see Kelly Aerospace warm wing leading edges? Or is that just the under boot surface untreated? I always wanted to see that as an STC on this and a few other A/C. Hope that wasn't corrosion I saw on the engine mount. Been over a decade since I've seen Jim.

    I was wondering about Aerostar Aircraft's Jet-powered prototype. I know they abandoned
    the project, but did they convert the jet back to stock configuration?

    • @AerostarPilot
      @AerostarPilot  Год назад

      The jet is alive and well. Aerostar missed the window for the VLJ market and were unable to raise the millions required for a certificated aircraft.
