Don't ever leave without packing Poo-pourri. We all know how cruise food will send you flying to the bathroom and staterooms are small. This way you'll NEVER EVER have a stinky room again as it leaves absolutely zero trace of stinky time ever being made 😁👍
Plug it ins!!! From any company!!! Absolute must have, whether single or double occupancy. One for the bathroom and one for the living area. I have not needed the luggage tags yet but I am going to try them out next month. Can't hurt. Thanks!!
Tracy Sanchez me too!!! I do the same at hotels! Small can of Lysol spray the shower as well. I was in the Army so I really shower with flip flops if it’s not mine anyway.
Chlorox wipes do not contain bleach. Bleach and hydrogen peroxide are the only things that will kill norovirus. The alcohol in hand sanitizer won’t kill it either.
We always bring a small stack (say 20) dryer sheets in a zip lock bag. We peel off two or three to throw in with the accumulating dirty clothes each day.
I have a quart sized ziplock with our walking pharmacy that I pack for all trips in excess of 2 days. Imodium, anti-nausea, sea-sickness, pepto, antacids, pain killer, and 2 kinds of allergy meds. Also don't pass up the opportunity to stock up on OTC pharmaceuticals in Mexico!!
Pauline Potts I bring everything we may need. I didn’t have ambasol and we were in a Mexican pharmacy trying to explain what we needed. Luckily between me and my sons spanish they got it.
I have. 2 week Caribbean Cruise coming up very soon (19th cruise)and I have been gathering up all of my essentials.I take everything you mentioned above plus I never forget my 45 SPF lip balm, and 50 SPF face balm ,Dramamine for the snorkeling excursions( those Cats go fast),a small pop up mesh hamper for dirty clothes, a first aid kit with various items including bandages, itch cream for bug bites on the beaches, Benadryl , Tylenol, cold meds, tums, Imodium etc.(Just little bits of each for emergencies).Bug spray is a must for excursions.I always have a back up pair of flip flops and sunglasses.I have broken my flip flops and lost a pair of sunglasses at the pool deck( no one took them to the lost and found).4 or 5 Clothes pins for hanging wet clothes in the shower.Clorox wipes and a couple of disposable gloves to disinfect the room on day one.( remote, door handles etc)
I always take wet wipes, especially to ports. I have found so many port bathrooms have no paper. Also I bring a small odor neutralizer for the bathroom and a mini lysol can to spray my counter and phone etc in the room, they are not usually that clean and I want to make sure I don't get sick.
Thank you for your tips!! The wrinkle spray is extremely important, as we found out. The reusable water bottle - I wish we had known that before. And the excursion backpack - another thing we’re going to do next time. One tip - you can tell your iPhone to not change time zones in case you forget to bring a clock.
Thank you guys!! You guys are so cute together and I don’t mean to be mushy just that you work really well off each other and present something that’s “boring” in a fun way.
Some things I always pack: highlighter, post it notes and magnets to hang add'l items on the walls. Also I put a magnet on the door so it's easily identifiable.
I learned nothing from this video and still enjoyed every minute of it. Part of the fun of a cruise is the preparation and planning that goes into it. These kinds of videos just reminds me of that. For my wife and I, the printing of the luggage tags is a big deal because it means we are close to cruising.
I have watched this about 4 or 5 times now and it still stands as one of my favorite packing essentials list. At this point, I have all the items you mentioned and I agree with them all.
I always take a picture of our passports with my cell phone and send it to my email, and to my son's email. Just in case of emergencies. You never know....
Before my last cruise, I found a guy on eBay who made paracord lanyards. I had him make me a special one in Carnival red, white, and blue. The card clips on and off, so I can pay for my drinks, and I had him make a special attachment so I can clip my card to a belt loop if I don't want to wear it around my neck.
Can you tell me which guy on ebay you got your lanyard from. There are a boat load of lanyard makers on ebay and I'd like to give your guy the business. Us cruisers have to stick together, right?!?
We use retractable ID lanyard with smaller key ring to attach S&S card, I can clip it to my pants, no one will know that I have my card on me. For example, if bartender needs it, I just hand him/her my card without detaching away from me.
I have seen soooooo many of these videos and this was the most helpful by far!!! My cruise isn’t for 200 days but I always like to plan ahead and I’m an over packer so this was very helpful! I also love how this was entertaining as some can be verryyyy boring! Thanks for the awesome vid!!! I’m just realizing that I’m not going til August in almost 200 days but these kinds of cruise vids are all I have been watching recently lol! 🤦🏽♀️
Marisol Canales, my husband and I are going on one in December and just like you, these videos are awesome, entertaining, and informative. Thank you Griff and Alyssa
Oh either get paper towels and put dish washing soap on it and then put it in a ziplock bag so you can use it later to wash your reusable water cup or just bring a sponge with dish soap
Awesome video! Helped make our cruise a success. Didn’t need the alarm clock as the phone in our room had accurate ship time and wake up calls. Also set my watch to ship time. The backpack was amazing for the excursions!!!
Wrinkle remover is key to cruise travel! Good tip! We actually buy a large bottle and then refill our travel size bottle, which is cheaper than re-buying a travel size each time... and Towel clips are a must!!! I love the Boca Clips from Bed Bath and Beyond. And love your travel bottle tip!!! We usually take a stainless steel tumbler with us and it is so true about the size of the small glasses in the buffet. Great video and very well thought out tips!!
I just wanted you guys to know that I bought a lot of the items that you recommended from your drop down and they were so helpful on my very first cruise that we just came back from. Thanks for the advice and the easy ordering that you helped me with on Amazon
thank you so much for this video my significant other and I are going on our very first cruise on April 7th and I had no idea that I needed half of these items thank you thank you thank you!
Tip, buy some very cheap vodka and then your favorite essential oil (I like lavender). You can put it in a small or larger (for home use) spray bottle. It sanitizes everything, this can be used as air freshener, clean with it, on your hand, and spray it on your fabric surfaces to sanitize it, like beds, couches, pillows, and even you clothing this becomes my all in one spray, non-toxic and since it is alcohol is just evaporates. I also use in on stinky dog beds, shoes and gym bags. I carry a small spray bottle in my purse everywhere I go. I call it air freshener or hand cleaner when asked. Great for traveling.
Oh that is interesting... We will have to try this for sure. Have you taken it on a cruise before? Just wondering if the vodka would set something off?
Just came across your video. Ordered the passport holder. I really like that one you showed. Also ordered towel clips and luggage tag holders. Great tips! 👍
I learned the hard way about power strips. I brought one on my first cruise to find I couldn’t use it, so I didn’t. Nothing in my cruise prep or info from the cruise line warned me. I did find out later that you can use a power strip if it does NOT have a surge protector. I don’t know the technical reason why (yet). I’m sure it’s for safety. You can find power strips without surge protectors especially for use on cruise ships.
Packing cubes, collapsible laundry basket, highliter, magnetic hooks for lanyards, hats, bags etc.. suction cup hooks for mirrors to hold jewelry and bath scrunchie, pump hand soap for bathroom, LED tea lights for bathroom and cabin lighting at night, binoculars if you have a balcony cabin
Great video. Just added the Downey Wrinkle Release to my shopping list for my March cruise. I already have most of your items, but it was very informative. I did buy my lanyard, sea bands and plastic cruise tag holders from Amazon, but also bought Zoono after it was recommended to me. It is a 24 hour hand sanitizer foam that is effective against Norovirus.
I’m from the UK and I don’t think we have that wrinkle release spray here. We are in Orlando before our cruise this summer, where can I buy it? Thanks xx
You can find the travel size Wrinkle Release in Walmart and Target where they have all their travel size items. As for Zoono, I did use it faithfully on my March 2 cruise on the Breeze, and did not get sick. Was it the Zoono, or just luck? Who knows, but I was happy! I just added a week to my April 2020 cruise to make it a true B2B! That will be the REAL test--14 days at sea around so many people!
Laundry soap in individual packets, shampoo packets, safety pins, sewing kit, tech bag for various cords etc, crystal light packs, first aid kit, double sided fashion tape, magnetic hooks.
We also plan on bringing straws, lysol wipes, mini trash bags, and solo cups for cabin use. And after our last cruise incident, a first aid kit with wraps.
A small first aid kit to put into my bag for shore days. I put one together that has a little bit of everything and it fits into a zip-up sunglasses case. You never know when you might need a bandaid, eye drops or Tylenol!
First video I have seen of yours! You guys are awesome and such a good couple!!😊 Great video..even better facial expressions! love you guys so subscribing now!!!
A few things I never forget are air freshener, small flashlight (for those night trips to the bathroom), magnetic hooks, highlighter, wine opener, and of course wine. Btw, thanks for the hint about the alarm clock. I've been looking for one and I like how compact yours is. Really like your videos, lots of good info!
Let me tell you what you need since I’m a person who works for different cruise lines at Port of Miami/Port of Everglades: We don’t care what YOUR TRAVEL AGENT say PLEASE WE BEG YOU to bring YOUR PASSPORT and VALID DOCUMENTATION! If you have to bring passport, birth certificate, whatever it’s better you are over prepared then not prepared at all!! I will honestly stress this 😭😭
Another gadget is a battery operated motion light. You can get these at walmart or home depot. They use 2 or 3 AAA batteries and have adhesive substance on the back to stick to walls. Great for the late night bathroom run..
Always, always cruise with anti diarrhea medication. You never know, and it’s not available at the cruise store. They want you to visit the doctor, who will determine if you have an infection ( norvovirus) and be put in quarantine. I hope I never have to use it!
BCS you can also pack Peppermint which is an anti spasmodic It helps with muscle spasm and diarrhea Probiotics will also help to quickly rebuild your natural flora and fauna
You guys are so much fun. Can’t wait for the packing vids. Don’t forget a few bandaids and antiseptic ointment or cream. And after sun or sunburn relief - doesn’t take much burn to make you miserable
On the rare occasion I need an alarm clock on the ship I use my phone. Just make sure to set you phone not to automatically update the time zone. Then it stays on ship time and you’re good.
Love watching videos before a cruise! I do know that Royal is basically not allowing any power strips anymore as of a few months now but haven't been on Carnival since last October so don't know about them or the other guys. I have started going to Dollar Tree and getting the little tea lights and putting a couple in the bathroom for those last night potty breaks. Enjoyed the video!
Loved your video. I have a thin cloth money belt that can even be worn under clothing (Amazon) that holds cash & credit cards when I go on shore excursions. Much safer than carrying a wallet in a backpack.
I just got back from the Mariner of the Seas where, after following advice from these numerous bloggers, I brought a power strip identical to the one shown in this video. After not getting my luggage delivered to my cabin at all, my steward informed me I had an illegal item in my baggage and I had to go to security to open my bag and retrieve it. IT WAS THE POWER STRIP. They confiscated it, I had to sign forms, was treated like a common criminal by security staff, and had to drag my cordless luggage on my own back to my cabin. After debarkation I had to make an additional delaying Pitt stop at the “confiscated items” desk curbside to retrieve my stupid cord. There was my power strip, buried among dozens of other strips brought by many other gullible guests. Never again. DONT DO IT.
Yep!!! Happened to us too! So what happened was a few months after we made this video. There was a fire on a cruise ship and they banned all power strips. So now that this video is nearly a year old the rules have changed a bit.
@@SuperSonicDude164 in my opinion, I don't think they should take it down for 1 item that has been changed. They had other great items listed that maybe someone wouldn't think about. They have made note that the power strips are now a banned item. :)
This..is the power strip to bring with you in your CARRY ON: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D25RSWX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's small, oddly shaped so it doesn't actually look like a power strip, has three regular grounded plugs AND three USB charging ports. I did notice that devices charged slower on the USB ports than if they were plugged into a grounded plug with an adapter but it still works great considering how small it is. The security personnel at Port Everglades pushed my carry on bag right through the scanner with no delay.
What are some things you don't cruise without??
Griff & Alyssa sunglasses and a light jacket the comedy lounge and the main theater are always freezing
Rachel Delaney living in Florida, sunglasses are just attached to my person at all times.. 😂 and yes, great point! The theaters are always so cold!
I bring my own Brave Era 100% Silk Travel Sheet to keep me at ease on the sheets I sleep on...

@@GriffandAlyssa - When you're in a cabin with 3 kids on a 10-night cruise, it's a must (to keep down the musk).
Good idea!
Love that you guys are straight to the point. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos. Thanks for sharing.
A small collapsible container to store snacks (cheese, fruit, etc.) in your cabin fridge.
I always bring what I call a walking pharmacy. It’s basically a first aid kit with a kick.
Sounds perfect! Can't be too prepared!

I will NOT forget to bring extra pony tail holders.... they always go missing! Face and lip masks, my skin ALWAYS freaks out when I travel!

Not smart given how much hacking occurs nowadays. Better to leave a photocopy in your luggage in your room.
I would maybe place it on a USB drive.
I make photo copies of my passport and drivers licence. I keep one copy in my wallet. And a copy in each piece of luggage.

Same, but I start on August 7th.
I always bring magnets . Great to use for hanging items ( hats, belts, bags) or use to leeave notes . Lots of uses 😎
I absolutely enjoyed your video. Wonderful and useful suggestions. Thank you.
We take magnet hooks which you can place on the cabin walls for towels, belts, bags, whatever you want out of the way!
I like to bring a small first aid kit.. with a few essentials such as band aids, Neosporin, stomach medicine, ibuprofen
Awesome video, been doing research on cruises for the last month now for a future trip.
We use room service in the morning for our alarm clock.
Thanks for all the information in Tips. I jumped right on your links and purchased some of the things from Amazon that you recommended
A lot of great tips here. Thanks for this video!
You are most welcome! Glad you found it helpful!
I have everyone of these items. We have the same passport wallet and backpack and luggage tags 😂
Hahaha perfect!! I love all of them!
Anti diarrhea. Do you mean Imodium ??
PeterAnthony peppermint tea can substitute for Imodium It’s herbal in nature and can be used anytime. It’s 1-2 teabags / cup/pot of tea
You guys are so much fun. Can’t wait for the packing vids. Don’t forget a few bandaids and antiseptic ointment or cream. And after sun or sunburn relief - doesn’t take much burn to make you miserable
😍 Thanks Millie! I am SO glad you said sunburn relief, because I literally almost forgot about it! -Alyssa
Always bring almost everything in travel sizes, so when it's empty just dispose it, your luggage will be lighter.
On the rare occasion I need an alarm clock on the ship I use my phone. Just make sure to set you phone not to automatically update the time zone. Then it stays on ship time and you’re good.
Good tips. I did not think about a packable backpack for getting off the boat.
It is really handy!!
Denise Phillips
They took our power strips in august but i kept the extension cord
You aren't talking about candles are you?
Cyrena H battery operated ones
So helpful! Need that backpack in my life 🥰
otc meds. and sea sickness wrist bands
Loved your video. I have a thin cloth money belt that can even be worn under clothing (Amazon) that holds cash & credit cards when I go on shore excursions. Much safer than carrying a wallet in a backpack.
Oh that is interesting! I never thought about something like that!
packable windbreaker, light, easy to put in that nifty bag of yours, you never know when its going to rain, get chilly or windy, ......windbreaker lol
haha, we see what you did there! ;) Good suggestion!
I'm glad I read the comments before purchasing one
Exactly!!! Had to visit suitcase jail on the Oasis of the Seas for the same reason!!!
@@SuperSonicDude164 in my opinion, I don't think they should take it down for 1 item that has been changed. They had other great items listed that maybe someone wouldn't think about. They have made note that the power strips are now a banned item. :)
This..is the power strip to bring with you in your CARRY ON:
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D25RSWX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's small, oddly shaped so it doesn't actually look like a power strip, has three regular grounded plugs AND three USB charging ports. I did notice that devices charged slower on the USB ports than if they were plugged into a grounded plug with an adapter but it still works great considering how small it is. The security personnel at Port Everglades pushed my carry on bag right through the scanner with no delay.
Basic first aid Couple bandaids, triple antibiotic creme, eyeglass repair kit, etc
I LOVE you guys! THANK YOU! I bought a few items from your link
Thank YOU Lily! We hope the items are super helpful!
Best tip video so far!! Thanks good stuff
Great video. I always take Poo-pouri spray when travelling
Great tip!
