I have just discovered your videos and have started watching. I am almost 4 years post stoke. Thank you for the endless knowledge you have and share. I have never been a quitter. You have given me new hope.
Thank You so much for these exercises, so I can continue my recovery even though it has been 20 years since my stroke at 25. I am unable to see if these exercises are helping me as I just started them yesterday and I have finally been sent to occupational therapy after an intermission of 15 years. Recovery does not end in the first few years as originally thought. I am living proof , as recovery is continuing even after 20 years. You have been inspiartional in this video also as there are minor details I recognize in your movement that causes me to believe you have come a long way in your recovery. Thank You!!
Thank you so much for this I am 2 years after my stroke and have been through physio with negligible results so far but you actually put things in terminology I can understand and give me stretches and exercises I can do I can't put my gratitude into words you are awesome
I really appreciate these videos. I had a car accident in 2007. I had a thriving fashion business. And I was on my way to a fashion show featuring my work. When the driver went head-on with a hummer, we were in a Honda. Well first, my carotid artery had at least five major strokes. Went into a coma. Had a swollen brain. Broken ribs, fractured skull. Well, I was so glad I got to you able to walk again. And some things just didn’t get better. I was a dancer before and really wanted my body back. It was such a disappointment that this happened for me. Of course, it is for anyone. I just hated addressing it. But the other side of that is worse. Having a business a very needy business, I went back to work . I gave everything to it. Ignoring what had happened to the best of my ability which was obviously not easy because I had cross eyed for two years, had a cane and was unable to lift anything. Blah blah blah. I’m sure all of you with strokes can comprehend what I’m talking about. Being at Dancer thinking I can do this myself.. but didn’t., just not really wanting to deal with it. I’ve kind of let some things just be left that’s a broken leg my left side, my left hand, balance, my feet, jumping. Just figured it ain’t their anymore. This is voice texting puppy, making a mess out of this but I just wanted to say thanks really like these. And I have some finger issues I want to address. Maybe I can share that at some point.
You don’t know how special you are I’ve been watching an commenting for some time now an watching your videos I can’t tell you how much it helps/helped in so many ways last year I couldn’t move my left side at all really now I’m walking an without a cane now an working on my hand now with your videos an I’m already seeing progress thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

You are a life saver. I've been down with stroke about 4 months now, my elbow down to my fingers can't move. I think I have mild spasticity. I'll try these exercises. I hope it will not hurt my shoulder because that is painful.

My left hand had great splasticity and always kept pn curling back into a fist until I did the weight baring. I kept on for a month and Now I can literally bend my elbow and feel my wrist muscles strengthening.. Thank you so much

I'm in Orlando doing home therapy twice a week. Pt and ot my fingers are straight out and I have partial movement even though I feel them numb and some tingling on them. I have been rubbing clove oil, nueropathy rubbing oil my elbow gets stiff at time
Im going through the sane thing, had a stroke 3 months ago , affecting my left side, I been doing alot of self therapy, I’ve installed a few grab bars around my house so i can practice squatting and for safety, also installed a pully so i can stretch out my arm, including w all these I have a floor bicycle petals and I do alot of walking.. so far I’ve advanced quite a bit , but its a daily challenge still, just don’t give up, good luck 👍🏼
I have been waiting for this video for a while. My hand is moderate but these exercises are exactly what i been looking for. Im a stroke survivor just past my 1 year. I actually found a glove that i made rigid called neofect glove it has straps for all finger and the wrist what i do i put popsicle sticks on the inside on both sides. I try to wear it half the day. Im now trying to regain my hand movement now so thank you i been following your videos and using it as part of my recovery regimen. Please dont stop and thank you so much.
YES!!! I love popsicle sticks! I use tongue depressors and I usually tape them to the fingers during therapy. I like the tongue depressors because they are wider and you finger won't "spill over the sides". Keep up the great work and the suggestion about the glove!!
You have really helped me I had a stroke in June 2022 it’s December 2022 now an I almost have full control of my left side thanks to you keep up the amazing work your a blessing people need you

His left arm goes up to his shoulder and is so tight. I need to know how I can help him bring it down and relieve any discomfort. Any information you have to help me in his recovery will be helpful.
Thanks so much for your instruction very rencouraging and helpful, great information, my demon is multiple sclerosis. It's unfortunarely that my Neurologist has never addressed this problem. As far as the hand splint design. What if there was a pump ball in the palm that could be adjusted withlike a blood pressure cuff pump. This is hard trying to explain and type one handed. But I hope you have the idea. Thank you for all your help
Thanks for this Dr. Tobias. My hand is in the moderate-severe range and stays fisted. I can move my thumb away from the other fingers though. For now, I will paddle the hand before going to bed and try to keep it splinted over night. Not much else to be done for now.

I'm so glad I found this channel for these helpful exercises. I suffered a stroke 5yrs ago, I still feel stiffness in my shoulder do you think that these exercises can be useful?
I dont know if you made a splint yet but fyi when my son was in a coma his pt made a special splint to keep his hands open with this special material that came in sheets they traced around his hand and arm cut it out with scissors soaked it in hot water molded it on his hand and arm in the position they wanted and as it dried it became solid then they marked where they wanted straps and brought it back the next day with everything attached when i asked what it was they said a type of cast material but it was thick and skin toned and when it hardened it didnt bend or anything it felt smooth and hard like plastic
Good day dr , thank you so much for both briefing and showing how to go about the exercise. After a relapse, my left side become weak. Index finger curled . I voluntarily keep doing exercise and ensure it does not. Please suggest/ guide me how to overcome the same. Please upload excercise for the same mam
My fingers and hand are not spastic but fingers only form fist and don't extend finger on my command what should i do thanks in advance for you efforts
thanks. this is great for the hand but I would really appreciate a similar video about how to teach a frozen wrist to rotate. I used to play a lot of instruments but since the stroke I haven't even been able to play the piano, which should be the easiest, because my left wrist doesn't turn around in the required fashion. so I would really appreciate a bit more of your help and instruction. thanks and all the best
I was glad to hear you mentioned not to squeeze the putty in your hand like a ball i've done this and I ended up with trigger finger each time so I quit doing that
@rehabhq I have a kind of finger movement problem that when I move one finger (i.e. the thumb) all other fingers tend to jump in. How to attack this problem? Thanks a bunch for your help; God bless you. P.S. maybe you and your team can do a video about this problem.
Doctor, I love your videos and they give me a lot of hope. I believe my hand is in the moderate/severe spasticity stage. I have a physio ball which when I squeeze makes my hand shake a lot. Does this mean I should stop squeezing and only focus on stretching for now?
Please do not use the ball, this would only increase the imbalance between flexor and extensor muscle, please use putty as demonstrated on the video- it works on both sides.
Hi tarra . Thanks for the video. I've. Watched most of them . My. Hands still. Knackered . Virtually in a fist any tips ?? For. Me. I can occasionally move my pinky and thumb ??

My fingers and hand are not spastic but fingers only form fist and don't extend finger on my command what should i do thanks in advance for you efforts
thanks. this is great for the hand but I would really appreciate a similar video about how to teach a frozen wrist to rotate. I used to play a lot of instruments but since the stroke I haven't even been able to play the piano, which should be the easiest, because my left wrist doesn't turn around in the required fashion. so I would really appreciate a bit more of your help and instruction. thanks and all the best
Depends on if you have spasticity or not, depends on where you live. In UK contacting local NHS services would be best option
I was glad to hear you mentioned not to squeeze the putty in your hand like a ball i've done this and I ended up with trigger finger each time so I quit doing that
Thank you seems all is not lost even 6 years recovery
Thanks for watching Holly!! Absolutely. All is not lost and progress is progress no matter how big or small :)

I have a kind of finger movement problem that when I move one finger (i.e. the thumb) all other fingers tend to jump in.
How to attack this problem?
Thanks a bunch for your help; God bless you.
P.S. maybe you and your team can do a video about this problem.

Hello I can’t grip or open my left hand I had a left sid bleed
Please Ma for how long can we apply the splint?
Superb......👍👍👍great piece of information
