    Thank You so much for these exercises, so I can continue my recovery even though it has been 20 years since my stroke at 25. I am unable to see if these exercises are helping me as I just started them yesterday and I have finally been sent to occupational therapy after an intermission of 15 years. Recovery does not end in the first few years as originally thought. I am living proof , as recovery is continuing even after 20 years. You have been inspiartional in this video also as there are minor details I recognize in your movement that causes me to believe you have come a long way in your recovery. Thank You!!

    I really appreciate these videos. I had a car accident in 2007. I had a thriving fashion business. And I was on my way to a fashion show featuring my work. When the driver went head-on with a hummer, we were in a Honda. Well first, my carotid artery had at least five major strokes. Went into a coma. Had a swollen brain. Broken ribs, fractured skull. Well, I was so glad I got to you able to walk again. And some things just didn’t get better. I was a dancer before and really wanted my body back. It was such a disappointment that this happened for me. Of course, it is for anyone. I just hated addressing it. But the other side of that is worse. Having a business a very needy business, I went back to work . I gave everything to it. Ignoring what had happened to the best of my ability which was obviously not easy because I had cross eyed for two years, had a cane and was unable to lift anything. Blah blah blah. I’m sure all of you with strokes can comprehend what I’m talking about. Being at Dancer thinking I can do this myself.. but didn’t., just not really wanting to deal with it. I’ve kind of let some things just be left that’s a broken leg my left side, my left hand, balance, my feet, jumping. Just figured it ain’t their anymore. This is voice texting puppy, making a mess out of this but I just wanted to say thanks really like these. And I have some finger issues I want to address. Maybe I can share that at some point.

    I have been waiting for this video for a while. My hand is moderate but these exercises are exactly what i been looking for. Im a stroke survivor just past my 1 year. I actually found a glove that i made rigid called neofect glove it has straps for all finger and the wrist what i do i put popsicle sticks on the inside on both sides. I try to wear it half the day. Im now trying to regain my hand movement now so thank you i been following your videos and using it as part of my recovery regimen. Please dont stop and thank you so much.

    • @rehabhqofficial
      @rehabhqofficial  4 года назад +2

      YES!!! I love popsicle sticks! I use tongue depressors and I usually tape them to the fingers during therapy. I like the tongue depressors because they are wider and you finger won't "spill over the sides". Keep up the great work and the suggestion about the glove!!

    I used a mirror box at first to work on my dexterity, and the pinky was the most difficult finger to participate. The various play doe helps or different grades of sand. Be proactive and talk to the effected hand though that sounds silly, but it seems to help. Rest is so important.

    Doctor, I love your videos and they give me a lot of hope. I believe my hand is in the moderate/severe spasticity stage. I have a physio ball which when I squeeze makes my hand shake a lot. Does this mean I should stop squeezing and only focus on stretching for now?

      Please do not use the ball, this would only increase the imbalance between flexor and extensor muscle, please use putty as demonstrated on the video- it works on both sides.

    Dr. Tobias,
    My mother had a stroke 2yrs ago, it has affected her right side spasticity has set in her arm very tight against her body. Should I be putting a pillow between right arm/side of her body to keep her right arm flaccid? Thank you viewer of your video's.
