Very time-consuming to make, plus I have other goals for this channel! I used to upload other things before these music videos. I’d like to keep some variety in my content if that makes sense!
I'm still like that, games like Final Fantasy, Mario, some God of War landscapes too, Zelda, Shadow of the colossus, I love vibing to these, but it's always a bit sad actually...
I totally feel that, bro. Sonic 3D blast was a huge slap for me at the time - discovering the third dimension when you are a 10 yo Sonic fan... truly, en experience. Discovering there was more landscapes, so beautiful...
This is just so upsetting for some reason. I never realized how beautiful Sonic music really is and this CRT filter makes it so nostalgic for a time I wouldn’t be for until 20 something years later.
Something about Genesis Era Sonic just hits differently. Maybe its because of how simple everything looks which makes it look beautiful as well as it having this vibe of peace
just like everyone else, I feel like so at ease listening to these. with the aesthetics and how it used to actually sound back then... really glad i found this
Well, I was never able to try these games (currently I can try Sonic 3 A.I.R especially) but, I imagine people from that time commenting and talking about Sonic, and how his games were great, and just in case... SONIC CD AND HIS SOUNDTRACK ARE THE BEST! (Good top)
I accidentally did that. I appreciate you pointing it out! That’s what happens when I’m deciding from so many different tracks and get confused unfortunately, but at least it’s a really good song lol
@@kesaresan you can still do it guys, go watch the spondgebob movie or step brothers, there must be balance in life. Trust me I found all the pieces of the Triforce
in the mid-late 90s i use to make Genesis mixtapes by holding one of those Talk Boys from Home Alone up next to the TV speaker. i had several cassettes full of all Genesis music lol. this playlist reminds me of making those. good times.
I had done the same with my best friend. I remember playing Sonic 3D Blast on Genesis (MegaDrive, in France), on wednesdays afternoon, and being in love with the soundtrack, we decided to record it on tape. We were playing in his parents' living room, and at 4PM, their clock tingled. Almost 30 years later, when I listen to the Credits, I still picture in my head the exact moment the bells ring. A core memory for sure.
Man, this brings me back so hard to a simpler time. Playing the Mega and gems collections in middle school. Those games and their respective soundtracks helped me forget all of my troubles around that time. It honestly made me super attached not only to sonic, but most of Sega's properties as a whole. Good ol days indeed
SEGA Genesis (including the SEGA CD and the Super 32X), SEGA Saturn and SEGA Dreamcast, the trillogy is complete now! Of course we don't have the SEGA Master System and SEGA Game Gear, but I think that's acceptable considering Sonic started on the MegaDrive and even though he has a lot of good titles with good OSTs (not a surprise for the series in general), I think the Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast represent Sonic a lot more. I'm also really happy the songs I was waiting for were in fact here, Evening Star, Midnight Greenhouse, Seascape, Door into Summer, Tidal Tempest Present (US), D.A. Garden (JP) and Diamond Dust Zone, got happier and happier each time each of those showed up, also, using Sonic the Fighters as the background image was an amazing and fun choice considering how pretty the game looks and how cool the art direction of Fighters is. Although I was thinking the animated backgrounds of the stages of that era were going to be used, like Marina Madness', Palmtree Panic's or Botanic Base's backgrounds were going to be used, I think Fighters was a much more interesting and cool choice anyways.
Master System and Game Gear are certainly good ideas for a potential future video if I decide to explore this concept again! Glad you enjoyed the video :) I thought a lot about what backgrounds I wanted to use for this one, and ultimately concluded that Fighters would be the best choice because 1. it was relatively easy to capture and 2. I feel like the stages represent the genesis games really well!
@LowPoly32 I also recommend (if you didn’t know it) the Ristar soundtrack for other of this videos. Also, I just remembered that there’s another 32X game called Tempo, that has very funky soundtrack, just to throw in some ideas. It might help you in future music videos.
These shots you got of the Sonic the Fighters stages are brilliant. They didn't have to go so hard on background details for a fighting game, but Sega AM2 went ahead and made everything look incredible anyway!
18:14 Danger is lurking around every turn, trust your feelings got to live and learn, I know with some luck that I'll make it through, got no other options, only one thing to do!!

I had a Sega Genesis long after it was off store shelves, but right as the 'retro gaming' movement was picking up and starting to become mainstream. I loved the games as it stood, and suddenly an online community started expanding right around my interest. I'm not a very sentimental guy, but really it felt like a magical time. Playing games that felt esoteric in nature on a giant CRT hauled down from the attic, carefree summers spent driving to garage sales with my Mom, learning about obscure failed pieces of technology that I thought were the coolest things ever invented, and then stepping into a used game store and gawking at 'insane' prices that people would probably kill for nowadays (also revering the employees like true masters of a forgotten craft.) When I look back at it, almost everything has changed. It's like people realized how good of a thing there was going and started trying to squeeze it for all the money it's worth. I was a kid with no responsibilities then, and now I'm a legal adult who needs to decide what he wants to do with the rest of his life now. When I was a kid, I would wonder why my older relatives sold off almost all of their hobby stuff to help pay for a car or college, but now I find myself doing the same things for the same reason. People who I thought had incredible collections now seem like normal people going through midlife crises, and one day I bet I'll do the same in one way or another. Even the summers have changed, they're hotter than they ever were before. But you know, there are plenty of things that haven't changed. These games are just as good now as they were then, and then they were just as good as they were 20 years ago, and I'm still listening to their soundtracks because they still stand on their own. And I guess I can't have changed that much, because I bet if kid me saw me now, he would think I was the coolest person alive. Even if the times aren't 'magical' anymore, maybe one day they will be again, and when they are 'magical' again this stuff will still be transcendentally cool. Maybe things are 'magical' right now and I don't even notice.
Back in 2016 I found my dad's Model 1 Genesis in the basement, hidden in plain sight for nearly 15 years. I have it hooked up to an old CRT to make a nice retro gaming setup. Sucks that all the best games are crazy expensive (I paid $30 for Sonic 3, loose copy, without Knuckles, or $50 for Smash Melee on GameCube).
it’s so so sad that kids these days don’t get to experience genuinely thought out ideas and games created by pure artists and geniuses. nowadays they get garbage cash grabs. i genuinely and sincerely feel so sad for the future generations to come.
These are so amazing!! Even though I didn’t experience this era, it makes me nostalgic for when I used to play the SEGA Genesis collection on Xbox 360. Thank you so much for this video!

ey man, I just have to say that I love your content here so much I'm always coming back here to diferents videos before sleep just to simply feel good and welcomed by this chaotic yet beautiful world thank you ~☆
Hello there Sorry I forgot to ask you if there was ok to use your playlist here on yt , I already did but your channel its on the description with the music videos link aswell, its for background of streamin
ay i did something like this on my channel using sonic origins footage, it was called "the sights and sounds of classic sonic". very cool mix, thanks for inspiring me!!
Thanks for this! This is the first time I actually sat down to listen to Tidal Tempest US.. have to say it's ABSOLUTELY not fitting! The vocals are weird and just don't fit.. A friend of mine recently played through CD in origins for the first time and he told me the music was VERY forgettable! And all this because it's not clear in Origins how to change the music in the menu.... Edit: Door into Summer is SO DAMN GOOD haha!
I feel obligated to say now that I have been listening to this almost every day it's too fire of a playlist! My current favorite is Midnight Greenhouse🔥
Last one of these for now! Enjoy!

These are so amazing!! Even though I didn’t experience this era, it makes me nostalgic for when I used to play the SEGA Genesis collection on Xbox 360. Thank you so much for this video!
Many thanks man 🦔👍And thanks to Google translation for English (I'm Swiss )

The bit at 4:42 sounds super similar to "Spiral Bliss" from Iridion II; fun coincidence! Love those changes.
no sky chase?
Ah sonic CD
with all due respect but it seems disrespectful to me that the sonic 3 chrome gadget is not here
ay i did something like this on my channel using sonic origins footage, it was called "the sights and sounds of classic sonic". very cool mix, thanks for inspiring me!!
Glad someone else is doing some similar stuff! Best of luck with your channel
@@LowPoly32 THANKS BRO!!!!
That Combinations from Knuckles Chaotix go dummy hard
Honestly this style looks like those modified Green Hill zones made by .exes about to give you a jumpscare but This video is amazing
