If Tesla's self driving is that good, why do they need humans to drive the newly manufactured vehicles out of the factory to the shipping yard??? Same route for every vehicle, it is off the main roads to get to the shipping point where they put on a truck. If that needs a human, than you better put one in those taxi vehicles.
Not permitted to drive on public roads. That is why they built the tunnel under the highway. Once the tunnel is open the cars will go to the outbound lot on their own. Tesla will then get rid of people that drive the cars from the assembly line to the outbound lot. Cost reductions will save money and increase margins.
Imagine if this gets passed, tesla would make a killing if they offer a subscription for robotaxi for daily commutes to and from work/school.
