Dave, thanks for putting this up. I've been wanting to check out these commentaries, but the box sets I have... suck
Thanks for putting this up. On the bit about blaster rhyming i seem to remember him saying something in cosmic rust "primes really going to have the blues for this news, there's nowhere to shop for more chorostop?"
This was remarkably well done, thank you for it! Fascinating stuff!
The only reason I watched this episode in the first place was because soundwave was actually in it. He didn't have alot of roles in season 3...
Broadside also was in Aircraft Carrier Mode in 5 Faces of Darkness.
That was very informative. More of the same please.
I think the Autobot Run and City of Steel look worse, but just dont have the errors. I had this episode on zVhs as a kid, so that is perhaps why I love it so much. Magnus vs. Galv are always the best ones.
I think Nelson Shin would be terribly sad if AKOM wasen't given a project to help his animators get on their feet. Like it or not if it wasen't for those early Transformers episodes from seasons 2-4, AKOM wouldn't be the top studio they were today. Removing episodes wouldn't have made a bit of difference in the animation quality, studios like Toei were busy producing all sorts of differnet productions and mistakes would be inevitable. That's why we ended up having 35mm and broadcast versions.
galvatron and soundwave are briefly seen holding hands 5:47.
Great excellent commentary.
One error you missed though was Defensor was seen fighting along side Hot Spot. But that's OK. You where talking about something else at the time. You can't do 2 things at once. Just goes to show how many errors are in this episode if one can't keep up
lol, little fleshies.
I hate this episode I almost fell alsleep watching it lol butthanks for putting p these commintaries David don't know why Chris didn't do commentary on the UK dvds I own is well beyond me
hi chris.
ray here. you know, ray down the road 'ray'?
i'm considering setting the synopsis of this 'unique' episode to music!
what you think/
ray
i only saw this episode because it was the only thing broadside appeared in that i could find....not worth it,he did practically nothing but stand there.
That episode is just depressing.
I noticed it. Add to that it' the aliens' synthesizers (4 me, not their singing),, Soundwave acting close to dumb helper than the usual smart one. Stopping there; I could Energizer Eunny keep going and going and going about this crap.
@ShuHibiki I'm the last person you should be telling to move on because I watched all major TF series between G1 and Galaxy Force, some I liked (even more so than G1) and some I didn't. I pointed out its flaws because G-Whiners bitch about newer series and treat the original as if it was a flawless holy gift from God, it was too flawed even for an 80's show. Regarding 'anime': I'm saying it should have been fully done by Toei because AKOM are just not up to standard and made it less anime-ish.
AKOM should not have been allowed to animate Transformers and just let Toei do it. And they should have reduced the episode count, especially by removing the crap episodes (King Arthur's Court, BOT, The Rebirth) so that they could use the money to put in some better animation quality, G1 is too difficult to enjoy with all these errors. Just make it all-out anime on the humans too and not just anime-up the robots.
God this episode is so awful, lol. It was difficult to forget it ever happend.
Great commentay.
But still, "Carnage in C-minor" is the most f***ed up G1 episode ever...this and B.O.T.
This episode is absolute crap. I try to forget it.
Such a bad episode! why!? WHY!?
