These pilots are the best of the best. Living in Vegas, I get to see them practicing at Nellis Air Force base during their off season. I’ve been watching them for the forty plus years, yet I still get goosebumps whenever I watch them.
They're actually a very accurate sampling of all Air Force personnel across the service. They are no better than any other Pilots, demonstrated by the fact that half the team rotates out every season. This "plug and play" changing of pilots supports the notion that all Air Force pilots are top shelf, and that the team is not simply the "best of the best". The team itself is very clear to note that they are no better than any other pilots serving in the AF.
As an Air Force veteran, my heart jumps a beat or three seeing these beauties taxi & lift off like this. I am also a retired airport employee & this makes me miss the place!
Sim, e verdade
Thank you for your service!
I never get tired of watching the Thunderbirds. My son is a 17year veteran of the USAF. He spent4years with the team. I got to see them 4times. A time we will never forget.
A salute and gratitude to your son and family!! Thank you!
The Air Force’s best recruiting tool. I’ve seen the Thunderbirds more times than I can remember and they still make me smile, even when departing for the next show. Elite aerobatic teams are flat-out impressive.
Great job,
the professionalism of these folks, the blue angels, any flight of a nation's best pilots is just heart-pounding. this is why the day after an exposition the recruiting offices get packed. thankyou for this. it brought back good military memories.
Thank you for your service gentlemen.
I watched these guys practice almost every day from my elementary school, which was a stone's throw from Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas! Every once in a while we'd get a tail waggle or a wing tip as we watched them pass over our school. A fantastic sight and even a better listen! Our whole school would shake when they passed over! It was great!
I'm an Air Force brat 2 and can remember many times watching them or just watching the Air Force takeoff do touch-and-go's
How lucky you all are
Wish I could see them. Just watching the clip gave me chills.
@@lillianschimmeck3985 I have seen the 'Birds and other units land and depart from KIND. I love this video but the live sound in person makes even more impressive, it that is even possible.
It is truly impossible to comprehend the progress that manned flight has made in the span of 100 years. These machines and the men who fly them are a stark reminder of what dedicated and talented men are capable of.
Women too fly them
*First ever Wright Brothers flight to jets in 40 years!*
The one thing I miss the most of my time in the Air Force. The sound of a jet spinning up, then taking off. Plus Williams AFB got the Thunderbirds every other year for our airshow. Something to do with us having had one of the first acrobatic teams, the Acrojets, flying P-80's, from 1948-1953.
Thank You Boricua For The Video! Its A Few Years Old, But Its Always Good To See The Thunderbird's Showing Support And Entertaining The Beautiful Island Country Of Puerto Rico! Love, Peace And Blessings! Wepa PR!!! Wepa!!!
As a student pilot doing a cross country with my instructor we landed at Albuquerque and as we were leaving I was told to go to runway & hold. Waited for 5 or more minutes then the Thunderbirds came roaring down, all lifting off at the same time (4 wide). What a thrill!! Then I got to take off after them. Another time was to see my nephew in an air show flying with the "Tacos" out of Albuquerque.
Saw the Thunderbirds at Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico back in the early 70’s. You never forget that !!
Dang! That was awesome, thanks for sharing. Would have loved to had been there to hear, feel and smell them taking off. Great view point and camera work - nice and sharp and in focus.
Excellent! USAF A-10s @ DMAFB, AZ 1976-1977. 355 TFTW. First A-10s in AF inventory! Never forget it.
Ron Henry is my cousin. You might remember him.
I'll bet the reaction was pretty spectacular lol. What a sight that must have b een.
The best of the best! May God guard protect and keep all our soldiers safe and that they always can come home!
Thunderbird's lift-off, fascinating to watch! ✈🇺🇸
Never seen all 8 t-birds fly together. Most excellent. I loved how they lined up four abreast and left off a synchronized smoke blast... just a little extra panache. :D
And then a super tedious five hr somewhat over water straight line flight to Texas and programmed aircraft maintenance lol

I am always in total awe when I see the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels perform, and also the Canadian Snowbirds! What superb teams they are! I remember many years ago while working in a 32-story high-rise in San Francisco, the Blue Angels were practicing for Fleet Week and we were watching those beautiful birds as they actually flew BELOW us a couple of times flying towards the Bay! Just "thrilling" doesn't do that justice! Blue skies, pilots! And thank you!
My cousin was in the Thunderbirds for 4 yrs, the last 2 yrs being the lead jet for the performances. They came to my city and my aunt was there so we got to sit out on the runway as a family…watched the whole show in awe!
Lucky you. What pride you must have for them..
4 years is very long for a Thunderbird tour, and no pilot ever rotates to the lead jet from one of the wingmen. The lead is a command level officer specifically chosen from a field of qualified Col or Lt Col candidate applicants. Their time in command prior to Thunderbird command is very specific. Your facts may be slightly out of alignment.
USAF Thunderbirds are a long time tradition during Cheyenne Frontier Days. My favorite part of the summer every year. They practice over my house day before the show.
To end this video with an American workhorse MD-83 was just icing on the cake. Great video and great closing! Maddog Life!

Sweet! Thank you for posting.
Badass. So proud to be an American. 🇺🇲
Fantastic plane spotting location without a doubt and you don't get to see a team like this taxi around and take-off with this kind of viewpoint either. It seems to me at least that we are looking down at the airport from about the same height as the tower!!
Use to watch them practice while attending the NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Nellis AFB is right across the highway from the track. They’d practice overhead most of the morning until the cars came on the track. Free show Friday and Saturday. It was wonderful watching them!
I'll be an old man ... and I'll STILL marvel at how in the world they get up in the air!! Nice job man!! Did you know the fighters were going up??
How I missed to be active duty. I'm so proud to served the GREATEST USA! GOD BLESS THIS LOVELY NATION!
I just love this stuff!!
My all time fav. and heart-pounding sights i have ever encountered... They all are Class Acts. God bless you all.. Peace Shawn k.

I've seen them many times, but I've never seen the full squadron take off like this. Absolutely amazing.

Saw the Thunderbirds at Bentwaters UK. Fantastic display and noise. Thanks for the memories.
Me too! 1971-1973
I spent many years on the end of a runway working the Aircraft Arresting Systems. I was very proud of the aircraft that the USAF was buying, but, this is crazy!!!!!!
GReat video! Go the Thunderbirds! You beauty!
BEAUTIFUL ! Might makes right, baby !

I love these planes and the pilots! Always excites me to see them!!
In Houston, we have had 2 F-16s flying around the city for the last two weeks. Not sure why, but I’ve been in meetings and have jumped up and run to see them fly by. Only with employees....thankfully clients are still on the phone...they never notice. I feel exactly the same way though.
I had the privilege to see them many years ago at Cherry Point MCAS ❤❤
dont you just love the idle sound of these things, once you hear it for the first time, you'll remember it for a life time

Will never tire of these Americans. Spectacular show every time. Partial to the Blue Angels. Lol.
they’re back here (sjafb) for july 4th 2019! we’ve suffered through the last 3 with the blue angels; just not the same. i’ve been watching these guys since the 60s. saw them first at nellis - seen them all over the world at airshows...
F-16 can do a vertical takeoff, being close is such a thrill (100ft) working on them is lots of fun too.
that was so cool thanks for putting this on youtube
They just came to our city/airport early August and their show was terrific!
Goosebumps x 1'000 000!! Thank you for this!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Still one of my favorite aircraft Iron Eagles i have you to thank for that.

Excellent, I mean excellent , camera work.focus stayed on great , you followed your subject, great timing , kept It center, you wasted no time returning to next subject, time and time again, regrouping ,and following thru, wow amazing!
I was support for t BIRDS at Nellis afb, from1973 to 1984. In 1977 the blue angels came to Nellis, summer, showed them how the Navy / Marines do it. Tighter guarters ( formation). The blue angels all Take off together in formation all at the same TIME!!!!! NOSE TO BUTT. AFTER ANGELS LEFT, THE T BIRDS STARTED PRACTICING EVERY DAY, AND THEN SHORTLY AFTER THE T BIRDS HAD IT DOWN!!
I WATCHED THEM EVERY DAY. THEY WORKED VERY VERY HARD. AND ALL THEIR MANEUVERS THEY POLISHED THEIR MOVES AND IT WAS AWESOME.
BELIEVE IT OR NOT OF ALL THE SHOWS OVER IN VEGAS 5 MILES AWAY I WAS ENJOYING THE BEST SHOW VEGAS HAD TO OFFER RIGHT ON THE RUNWAY AND AIR WOWW!!!
MY JOB WAS, YOU ASK???

SOMETIMES WE HAVE A BUNCH OF PLANES BACKED UP AND RUNWAY CLOSED. I GOT DOWN ON IT ,( THE TRUCK THROTTLE ) MADE THAT INTERNATIONAL V 8
ROLL DOWN THE RUNWAY TO CLEAN A MESS, ANG HAULED BUT TO CLEAR RUNWAY ,END TO END.
I INSPECTED RUNWAYS ,TARMACS, PARKING AREAS FOR HANGERS, TAXIWAYS, BASE OPS.AND IF I WASN'T DOING THIS I WOULD BE BACK AT MY BASE AREA 2 , OPERATING HEAVY BULLDOZERS AND MISC.OTYER HEAVY CONST. EQUIPMENT , MAINTAINING ROADS, OR BUILDING BASE PROJECTS. STATIONED WITH 820 TH C.E.S.IS PROBABLY MY MOST FUN JOB I HAVE HAD EXCEPT BUILDING AND DRIVING DRAGCARS! Tuve la dicha de ver a estos grandes pilotos acrobático de la Fuerza aérea norteamericana cuando vinieron a Venezuela en la base aérea de palo negro en el estado Aragua todo mi saludo y respeto para ellos
Very impressive but when four of them were lined up and ready to go, I thought they'd be taking off together. They don't waste time either by the looks, they took off very fast and efficiently. Just a Red Arrows fan here from the GB and looking in on your Thunder Birds and Blue Angels.
I've seen it only once where the runway was wide enough to accommodate 4 F-18's at once and it was impressive.
loved it! how many people would ever get to see what you saw. glad you filmed it and posted it.
Great Camera!! Better than Most I've seen!!...Compliments!!
I love the roar. Amazing
Súper cool , USA 🇺🇸 and Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
YES, THATS WHAT IM TAKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!! Awesome!
Awesome - thanks so much for posting. Good stuff.
The last Jetliner, fantastic take-off.
You know what is the worst, that your job giving us this videos is excellent, but there are always people criticizing something they can’t do. I bet money that whoever is criticizing your work hasn’t even take a picture with a POLAROID camera. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming my friend. Something else , if they don’t like it, why they keep on coming?
HAHA, that MD 80 showed em how it's done. She rotated in the same distance as those F 16"s did. Pilot was probly amped up after watching those F 16"s take off.

Great catch of those Thunderbirds from hilltop!
Absolutely amazing
Wow!! We are blessed to have the awesome power of our military to protect this Great nation!.
Those F-16s are still the sleekest and nicest looking birds.
The prettiest jet ever to fly for me.
Every 10 seconds or so one is taking off. Love the TBirds
Wow.... Awesome RC
First time I saw them they were in F-100s. Same show I got to see SR-71 precursor, YF-12A
amazing video. . .Runway is 150 ft wide (notice piano keys at the end) so the F-16s look like little RC planes!
U.S.A.F.T.B. great footage ! ! !
Nice View from the thunder birds🇺🇸🇵🇷😊👋👏👋
I got to see them in 2012 in Wichita, Kan. at McConnell Air Force base. AWSOME show. I hear that they're going to be there again this year(2022). Wish i lived closer, or knew someone to go with me that could help with the driving. They're going to be there September 24th or 25th.
Gr8 video, mate!
Speechless 💕

Awesome baby
Just as awesome as ever.
Good video and well done to get each aircraft individually during take off as well as in taxiing.
wow...amazing !
So cool! LOVE watching these jets!!!! I could watch them for days...💙💙💙💙
Fantastic video
That MD-80 is quiet compared to those thunderbirds, but still louder than the A320 they took off first! lol.
