For years my mom has been bothering me to go through my clothes, but since im between home and school so much i felt like I never had time, and when I did i would just bag them then shove them under my bed. But after watching all your closet purging I got inspired to really tackle my own closet and it feels amazing! I have 3 giant shopping bags full of clothes to donate and rather than feeling sad im getting rid or money or memories I feel more free and have clothes I actually like filling my closet instead of random things ill never wear again. So thank you for giving me that push!!

Ever tried lint rollers? My husbands grandma has a cat and had also a dog, they both occasionally had/have time periods where their hair fall a lot, especially the cat but she never has pet hair on her clothes. I've done the same when I had my pets they're fast to use and work great. I still have it always in my house since I almost always wear black so I use it sometimes.
Thank you for showing a minimalist closet where there are still a decent number of clothes for different occasions in there. I have been downsizing since last summer (probably donated 4-5 boxes of clothese). I am down to 2 small hanging bars (one in a closet and one in a small wardrobe) plus a trunk with some sweaters, and a dresser with pajamas and underwear type things. I can probably still donate some things, but feel like I wear most of what's left between work, gym, casual situations, and around the house. Some of the minimalists I see are basically to owning a handful of casual wear and maybe one dress (which is fine for them if they can do that)...it's unrealistic for my life to own that little.
Katrin I love that you kept us updated on your journey! It definitely motivated me to get rid of things that I don't need! I am in college so when I came home I found it easier to identify what I actually wore vs what I really don't wear. It is a slow journey of course, but I like that through your videos you showed going through different things (clothes, make up, ect) seperately instead of trying to do everything at once! It's really great to see we can all evolve and grow in our lives, on the journey myself after reading the "Marie Kondo" book last year & starting examining the innate desire to keep consuming & desiring "new things" :)
lint rollers really help for the hair thing, they're fast and work great, I use it all the time and I don't even have pets anymore but because of the maniac I am and I almost only wear black

I also have a pet and it's impossible don't have any hair on the clothes, I used to use a sticky paper roll, but it was expensive cause you have to repurchase when the sticky paper ran out, but like a moth ago in a Chinese cheap store I found a sticky roll with like a jelly thing that can be reuse just washing it, so is easy be a little less hairy
I don't know if they're available in Sweden but I love the furminator brush for my dogs. I brush them once a week with it and I don't have to deal with as much dog hair everywhere.
The dog hair struggle is so real, I also work from home and all of my at home casual clothes cannot be saved by the washing machine or even 100 passes with a lint roller
I work in a retail store and today I was changing mannequins. When I looked at the clothes on the one I had just changed there was dog hair on it from my dog! Dog hair literally gets everywhere and transfers to everything 😂

It's 100% just the way you feel about the clothing :) I just personally happen to like neutral basic clothing. But you can have a closet with only floral and striped clothes as long as you love those pieces!

It's not necessarily about discipline. It's about doing what makes you feel good, and if this doesn't make you feel good and that's not what motivates you, then minimalism is not necessarily for you! :)

Caroline Almeida Minimalism is about being intentional with your purchases as well as keeping only the things that bring you joy/serve a purpose. some minimalists have collections or enjoy having tons of makeup, etc, and that's just fine. it's basically just about not giving into consumerism and being sucked into the constant cycle of buying useless things and being broke because of it that we tend to fall into in the western world. There's no one right way to be a minimalist. :)
The blue dress I mentioned in the "seasonal" wear haha. It's what I wear to the few weddings I've ever been to. I never go to weddings, and I definitely won't buy fancy dresses for a party ^^ So I just use the one I have.

it's so funny to hear people say that clothes with fur on them are not wearable outside the house. I have 3 cats and let me tell you... there is not a single thing without fur that I own. I don't even notice anymore.
In my opinion they're not wearable outside the house. I don't want to walk around with hairy clothing. My boyfriend doesn't care, a lot of people don't care. It's just how I personally feel about it and my definition of "presentable" haha.
Minimalism has nothing to do with the amount of clothing you wear. You can have 10 items of clothing and not live a minimalist lifestyle and have 50 items of clothing and identify with minimalism.......
Im just asking so please dont treat me so bad... but being minimalistic isn't like a live style? Im saying this because having your lips done doesn't sound like a minimalistic thing a person would do. Please dont get me wrong, Im am not hating on you or anything bad. I just want to know because I think that lips injection or anything that has to do with chanching your body is not minimalistic at all. Haha lip injections have absolutely nothing to do with minimalism, just like dying your hair or getting tattoos doesn't have anything to do with minimalism. Granted there are a lot of different kinds of minimalism "kinds" like aesthetic minimalism, environmental minimalism, consumption minimalism etc etc. But for ME it's about not owning things that fill no purpose in my life and more importantly ONLY keeping things and purchasing things that make me happy and not just buy thing and keep things for other stupid reasons ^^ So getting my lips done or going on an expensive trip somewhere or eating nice food for me has nothing to do with my minimalism journey. :) If you wanna read/learn more about it check out Jenny Mustard's channel and blog!

i use the cheapest latex gloves i can find on my clothes and blankets to remove doggo hair! its honestly magical how fast and well it works

In my opinion they're not wearable outside the house. I don't want to walk around with hairy clothing. My boyfriend doesn't care, a lot of people don't care. It's just how I personally feel about it and my definition of "presentable" haha.

Minimalism has nothing to do with the amount of clothing you wear. You can have 10 items of clothing and not live a minimalist lifestyle and have 50 items of clothing and identify with minimalism.......

Im just asking so please dont treat me so bad... but being minimalistic isn't like a live style? Im saying this because having your lips done doesn't sound like a minimalistic thing a person would do. Please dont get me wrong, Im am not hating on you or anything bad. I just want to know because I think that lips injection or anything that has to do with chanching your body is not minimalistic at all.

Haha lip injections have absolutely nothing to do with minimalism, just like dying your hair or getting tattoos doesn't have anything to do with minimalism. Granted there are a lot of different kinds of minimalism "kinds" like aesthetic minimalism, environmental minimalism, consumption minimalism etc etc. But for ME it's about not owning things that fill no purpose in my life and more importantly ONLY keeping things and purchasing things that make me happy and not just buy thing and keep things for other stupid reasons ^^ So getting my lips done or going on an expensive trip somewhere or eating nice food for me has nothing to do with my minimalism journey. :) If you wanna read/learn more about it check out Jenny Mustard's channel and blog!
