I'm 70. Moved 3 years ago out of a 3 br 2 car garage house. My husband had passed away and it was too big. Now I've enjoyed a little 1 br apartment. But realized I still can condense. Going thru my stuff and having a ball selling my unnecessaries in online garage sales. Meeting the most interesting people. As soon as a Studio becomes available in my complex, I'm there and actually looking forward to it. Stay tuned!
in my opinion switching to minimalism is like breaking away from materialism. detaching yourself from worldly possessions and giving more importance to things that money can't buy.
3:17 Preach it, Anthony! After watching some of your other videos and about minimalism from other youtubers, this video was recommended to me. And it actually comes at the perfect time: After two months of a minimalistic lifestyle, I am smiling like an idiot whenever I look into the mirror and I get this weird feeling, and you put it into one word that I didn't even connect to it: Confidence, it is a new kind of confidence, of pure bliss and freedom of my mind and soul. Thank you, man :)
I’m a Doctor and minimalism has helped me to focus more in my patients. Since I’ve decluttered my office everything is so easy, I concentrate much better and my mind is sharper. Greetings.
One of my new years resolutions for 2017 is to become a minimalist - not only with my physical stuff, but mentally as well through less social media, looking at my cell phone, etc. Thank you for this encouraging video - subscribed
That's awesome that you became more confident with minimalism! I definitely agree that minimalism is for everyone, but that everyone's minimalism will look different.
I agree, it's funny how a lot of people go "That's not minimalism" simply because it's not their ideas of minimalism. Having said that, I suspect that the European idea of "owning very little" might vary from, say, American ideas.
I love this video and I immediately subscribed. Love your cool, relaxed vibe and you seem like a genuine nice person. :-) Mindful greetings, Vera from Simple Happy Zen
I found your channel because of MuchelleB. Thank you for sharing why you became a minimalist. This year, I planned on becoming one as I felt my life has been in so much mess physically, digitally, and mentally. I am doing great so far but my work schedule do not allow me to progress much faster.. I am still in the physical decluttering process but I am also slowly doing the mental declutter process... Thanks again.
I enjoy your videos so much I'm always disappointed when I get to the end. It's like everything you say wakes something up inside me. Very inspirational indeed.
Been practicing minimalism for a year now. I must say that it only helps me save money but it also helps me with anxiety or by opening my eyes to what’s really important in life
Enjoyed the video. I am still working on my minimalism but am finding what you are saying to be true. Loved the confidence benefit. You are right, when it is all as it should be, wow, what a feeling!
Great points. I find myself wearing the same clothing over, and over again. Its probably about a total of 20-25 articles of clothing. However, I have about another 25-30 articles of clothing still piled up in the closet. When I sat down, and thought about hoe much money and effort it took to make hat purchase. Lets just say it was eye opening. If we add up all that has been spent in money and time, and think about all the real things we want to accomplish. The time and money to reach those goals was lost in the items.
Greetings from Borneo. Found minimalism on RUclips, got interested and your video is really helpful. What you say rings true even in the jungle outskirts here. Buying things online is east these days but it never brings me lasting satisfaction or happiness.
I am loving your videos. I would never consider myself a minimalist, however, I DO have too much stuff! I want to have less stuff, but I don't think I would ever embrace holistic minimalism.
Hey Ruth, thanks for watching! I love minimalism as a general filter/practice but I likely have more "stuff" than many minimalists. It's really a balance of creating the environment that works best for you. That's all that matters. I think minimalism is really just a focus on owning & buying less, to refocus resources (time and money) elsewhere. Cheers!
great video. everything you said completely resonates with me. i like thinking about the big picture and what is going to bring me joy when i look back and reflect on my life, as well as while i'm living it. impulse purchases to fill a void very briefly and superficially, and logging on to social media to fill free time are definitely not what i need to be doing to live my life the way i want to.
Awesome video-- just found your channel and wanted to say I really agree with what you have to say, and you are very well spoken. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Im still thinking about this, and i know its a journey but I really like this video. I think I'm worried that if I get rid of my stuff ill have no personality. New subscriber andI look forward to your content!
Hey there, welcome to the channel. Truly, take your time and experiment-there's no right answer to any of this stuff and you'll discover so many cool things about yourself along the way. It really is a lifelong process.
YES. Minimalism simplifies evvverything! I'm loving spending time on what I choose to spend time on! :) Minimalism has endless benefits Really enjoyed your video. This is the first one I see of yours. Can't wait to check out the rest. Thanks!
Hello, Anthony! I like minimalism. And try to stick to it because it helps me to see things more clear. But I still have two collections: essential oil one (7 items) and perfume one (14 items). Can I call myself a minimalist? By the way, great channel. Helped me a lot to declutter. Thank you so much!
Hi, and welcome! Collections don't make you not a minimalist. And really, being a minimalist doesn't matter as much as the things you own not getting in the way of you living the life you desire. If your things cause no issues, you're okay in my book. :)
At the time, I was a marketing director for a biking nonprofit. Now, I run the break the twitch community (www.breakthetwitch.com/community) full time and occasionally do some video production for others.
The background music can better be removed .it hinders listening. display of important points can be increased please . making people review their life .very good !
Hi i just want to say your videos are great but may i suggest can you other visual aids that we can see or other adventure rather than just showing your face? Hehe
This was one of my earlier videos, so if you're interested in more videos about minimalism, habits and creativity, check out more recent videos on the channel. There will be more clips of other things other than my face. :)
Hey there! I have considered it, and might try soon. We've never tried fully, but we have been consciously reducing our meat consumption over the last year or so.

I became a minimalist because a cluttered room is harder to clean :')
Definitely true. :) That's one of the perks of minimalism - easier cleaning.
Stagpie Talks absolutely!!
Your articulation is the best! I like listening to you talk...you explain everything so well...clear and simple.

Exact same thoughts here. I have been researching this for a week now and have been downsizing. This is by far my favorite video and I subscribed.
It's so funny to find you because my minimalism journey started when I reviewed my Amazon habits. Yikes!! Thanks for doing what you do.
I'm glad you found me, Betty! Welcome to Break the Twitch, it sounds like we have a lot to talk about!

Thinking about making the switch to minimalism. Thanks for the informative video!

Really appreciated this video. I've been on a slow but meaningful journey through minimalism and making work for me. :)

+krissydmckenzie Thank you Krissy. Yes! I hear you - it's' so easy for those things to sneak in when we don't want them to.
I love the way you speak, i feel like i want to write all this down.
You can always come back to the video :)
Break the Twitch i did, i even showed it to other people. You're awesome, dude!
Thank you for sharing! I really like your channel and you really help me see more about minimalism! Keep going!

I’m curious...besides adding it up myself is there a way I can get the total number I have spent on amazon
Awesome video-- just found your channel and wanted to say I really agree with what you have to say, and you are very well spoken. Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Awesome. Truly inspiring
You have a great channel I subscribed already, I am practicing minimalism too and it really feels great
Appreciate that, welcome to the channel!
great video . the space idea is great
Thank you!
Hmmm, we should have organised a minimalism meetup to discuss this further as I too are working towards minimalism.
Great Video!
Oh man! I really should have thought about doing my own meet up for that. I was a little too intimidated to schedule anything. :)
+Break the Twitch same same. I'll sieze the opportunity next year. at least you met one this year ;-)

+Stories We Love Thank you!!
Your intro is hilarious af. 😂👌
Could I ask about your current occupation? (I can understand if you don't want to answer since I'm just a random person on the internet).
At the time, I was a marketing director for a biking nonprofit. Now, I run the break the twitch community (www.breakthetwitch.com/community) full time and occasionally do some video production for others.
Great video, but you could have got a bit more minimalist on the soundtrack. Why does it need that music in the background?
inspiring, thank you:(
I automatically put a like on the video because his beard looks so good 😍
This is an acceptable reason for a like. 😬
The background music can better be removed .it hinders listening. display of important points can be increased please . making people review their life .very good !
I like you and your Knowdlege So I Suscribed😘💝

What's with the music? :-(
This was an early video, I stopped putting music in my videos several months ago because people said it was distracting. :)
good vid but music too loud. v distracting
Have you ever considered going vegan?
Hey there! I have considered it, and might try soon. We've never tried fully, but we have been consciously reducing our meat consumption over the last year or so.
💐😊
even your jingle is minimal lol
I try to keep to the theme. :)
Nice to hear that your wife has less to do with your laundry 😂
