A quick and basic video-thought I'd better cover this briefly since I'm always mentioning "sterilize at 15psi" in my videos but not with detail. I have some better content lined up for subscribers coming soon.
Love your videos mate! Thank you…. I have a basic pressure cooker and I don’t have the rack. Would it be ok to cover the jars in foil and rest the jars on the bottom? Is there a key thing to know when sterilising. I don’t want to get it wrong. But I have such a basic pressure cooker!
@DeadMartyr84 Got mine on ebay from a user called "moderntrendy" however the shops shut down now, ive just looked for it. Prices have took quite a leap on ebay too unfortunately. Amazon have 25L - 13PSI models like this and you could add 30 minutes to the sterilisation times which should work. Also buying a 15 psi regulator weight and using it would work too. amzn.to/493TKhj

You seem to have made a video for every single thing I need it for! Just bought a Presto this week and here we are! Keep up the great work :)
keep them coming very informative and to the point 🤙
good information but what about the other pressure cooker the electronic one? as i assume that one works as well for sterilising jars. Thank you.
For grains, i do 3 hours on High setting. Find my millet video i use it in there. I'll do some more videos using that soon👍🏻
hey mate, do you partially open the jars when pressure cooking? cheers
No I dont as long as there is a hole in the lid. For plastics containers I do though as it stops warping.
@@ezmushroom cheers :D

No the foil will likely scorch if you place on the bottom. You can put a wet cotton dish towel or spare jar lids on the bottom instead?
Alright but foil on the top.of the jars ?
Yes put foil over the top it stops moistuer leaking into jars and keeps the filter dry
Do you screw the lids on tight or screw them so air. An pass through? I will have one hole with microporous tape over it.
Glass Jars - screw on tight (metal or polypropylene lids)
Plastic containers (such as for agar) leave loose or you risk warping then
23qt Presto pressure cookers have gone up a lot recently and are not available in the UK for the same price as a smaller one!
I am really enjoying your videos though, it's nice to see someone UK based making mushroom growing videos!
I actually imported mine from USA for like £200+ but it was still worth it :D
Are you able to share which company you imported it from? I'm struggling to find a legitimate company that will import to the UK. Thanks@@ezmushroom

I'm making do with a 6l Prestige hi-dome atm. They reach 15psi and you can pick them up for cheap second hand. Fits 2x 1l Mason type jars.
Thank u for this! ❤
