All members of my family, even friends, hate his voice when he sings loud, while I think it's the most awesome man voice I've ever heard. Sadly, it surely takes too much energy singing this way and I understand he couldn't go on making similar albums like "Naveed". I still have "Naveed" and it's still my favorite from OLP. Each of their albums seem to appeal to a different kind of youth, even if the kinds are all of the same age (which is special). + They still make good songs sometimes :-).
I guess it's delayed voices problems due to Raine Maida's hardcore singing (if you hear the album "Naveed" from 1994, you'll understand). And yes, that specific part of the video looks completely like he's too much turned on by the female interviewer. But of course if you use a bit of your brain while watching, you'll figure that this ain't the reason at all.
Yeah they are great, OLP. BTW, near the end of the interview, Raine Maida (the singer) looks like he's out of breath. Voices problems due to his hardcore singing, I guess "delayed" whicc is strange to see. :-).
90s Much Music in the days before social media & iPhones in TO, best days of my life !!!!!
That's why I love this set of guys
This cements my theory that Raine was influenced vocally by the Alanis Morissette "sound"
Raine has aged like a fine wine. He looks pretty much the same now, in 2019, as he did then.
certainly doesn't sound like it
great Interview !
I'm proud to say I grew up with them....
Though, as with my parents, I left them when I turned 19.
I'd take these guys over the new "mature" OLP any day.
The new OLP sucks, but old OLP is best
@@MathieuLLF Totally agree. The cutoff point for me was after Spiritual Machines, though a handful of songs after that, plus Curve, are also great.
@@mmjahinkI just now ben getting into them, Ireally like the first two records clumsy and naveed, still not use to the other records yet.
Bob Rock destroyed them, like he did Metallica
What the hell did Raine do in between questions that he's breathing like he ran a 5k at 1:25? ha.
It was a bit jarring alright haha. I'm guessing they performed in between but they cut out the performance
snorting coke in the green room 😂
I'll take any and all versions of OLP...They WERE great & STILL are great!
i love how he just sippin sum lean

Who's the host again?

Raine Maida's Favorite Vocalist Are All Female Lol
That’s the original bassist if I’m not mistaken chris earcett.
yeah! He was great, you could really hear his baseline live too
@@fiat_hater7761 yeah
What's the song playing in between the interview? Is it an our lady peace song?
Out of Here, OLP demo from before Naveed.
So weird to see someone on bass who isn't Duncan Coutts
Chris really left his mark on Naveed. Duncan just fades into the background.
Duncan Coutts gets major points for loyalty. Guy is still rocking,
Chris was the backbone of Naveed, that's why their sound became different after he left
@nastynate6912 I figured, but it's fun to point out since it seems random.
LOL

No, that was the start of the interview immediately after performing.
Pity Chris left the band ....
