  • Chris heads out for his first session of the 2018 season on the rivers. Having been to a wedding in Hampshire the obvious choice was a visit to the famous Throop fishery in Bournemouth.
He goes fishing for chub on Beat 2 using pellets and gets the season off to a good start with some cracking fish. There are also some highlights and stories to tell along the way!

Clive Welch thanks. I’ve tried a few sessions for barbel so far but not much luck. It’s very warm at the moment and we desperately need some rain! Hope your own fishing is going well at the moment!

The chub can get full up on pellets, & wouldn't feed any halibut pellets, just a thought

Great video chris. Is it a day ticket stretch of the river. And do you need to book through a shop.

Great upload. May I ask what type of rod you advising for roaming?

Sorry for the late reply. I was using a Korum Neoteric for most my river roving, now got some vintage glass tip Wilson rods.

Touch ledger and you'll hook into more chub. Good video.

Nice vid Chris, out-whited by a chub, what a poor effort you are obviously carrying too much tackle and not enough of the 100's of alternative baits that would tempt them, i'm off after em now, hang on can't lift my bait bag!!!

I hate it when people use artificial baits.. I really don’t see the point.. go get ya self a few fat slugs or worms they work better then any pellet/boiley.. carp love worms aswell..

AVERAGE JOE the throop chub do love pellets but you are right a lob worm takes some beating. I’m just too lazy to go get some :/ . Thanks for watching and commenting :)
