@@meta527II Tbh, Cha Cha Slide is my least favorite hit song ever, and that's going up against some stiff competition. It feels like they're not even trying to hide the whole brainwash-the-masses thing. I wouldn't say it's the worst I've heard in terms of production quality, though. That point about Sticker Star actually ends up being more hypocritical when you remember Chapter 3, what with the game show Snifits and, as I've mentioned previously, Wiggler/Flutter. Then again, many of the haters likely haven't even gotten that far into the game to know about them. As of last year, I have played through TTYD three times in my life. The last one was mainly to see how well it holds up in light of SS and having to point out those hypocrisies. During that time, I found that I did not care for Chapter 6 in that repeat playthrough. It was less of "Hey, this is a really interesting subplot" and more "Sweet Lord Amber, who the heck do I have to talk to make the conductor give me that freaking autograph!?". Still my favorite Paper Mario and GameCube game, though. Yes, I too watch Josh. *;)* Fun fact: when I first set up my channel, my original plan was to make countdowns of my own, being one of many to be inspired by him and Alex. Yayy.. I love Sticker Star.... because it’s my first Paper Mario game, Gooper Blooper, good design, paper physics, and the snow ride with polite shy guys (Mario’s rude, not the enemies). Edit: Don’t forget slots which can allow you to attack for up to five times in a single turn.
I'm excited to see you do Super Paper Mario. Personally, I loved it. I know people hate it because it isn't an RPG, but loved its story, which I think is the best in the entire Paper Mario series.
I think super paper Mario is a two sided coin, on one side there is the extremely linear nature and no turn based combat and on the other there is great story telling and tons of exploration

For the guys trying to present themselves as the major enemies (at first), the X-Nauts aren't very active throughout the story. This is "An alarming number of Dusks" all over again...
You know what would have been cool when the screen faded to black after grodus deleted TEC? It would’ve been cool if there were 2 text boxes the black screen. One for grodus saying “we’re leaving.”, and another one after that for peach saying “no! Let me go!”
These "sin points" should not be understood as being faults, failures or flaws. For example, Beldam's character adds to the diversity of characters in the game. It's interesting to think of her as the evil mastermind and a bully. The player helps Vivian to fight the bully after all. In many cases, the filmmaker's reactions show the intended game's writing or design work out. The "sin points" mix too many incompatible or even subjective criteria to be a meaningful metric after all. The inconsistency devoids them of actual meaning. So the question is, why count them in the first place? It would be more effective to separate criteria such as logic flaws or inconsistencies, subjective disliking and bad content or bad jokes. Some of these flagged points make sense though in a second thought. The inclusion of sad, negative, annoying or even crude themes is what makes the game better overall than a conventional game. But I appreciate the video for showing the game's key moments and important design aspects in a "short" video. Some of the points are not actually "cliches" but rather "tropes". By the way, providing subtitles to the audience makes your video very accessible. But at normal speed, it's sometimes too fast for me to follow.
How does Goombella's book contain information about enemies like the final boss, the boss at the end of the 100 trials, e.t.c Goombario just knew this stuff, he didn't need to look it up in a book
Vivian is my favorite partner, so when those Beldam scenes happen, I cringe and get angry more than a moderate amount of people who have played this game.
Jolene's prohibition to enter the storage room is probably intended to make Mario and team curious (and to hide her link with the secret X). I believe Crump's talk to the people "in front of the TV" is even breaking the 5th wall. Paper Mario is still a storybook or a show after all, y'know? Ah, yes, I was in grief when I thought, I have to give all my money to that bomb because I had 999 coins at that time. The biggest issue I have is the story of releasing the shadow queen just to defeat her. It doesn't make sense to me why they opened the door at all after knowing about the demon. How would they go on a treasure hunt anyway when the princess is missing?? I actually don't get how Grodius together with Peach and the Shadow Trio got into the palace and passed by Mario and the team and why Grodius waited to fight Mario when he could just so easily release the Shadow queen without any effort. Nothing of this part of the story was even flagged with a sin point.
If I had to guess, the reason why Bonetail can’t talk is probably because she’s a giant skeleton who doesn’t have a mouth, tongue, lips or vocal chords. Also, Bowser did accidentally save Mario from Grodus in the Shadow Palace, so saying that he was pointless to the story is kind of a stretch.
89 sins were removed over the course of the video, meaning the “sin-vs-win” counter is 367 to 89, so roughly 20% of the points were for wins! That’s the kind of back-and-forth I wish EWW-style videos would have more often! (Just about all the others I’ve seen have hundreds of sins to MAYBE 1 dozen wins, including valeforXD’s “Everything Right And Wrong With” videos; I wish they’d focus a little more on the strong points in what they’re criticizing, and THIS video seems to strike a nice balance despite ostensibly focusing on the negatives!)
Let's see here our first partner is a goomba who can "tattle" enemies and can tell me about the overworld, a koopa that can be used to kick out of reach blocks, a partner that's a baby, a partner that can make us fly, and one that I can ride, a chapter inside a mansion where you recruit a ghostly girl who can hide you, the 3rd chapter boss is a spike type enemy, peach is captured high in the sky, the semi-final area is covered in snow, a partner whos purple and can slam her body on enemies, 7 star shaped things to collect, a partner thats a bomb, a partner with an attack that literally slaps enemies, a chapter on a tropical island, castle, and the final boss has 2 phases. Huh, sounds familiar
I've been recently playing this game, and this is great timing. Can't wait for the other Mario RPGs everything wrong with. Especially BIS DX, I await with much patience.

If starlow can give peach telekinesis (Shown when they rudely threw bowser out of the conference room), why didn’t she do that when alpha kretin came in? If fawful could brainwash bowsers minions, he should’ve done the same for the rest of the mushroom kingdom. Fawful also just has the peach castle stand there after it crushes bowser rather than have it cause chaos around the kingdom. **Why didn’t they kill the dark star while it was asleep?** And why didn’t fawful kill bowser instead of throw him in Cavi cape, same with midbus, he could’ve killed bowser since he was weakened but instead let him power up. *Why did antagonize bowser the moment he shows up in the beginning and then throw him out of the conference room? He probably could’ve actually been useful.*

That point about Sticker Star actually ends up being more hypocritical when you remember Chapter 3, what with the game show Snifits and, as I've mentioned previously, Wiggler/Flutter. Then again, many of the haters likely haven't even gotten that far into the game to know about them.
As of last year, I have played through TTYD three times in my life. The last one was mainly to see how well it holds up in light of SS and having to point out those hypocrisies. During that time, I found that I did not care for Chapter 6 in that repeat playthrough. It was less of "Hey, this is a really interesting subplot" and more "Sweet Lord Amber, who the heck do I have to talk to make the conductor give me that freaking autograph!?". Still my favorite Paper Mario and GameCube game, though.

I'm excited to see you do Super Paper Mario. Personally, I loved it. I know people hate it because it isn't an RPG, but loved its story, which I think is the best in the entire Paper Mario series.
I think super paper Mario is a two sided coin, on one side there is the extremely linear nature and no turn based combat and on the other there is great story telling and tons of exploration

For the guys trying to present themselves as the major enemies (at first), the X-Nauts aren't very active throughout the story. This is "An alarming number of Dusks" all over again...
You know what would have been cool when the screen faded to black after grodus deleted TEC? It would’ve been cool if there were 2 text boxes the black screen. One for grodus saying “we’re leaving.”, and another one after that for peach saying “no! Let me go!”
These "sin points" should not be understood as being faults, failures or flaws. For example, Beldam's character adds to the diversity of characters in the game. It's interesting to think of her as the evil mastermind and a bully. The player helps Vivian to fight the bully after all. In many cases, the filmmaker's reactions show the intended game's writing or design work out.
The "sin points" mix too many incompatible or even subjective criteria to be a meaningful metric after all. The inconsistency devoids them of actual meaning. So the question is, why count them in the first place? It would be more effective to separate criteria such as logic flaws or inconsistencies, subjective disliking and bad content or bad jokes. Some of these flagged points make sense though in a second thought. The inclusion of sad, negative, annoying or even crude themes is what makes the game better overall than a conventional game. But I appreciate the video for showing the game's key moments and important design aspects in a "short" video.
Some of the points are not actually "cliches" but rather "tropes".
By the way, providing subtitles to the audience makes your video very accessible. But at normal speed, it's sometimes too fast for me to follow.

Vivian is my favorite partner, so when those Beldam scenes happen, I cringe and get angry more than a moderate amount of people who have played this game.

The biggest issue I have is the story of releasing the shadow queen just to defeat her. It doesn't make sense to me why they opened the door at all after knowing about the demon. How would they go on a treasure hunt anyway when the princess is missing?? I actually don't get how Grodius together with Peach and the Shadow Trio got into the palace and passed by Mario and the team and why Grodius waited to fight Mario when he could just so easily release the Shadow queen without any effort. Nothing of this part of the story was even flagged with a sin point.

If I had to guess, the reason why Bonetail can’t talk is probably because she’s a giant skeleton who doesn’t have a mouth, tongue, lips or vocal chords.
Also, Bowser did accidentally save Mario from Grodus in the Shadow Palace, so saying that he was pointless to the story is kind of a stretch.
89 sins were removed over the course of the video, meaning the “sin-vs-win” counter is 367 to 89, so roughly 20% of the points were for wins! That’s the kind of back-and-forth I wish EWW-style videos would have more often!
(Just about all the others I’ve seen have hundreds of sins to MAYBE 1 dozen wins, including valeforXD’s “Everything Right And Wrong With” videos; I wish they’d focus a little more on the strong points in what they’re criticizing, and THIS video seems to strike a nice balance despite ostensibly focusing on the negatives!)

how did the safe bowser was stuck get into peach's castle when there was no way in at all. How come only peach can awaken the dark star. If starlow can give peach telekinesis (Shown when they rudely threw bowser out of the conference room), why didn’t she do that when alpha kretin came in? If fawful could brainwash bowsers minions, he should’ve done the same for the rest of the mushroom kingdom. Fawful also just has the peach castle stand there after it crushes bowser rather than have it cause chaos around the kingdom. **Why didn’t they kill the dark star while it was asleep?** And why didn’t fawful kill bowser instead of throw him in Cavi cape, same with midbus, he could’ve killed bowser since he was weakened but instead let him power up. *Why did antagonize bowser the moment he shows up in the beginning and then throw him out of the conference room? He probably could’ve actually been useful.*

Yes the true ending of Super Princess Peach actually implies that she still has her Vibe Powers so how about a sequel showing that she has did some decent combat training along with learning how to use her Vibe Powers in offensive manners, and environmental manipulation manners so it's would be nigh-impossible for Bowser to kidnap her, or harder for Bowser to kidnap her, and oh yeah make Daisy and Rosalina playable as well. Or at the least give us a proper HD remake/remaster of Super Princess Peach. Yes a good chunk of us Mario fans actually enjoy playing a game where Peach can actually take care of herself, and defend herself.
