I’m excited for all three characters, but I’m most excited for Wiggler. He’s such an oddball pick and I loved playing as him in 7. Can’t wait to get to play as him again.
I think these are the best choices. I was really worried Wiggler wouldn’t make it in. I originally predicted Chuck instead of Kamek for the Tour Character. I wasn’t worried about Petey because he’s so popular. I want Diddy and Pauline for the next wave
Dixie will most likely be in the next main Mario kart game with this game setting a new standard for the amount of characters and courses. If they picked Dixie over funky people would riot

God, it gets incredibly annoying when people say Funky should get in over Diddy because of Funky’s popularity in Wii and people not wanting a 3rd DD rep…like who cares, Double Dash had introduced the most amount of characters prior to 8 & even Tour, all of them becoming huge legacy characters for the spin-off games minus Paratroopa, and Diddy’s iconic status as DK’s player 2 holds precedent whereas Funky was a side character no one really cared about until Mario Kart Wii happened
Wiggler definitely through off a lot of people's predictions, I originally though we'd get Birdo, Petey, Kamek, Diddy, Funky & Pauline but now it seems like one of the remaining 3 won't make the cut *and unfortunately it may be Funky :(*
I’m gonna guess diddy Kong won’t make it. Nintendo knows how badly ppl want funky Kong in the game and they’ve been having Pauline be in a lot Mario games since odyssey.
I'm fine if Pauline doesn't make it. She's been getting the Rosalina treatment and her design isn't as good as rosalina's. TBH I wouldn't be excited about Diddy Kong either but he has so much MK8 merch and has been in so many games already. Just make the last two monkeys and give us DK mountain and wii rainbow road

Funky over Diddy, for Wii representation? Yeah- it pains me to disagree with that. There's quite lot of content from Wii that is in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. We have 4 characters (Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Rosalina, and Dry Bowser) We have 9 courses- so far (Moo Moo Meadows, Grumble Volcano, Wario's Gold Mine, Coconut Mall, Mushroom Gorge, Maple Treeway, DK Summit, Moonview Highway, Koopa Cape). If Wave 6 gives us a new column of characters, maybe we will get Funky Kong. Looking at the remianing 2 character slots, however... the chances stand tall for Pauline and Diddy Kong.
To be honest, I don’t want any more Tour characters. We already have two DD characters (+ the inevitable Diddy Kong) which makes having two tour characters feel a bit much, especially in a series of DLC already so heavily centric around Tour tracks. Kamek works perfectly as a Tour rep since he also fits the lost/cut characters theme going on. Plus I think Pauline would be more fitting for the next game.
If Wiggler didn't make it in, King Bob-Omb would've been my guess for that spot. I was banking on Petey, Kamek, Diddy, and Pauline, but was not sure who the last character would be. King Bob-Omb or Nabbit were my choices. But Wiggler is super cool as well. I might've guessed Wiggler if I was aware he'd even be on the table. He wasn't in Mario Kart Tour yet, so it didn't seem likely.
@@DaNintendude I would also love Nabbit, but I dont think they really care about Nabbit anymore, he has no relevance really and was such a minor character that hasnt really appeared in much since the wii u/3ds era (outside of tour i guess but what character isnt in tour at this point). King bob-omb has a higher shot than Nabbit imo but still i think its low even then. Maybe for mk9?
My thought is that ROB may return along with Diddy Diddy is an obvious choice The last row on the roster is Non-Mario characters so it would make sense However it is sort of a downside when it comes to ROB and the vehicles I doubt Pauline will make it because they have to add another biker outfit And ROB would be hard with the vehicles So i am gonna have to give it to Diddy and Funky

He will be added for a battle mode dlc with his Funky Stadium map (which im shocked no one talks abt) The last 2 spots for the wave 6 are pauline and diddy, he can only be added when mario tanooki and cat peach become alts for peach and mario, then when that happens he can be added (Prob happening in wave 6 so we get 4 new characters, being them: Pauline, Diddy, Funky, and an other character, which could be Nabbid, King bob omb, Peachette, honey queen, hammer bro or chargin chuck, the ones i didnt mention arent so likely
That’d make me super happy. They’d need to show up in Tour first though in order to make them “returning” characters though. But given the Mario RPG remake coming it is quite possible for that to happen.

Funky had his turn already in the series I really wish we had Diddy already so Dixie could be the next playable Kong like in Mario Hoops 3-on-3.
