The only reason why he has all the money and fame is because he mooches on seniors name and when Dale Sr was killed all his fans went to his son Jr including myself but man were we stupid because jr is a mooch and a sellout. To leave his father's company and go to one of seniors rivals was a travesty and his old man must have been rolling in his grave when he did that. Dale Sr's footprint remains strong on NASCAR to this day, I wish a merchandise hauler exclusively for him still came to the track but you can still pick up things from RCR with his namesake on it...
I wish I had never gotten rid of my most valuable Earnhardt collectables. Those things you can't buy brand new anymore. But at the time everyone was willing to pay big money, the kind of money I wouldn't get today

It was tempting but thank goodness I resisted.

For me Sr. was Nascar. Petty was nearing retirement and Sr. came along and just took over. No one better. Jeff Gordon came along later. But Sr. was just the man. Period. The stands would just erupt when his car came out of the garage onto the track. To this day his merch sells like crazy. RIP Imtimidator.

This is by far THE BEST video I have ever watched on RUclips. Jr. is the real deal, the hunger for the history of the sport that he grew up in is beyond anything I’ve ever seen someone dive into a subject before. I’m not the biggest NASCAR watcher, especially with how much it’s changed over the decades, but listening to Dale Jr. talk about “daddy” and all of the knowledge he shares is a huge draw for me. I miss the days, when the guy/team that won the most races by the end of the year got the big check and trophy. I also miss the “stock” appearance of the cars. I’ve driven a Richard Petty Experience car around Daytona, and spun a few laps with them at the Disney track before they turned that into a parking lot. I earned a ton of respect for the physical endurance it takes to be able to drive a car like that, in traffic, at 190 mph, for 500 miles. I ride and race dirt bikes off-road and thought that took concentration, and endurance. I think I held my breath for 8 laps around Daytona, I remember taking the biggest inhale of my life as I slipped onto the pit lane road lol. I miss Jr. in the car, but enjoy listening to his commentary during the races. I think it’s because of his depth of knowledge of the sport. I just wish they would listen to him, and his ideas, it’d bring a lot of old fans back to the sport.
Awesome video love how both Richard and Dale Jr. stayed connected and won Busch races together in the 3 especially at Daytona. That 2010 July race they won together with the throwback Wrangler paint scheme is one of the best tributes to Dale Sr. ever.
Dale will never die in the heart of his diehard fans... my dad was also his biggest fan... he passed in November 96 so he never got to see day win Daytona, I'm sure they are the best friends now...Dale you'll always be our hero!!!

I feel like Richard was the business man Dale wanted to be but couldnt because of his education, life, and he was a driver... and Dale was the wheel man Richard lived through vicariously because he never could. Together they pieced their puzzles.
Dale, at times, had marginal equipment and won races and championships. Jr always had top notch equipment, well we know how that went. Not that there will ever be another Dale, I just don't get the popularity of Jr.
