Great tutorials! Any chance that SoundPaint is going to add an undo button? Like step back. I was working on a setup, just yesterday and (remember I am still learning) clicked on another preset on the left and what I had been working on was completely gone, with a different preset loaded. That was painful. LOL
Yeah! We are talking about how to do it. We actually had UNDO in our early BETA, so its more just a matter of figuring out how it works in a DAW environment. Since the DAW reads Undo a bit different than the engine itself. Its gonna happen - we just need to work out the kinks. Great suggestion!
I'm new to soundpaint and I've been having a blast checking out some of the free patches before I choose what banks I'm going to purchase.... but one thing I'd love to see on the arp is a lock function for the preset. Create or load an arp, hit a lock button so that when I'm cycling through the vast amounts of presets looking for inspiration I can do this whilst the arp is running and without the need to hit load preset everytime 🙏🏻
Soundpaint is truly excellent. So much so that I no longer use a certain German behemoth which is really too much of a gas factory. In addition, soundpaint is free and the additional libraries are affordable unlike that of the aforementioned monster (not counting the price of the monster itself which is far from free if you want to be able to take advantage of any bank) . I just hope you never become like that. Regarding the sequencer, it would be really cool if we could use a "ratcheting" function to play certain notes in 1/32 among a sequence in 1/8 for example.
Oh man, this is very humbling to hear. We do owe the bespoken behemoth a great deal of gratitude since they opened up a whole new market, and in some ways, this market gave us the opportunity to develop Soundpaint, too. I always saw them co-exist, peacefully, side by side. Obviously, SP was developed over 20 years later, so we've learned to approach usability, modularity, playability, and speed differently. But SP is also personal to us. We are developing it as an engine to ourselves. Trying to undo the things we didn't enjoy so much of past technologies and create something really dialed in towards composers and producers. I love your idea with the Arp. Duly noted and its gonna get a pretty big revamp towards the later part of the year. Thanks again for your kind thoughts - means a lot for us to get feedback like this. Cheers, Troels
