    Got these in black and iron. They're the best. Light, comfortable, not a ton of TLD branding, great pockets and they look cool. Plus they're reasonably priced (for now)! I'm 5'7 155 lbs and wear a size medium. I had them shortened about an 2 inches, but I prefer them to fall slightly above my ankle. Oh, and the fit is perfect. Go over my knee pads and aren't too tight. I have a muscular build, and especially when it's warmer out they're perfect (I prefer wearing pants when it's not *TOO* hot). And I actually like the velcro adjustments, but I'm a 32 waist so might not be for everyone.

      Sick! They really are some great pants and the iron color looks awesome! I would probably choose them as my second color choice after the black ones (might pick up a second pair with the price they are now 😅). I really appreciate your comment, it's nice having more input on these pants, it'll help others to make their decision! 👍And thanks for watching! 😃🤙

      @@NickandKatieMTB plus they're suprisingly durable. I had quite a few crashes this season ... Mountain Creek, Killington, Windham and Snowshoe, so not many smooth landings! Not a single tear.
      BTW check out TLD's "Drift" jerseys. I usually prefer just a t-shirt, but if I know I'm gonna be doing a lotta tech or big drops, I'll throw on my Fox Baseframe Pro (also highly recommended) and wear a jersey over it. The Drift shirts are paper light, dry instantly and are very durable. They're on sale now and usually discounted somewhere on Amazon, but it's really like no other fabric I've felt before.

      @@topspot4834 That’s great! I got a tiny tear in mine from brushing against a rock wall but it hasn’t gotten any worse over time so that’s good at least! And nice man I’ll have to look into the Drift jerseys. Katie has a super nice TLD long sleeve. They just make some really good looking and high quality stuff. Took me awhile to catch onto their stuff but now I am a pretty big fan.

    Outstanding looking pants and quite a deal right now! I would buy some myself, but I tend to get too hot wearing pants while riding. I don't usually wear pants unless it is below 32F. When above that I'm usually ok with MTB shorts, knee pads and some long socks.

    • @NickandKatieMTB
      @NickandKatieMTB  Год назад +2

      They really are! Some riders wear pants 90% of the time and others wear shorts 90% of the time! 😄 I'm a pants wearer 90% of the time, even in normal life I will wear pants until it's 90 degrees out. 😂 Shorts are suuuuuper nice when dealing with pads though!

      @@NickandKatieMTB same, I've got enough cuts and bruises on my legs, if it's tolerable I'll go pants everytime ... That's what makes these so good though. I'm hoping the iron is a little less hot than the black. And it's not riding that's hot, it's when you're on the lift. I don't remember if you've been to Thunder or Bryce, but they got those painfully slow lifts, all black, zero shade at any point, and you're roasting. You actually need a longer break getting off the lift than getting to the bottom.

    Just picked up a pair of these and having the same issue with the waist. I normally wear a 32 and they fit great everywhere except the waist. Velcro is pulled as far as it will go but they keep sliding down as I am riding. Going to return them. I'm afraid to go a size down as they might be too tight elsewhere.

    4:47 maybe you can fold the strap and sew it to itself?
    5:29 yea maybe you can cut the elastic band, maybe the part you hold?
    I have similar issue with Endura singletrack 2 trousers, I wear Large for 82cm inseam, but waist is super baggy, like made for super wide waist, I fit 4 fingers with the straps maxed, so need to wear a belt, but good they have belt loops. they have too baggy knees, but rest is great. But I am looking for something better. so far not found anything that will fit the bill.
    But a thing I like about them is they have the stronger material covering most of the ankle area, most trousers have just a narrow strip at the inside, but they actually do the opposite.

    • @NickandKatieMTB
      @NickandKatieMTB  Год назад +1

      Those are good ideas! I did buy some velcro to try to fix them but haven't gotten around to it yet! They haven't been bothering me too much lately since I wear my fanny pack around my waist and that for some reason kind of holds them up. Too bad these don't have belt loops!

    Great review. What's your inseam measurement? Mine is 82cm, excluding my privates of course. According to their size chart, size 30 & 32 with 82.5 inseam, so that sounds promising, Troy Lee mgiht be an option for me. They did not seem too baggy at the knees or anywhere else, unlike Endura Singletrack 2. So if the size chart is right, you could possibly size down maybe that would eliminate the Velcro strap issue.
    You did a great way of showcasing them, nut you should have shown phone in pocket and how it is while riding.
    2:17 Did you wear them lower to show the stretch? this looks wrong, seems like you were sagging trousers should have long enough inseam for the cratch area to be up in there for maximum mobility.
    At 2:23 I see it looked normal. So I guess you just did this to showcase the stretch.

    • @NickandKatieMTB
      @NickandKatieMTB  Год назад +1

      Thank you! I just measured and I think my inseam is 68cm. I think if I bought them again I would most certainly size down! And yeah not sure, I was just wearing them however they felt most natural and comfortable.

    Sorry if this has been mentioned in the video but how would you compare them to fox flexair pants? I used to wear tld stuff until I had enough of discolouration and other quality issues (keep in mind this was in 2016, they could have upped their game) and went for fox stuff.
    I’d be interested to hear your take on the newer stuff, might move back to tld as fox has imo went too far with the slimfit cut, I look like a bulldog standing on his rear feet when wearing fox pants…

    • @NickandKatieMTB
      @NickandKatieMTB  8 месяцев назад

      I've never tried the Flexair pants, but based on what I've seen online and in person it does seem like the Fox pants are a slimmer fit in general compare to the TLDs. I love the quality on these. They're still holding up after more than a year of riding. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
