You can change the mod settings (width and speed) by opening up the pedal. Instructions are in the manual.

Carbon Copy always sounds so lush. The other guitar player at my church used to have one, but I never did because I'm a sucker for needing a tap tempo. It's definitely one worth keeping around.
Just get the Deluxe version. Totally worth it
I used to have this also. But I used mainly for ambient swells. To fill in the space with the mod switch on high feedback 👌🏻

Yo man, I know you said there is no way to mess with the modulation of the pedal……but you can…..open the back plate and there are two knobs that control the speed and width of the modulation.
MXR is using the word Regen as a shortened version of the word Regenerate. Cool Demo. It would be even better if you showed the pedal after you made each setting change.

You have to try this cc delay at 18v and play with regen and delay knobs from 0 to 100
I'll have to give that a try!
I keep mine on my board with the mix low and just think of it as creating space. The slower the delay the bigger the room I'm trying to emulate, or quick for small room slap back. So I don't care if it's in time with the music

Yeah, they are my favorite straps! I’m lucky to own a few of them.
First thing I did when I got one was adjust the modulation. Just open the back plate and adjust the knobs.
Found out about that after making the video 🤦🏻♂️. That’s what I get for tossing instructions!
Trust me... Carbon Copy Deluxe does “the thing” but has tap tempo. You can ALSO slave multiple delays to a single external tap and then turn the “tap” button on the pedal into a toggle between 2 “presets”. I have one on bright dotted 8th with mod, one on regular 1/4 no mod. It got me to finally sell my beloved Standard CC which was the second pedal I ever bought.

@@JCruzProject you and I have have similar ambient tastes apparently because I got a DD5 based on your video and I love it. It had one output go bad and I ended up getting a DD200 which is like every boss compact delay in 1. Still love that DD5 though... gotta fix it. Cheers brother!

I’m going to try out the subtle setting you demonstrated at 8:38-very curious how that will sound! This really is a “sleeper” pedal on my board, as it’s essentially a backup to my Greer Black Tiger, which is a similar but brighter sounding oil can/analog unit. For longer delays I use a OBNE Black Fountain, which is pretty versatile. My incredible Pladask Elektrisk Fabrikat also has some quirky delay settings mixed in among its infinite settings, so yeah, there are times when I have three delays going on at once.

(maybe due to the nature of my instrument), placing it somewhere around 9 or 10 o’clock. You can hear it on my latest YT video, “Revisiting the CR5.”

Question: when you say 3o’clock / 11 o’ clock for the settings, are you sure that’s what you meant? Doesn’t Setting the knob at 3 0’clock mean you’d be setting it 3/4 of the way up? Maybe I’m missing something.
Hey Danny! Hopefully I didn't get it wrong, lol. For the "DELAY", yes. As that is not the mix knob, that is the tempo. So "3 o'clock" is a tempo setting for that particular knob. Hope this helps!
I know some, if not all of them have 2 trim pots in the back that ccontrol the modulation

NICE! And I get this question often. However, the version I have no longer exists. Company was called ESO.
I always found the carbon copy to be too warm and too muffled for my tastes. but that’s not really what it’s for. I have a Joyo Aquarius for digital delay and other sounds like tape and reverse.
Yeah, the warmth is a bit a part of it’s charm at this point. And yes, the Aquarius is a great pedal!
Question…what’s your thoughts on the carbon copy deluxe. I’m in the process of building a small board for amp only.

You can’t really go wrong. However, I personally favor a delay with a little bit more clarity. I love the Carbon Copy for underline ambiance. But, I never really used it as a main delay.

Hey, i have a problem that when i pres the mod mode my guitar sounds out of tune.
