    I've been searching for the right throttle assembly for my CB100 cafe build. I finally found a nice integrated throttle/control switch assembly. The throttle cam is actually housed inside the kill switch/light switch assembly. Very trick little piece.
    EXCELLENT video BTW. Thanks 👍.

    Did not know what stroke lengths or pull ratios were. Thank-you for searching for quality products and making them available!

    Hi
    I must say you guys always have great and relative content.
    I purchased a set of lectron carbs which came with a splitter , and what I believe you call a straight pull throttle and not what you would call a good looking piece.
    Problem is the straight pull is 7/8” fit, where my handle bars and everything I have for these bars is all 1” fit.
    I have a couple of your single pull throttles I got from you for another build in a 1” and a double pull in a 1”. Any suggestions?
    I also wanted to add that the cable is super light which is why I’m sure they send a straight pull with the carb set and not something else.
    Just thinking ahead for some input once I have the motor back in the bike.

    Newbie question: Can I, by simply changing a cam wheel, reduce the responsiveness of the throttle, so that even a hard twist will be the equivalent to a slight twist with the standard cam wheel? If so, this sounds like a great way to make a powerful bike more easy for a beginner to ride. Am I getting this right? Thanks!

    I ride a 72 triumph tiger 650 and personally I like the push pull, as the old Amal's like to gall witch can cause the throttle to stick wide open, maybe just my experience but, not fun. had to send carb off to get it bored and re sleeved ,question, what was the last throttle called again, I cant quite make it out. I am building a 71 Bonneville chop, and looking for a semi fast response throttle as I fell off a roof a few years ago and shattered both wrists, leaving me with limited wrist motion, have to reset hand on throttle many times to get close to full throttle. thank you for taking the time to put these vidios out, have been watching all of them and catching up as I can. have found them to be very informative and helpful. definatly looking at getting the M blue for my build , among other things, from you all.

      The throttle in question doesn't have much of a specific name and even the manufacturer just calls it the dual pull racing throttle. And as far as I know this is the fastest rate dual pull throttle out there. revivalcycles.com/products/domino-dual-throttle-pull Hopefully that can help with your limited wrist mobility.

    Great video, I’ve always wondered about throttles. Just curious if the diameters and descriptions for the MX2 on your site were a bit mixed up.

      I would think the smaller Dia of 25mm would be the gentle approach instead of the 36.

      The way the XM2 cam wheels are setup its not quite as simple as that... the rate of the profiles isn't directly tied to the stroke length, so in the case of this throttle, the white is the fastest rate at 2.6 degree/mm and 36mm stroke, red is medium at 2.7 degree/mm and 25mm stroke, and green is slowest with 2.6 degree/mm and 33mm stroke. Depending on where you get your info domino had published some erroneous numbers, but those have been corrected in the latest catalogs.

    Do you have any plans on adding an internal throttle assembly with a return cable, like the ostfreesenchoppers make

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  4 года назад

      That's something I haven't seen before. If we can get our hands on one and it feels like a good fit, and if they've built their pricing structure to include wholesale it's something we might add. Too bad they don't offer one for 22mm-7/8" as well.

    So, I am rebuilding a BMW R100, I have a cable swich for both carburateurs. Would you recommend the Domino with one exist or with double exist?

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  6 лет назад

      There isn't a right/wrong way to do this, it all comes down to which set of pros / cons you want to deal with. Personally I don't like cable splitters, but that means building custom cables, and then fiddling with carb sync for a while. If your bike is setup with a splitter from the factory and you are good with that routing / setup, then it is much easier to just run a single pull throttle. You still run into some sync issues with any multi carb setup that isn't on a rack, so the only difference is where the adjustment happens, at the carb, at the splitter, or at the throttle.

    Does domino make a push/pull for 1” bars that u recommend?

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  6 лет назад

      1" bars are kind of an American thing, but Domino is primarily a European supplier so unfortunately, they do not make 1" compatible controls. Also, as you probably know there are not a lot of choices for aftermarket push/pull 1" throttles, but you might take a look at builtwell.

    I like the XM2 by domino but I have a single cable throttle. Can I still use this throttle controller or does domino make a single cable controller with the adjustable cams? Also if I can use the XM2, what would I do to the other cable input on the housing if it’s not being utilized?

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  5 лет назад

      Great question. I think this is one of the best aftermarket throttles out there. You can use it as a single pull but you might still need/want to purchase to XM2 cable kit in spite of only needing one of the cables. The elbow is a slip fit rather than threaded and there is a tab included with the cable that holds the elbow in place. You could get adventurous and tap the throttle housing to accept a threaded elbow if you prefer.

    I've a KTM 950 SM. I'm putting an FCR dual carb kit on it. I need to find a throttle control that has adjustments on it. As I no longer have the original KTM cable with the adjusters. Is the MX2 the only one that comes with adjustment possibilities? I like the Mostro and was hoping I could use that.

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  4 года назад

      The XM2 is the only one with adjustible cams and I don't think Domino jsut sells the XM2 throttle tubes. You could just use the pull side of the XM2 and plug the push side.

    Is there a conversion kit to change from single to dual cable ...? Or is this actually possible ... I have an Yamaha XJ 750

    • @RevivalCycles

      We have developed a new 2 into 1 cable kit that will allow you to use any of the single pull throttles we offer for a dual carb set up. We should have the live up on the site in the next week.

    Well I just realized after sending the last post the throttles I have are 7/8” not 1”. Damn! I do have an old 1” throttle but not one I’d reuse.
    Regardless the suggestions would still be appreciated for the previous post.
    Thank you

      If you have a cable splitter then a single pull throttle will work for you just fine, if you do not want to run the cable splitter you will need to use a dual pull throttle.

    • @RevivalCycles

      You might check that your cable isn't bound up somewhere which can have that effect. If you have a push-pull throttle set up you might look into the XM2 throttle which has variable cams that can help tame a twitchy throttle response.

    So can a single pull motorcycle be converted to push/pull?

    • @whiteknightinblack
      @whiteknightinblack 6 лет назад

      hope they can myself

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  6 лет назад +1

      Typically not, but that depends on how the carb is designed. Many single pull bikes have a straight pull carb setup and that means there just isn't a way to force the slide back down with a cable and you have to rely on the spring. If you happen to have a carb that still has a cam wheel on it then in theory you could add a return cable, but this would be very difficult for most DIY shops.
      Generally there is nothing wrong with a single pull setup as long as its setup correctly, with fresh cables, and the correct return springs.

      Yeah, that would be the common sense thing to do and intuitive when you're an experienced rider. Of course manufacturers are being held to safety standards and looking to minimize opportunities for litigation hense, push pull throttles becoming a standard.
