If anyone here doesn't know what Bossa Nova is, it's a Brazilian genre based on samba (another Brazilian genre) that started around the 50's and, as you can hear, is strongly influenced by jazz. It started amongst the middle class as a way of reinventing samba, but it got really popular and, as a result, ended up getting known around the whole country
I'm really picky with English covers, just because not everyone can fit in all of the lyrics and still keep the flow of the song and stuff, y'know? And when I saw this I was a little worried because it's such a high and fast song at some points, but man, I'm glad I clicked this. It's sooooo beautiful and is probably one of my favorite covers of anything ever. Not that any random commenter's approval matters much, but you did a really nice job, and I'm not the kind of person to say that often! Your voice is beautiful and goes so nicely with this arrange. Just... yes. 💖
This cover is the one that made me realize just how perfectly Oktavia's voice flows with the music. It's not rushed, or scratchy, there's not heavy breathing in between every single line; she doesn't sound like she's struggling at all. Not like any of her other covers are like that; it just took me one listen to this one to truly appreciate how smooth Oktavia's voice is. I know I'm two years late to this, but, Oktavia, if you're reading this? Keep doing what you do. You sound like an absolute professional, and everything has turned out great.

Ah I love Bossa nova style stuff! Your voice is wonderful as always. It has a distinct sound to it; I really like it. Especially when you sing lower. Your covers are far better than English covers coming from more popular channels, in my opinion.

Probably not, I think I'll be same as usual. It's unfortunate what has occurred with Hazuki no Yume since they are such a huge pillar to the English speaking community, but luckily I still have a myriad of songs I want to get to that Hazuki no Yume and others have already translated, and Forgetfulsubs is still around even if she doesn't upload as often. What it means for me and likely other English cover artists as well is that we probably won't be getting to more recent releases quickly, since we all owe a lot to Hazuki no Yume for speedy translations the day after a big producer releases a new song.
