Hi Glenn, I am really glad to know that you, little red and the doggos are safe. I thought we had been smashed here in Northland until the power came back on 6 days later and we saw the utter destruction that you guys down there have been through. Our thoughts are with you. Take care.

I lived next to the puketapu church from 1970 to 1980 .. not many people knew the puketapu Bridge as well as me and my brother did .. very sad .. and I've now lived 35 years looking over the Esk Valley .. when I woke up that morning on the 14 of February I was in disbelief at what I was seeing .. sadly there were numerous fatalities there .. thank you for sharing your footage and I wish you all the best with your recovery...

I used to live in Hawkes Bay before I moved to Norway. Watching these videos is both like time travel and heartbreaking. I worked for several businesses in the area doing book keeping and accounting and even did a stint with the regional fire service. I'm amazed at some of the stories of survival that are coming out. They way volunteers are showing up to help just brings tears to my eyes, because I recognise that beautiful, friendly Kiwi Spirit and I miss it so desperately here. I wish you well and I wish you much good will hunting in the near future.

So sad to see what you all are going through. Your footage is amongst the most telling I have seen so far. Heartbreaking when your little slice of paradise isn't so anymore. It's going to take time mate but Kiwis as a breed are pretty resilient and mostly a good bunch in spite of a few ratbags. Wishing you, your whanau and your local communities all the best and thanks for sharing your experiences with the hunting community. Keep sharing your recovery journey with us if you're able. Kia Kaha

I reluctantly gave this video a "thumbs up" Glenn, because it just doesn't seem the right thing to do. It's just hard to believe the scope of the damage. Just can't think of the right words to express my thoughts. Keep smiling mate, as hard as that must be. If you and Emma need to get out of dodge for a sanity break you are welcome to come and spend a few days in the Bay of Islands with us.

I am in Tasman Mate & it,s easy to feel for you. We got beat up last winter here. Given that i,m happy to be rhetorical here - Pines & Forestry slash seem to a common feature in all the footage i am seeing. I would be grateful at some stage to hear ur thoughts on that!
Anyway like Murphy i,m an optimist so this should sort out the North Is unemployment problem. Don,t mind me iv,e just finished a book by Ross Curtis an old school culler from the 1940,s onwards. Back in the day when a 4lb axe was the common tool of most bushmen.
Honestly in todays world I dread to think where the infatuation with Carbon Credits is going to take us! Like I said mate, thinking of you & yours. Keep ur powder dry!

Thanks for your citizen reporting on the cyclone aftermath that laid waste to the land. In the long run it’s a healing event that thankfully doesn’t occur too often. Hang in there as the rescue Calvary will eventually come and restore the basic services you’d come to expect. Born and raised on Guam so these events are commonplace and the communities have hardened to prepare for these type of events.

all my arohanui goes out to ya'll. I was thinking today that at least in 2010/2011 we had the opportunity to rescue some of our things and salvage timber and furniture that wasn't damaged in the earthquakes. There is no hope of that for this, everything touched by floodwaters will have been contaminated or damage by water. I am so sorry. This is a mammoth recovery and will be a much longer one. i would recommend getting away as often as you can and remembering it is a marathon not a race and to ask for help where you can because your mental health will undoubtedly take a hit along the line. Do you have a givealittle or something for us peeps to contribute? Kia kaha, e hoa x

Massive respect for you all. You guys are awesome. I wish you all well. I'm sorry to bring this up but I strongly believe this cyclone was manufactured and manipulated to cause the damage on purpose. There are weather controlling stations called HARP all over the globe. Governments have admitted they are using cloud seeding technology. I live on the sea and I've seen a lot of things over the years. But nothing like the crazy cloud formations and vapour trails in the last 3 years. You will.see if you look to the SKYS. All the best for you all.
